The incidence, mortality and survivorship of female breast cancer in China, and the distribution of its several key characteristics were described brielfy in this article. The breast cancer incidence and mortality rates among Chinese women were increasing rapidly, especially in rural area during the recent 10 years, though they were still in low level worldwidely. The distribution of breast cancer incidence and mortality among Chinese women by age and district were showing signiifcant characters. The total survival rate was estimated to be closed to the average level of developing countries, while disparity between urban and rural area was recognized. Because of lacking population data, it is dififcult to describe the characteristics on histological subtypes, stages on diagnosis and molecular subtypes nationwide. The national strategies on breast cancer prevention and control should be focused on disease surveillance, etiological research and survival study. Moreover, measurement should be taken to improve the capacity on breast cancer prevention, screening and clinical services in rural area, in order to narrow the gap of survivorship between urban and rural area and control the rapid increase of mortality in rural area.

Objective　To investigate the pattern of human neutrophil degranulation mediated by Fc alpha receptors. Methods　IgA immune complexes (IgA IC) and specific monoclonal antibody were used to stimulate neutrophil degranulation. Lactoferrin released by stimulated neutrophils was quantitatively determined. Results　Monoclonal antibody and IgA IC could both induce neutrophil lactoferrin release. However, monoclonal antibody induced rapid and strong degranulation whilst the effect of IgA IC was much weaker. Conclusion　The pattern of neutrophil degranulation induced by IgA IC and monoclonal antibody is different.

This paper develops a USB signal acquisition card to introduce ECG signal into the computer for display, storagee and analysis. Such aspects get involved in as the acquisition, amplification, filter and AD conversion as well as the principle and structure of USB transmission circuit. MSP430 series of SCMs of TI Corp and SPCP825 chip of SunPlus Corp are adopted as the micro-controller and USB transmission chip respectively.

Objective To explore the effect of health check-up on screening and early detection of colorectal or breast cancer.Methods A total of 4 179 health check-up receivers were enrolled in this investigation.Basic health information was linked to the Shanghai Cancer Registry System and confirmed cancer diagnosis through Access 2007.Excel 2013 was used to analyze cancer detection rate,ranking,age and sex distribution and early stage proportion.Results During 2011 and 2012,81 cancer cases were identified,with a detection rate of 47.47/100 000.The highest detection rate was found in 60-69 years old group (105.36/100 000),and male:female ratio was 1.25 ∶ 1.One colorectal cancer was diagnosed,resulting in a detection rate of 0.79/100 000.Eleven breast cancers were diagnosed,with a detection rate of 17.22/100 000.Early stage breast cancer accounted for 71％,which was higher than average level between 2005-2009 (33％).Conclusion Detection rate of colorectal cancer among health check-up receivers was very low,which is inconsistent with the high incidence of colorectal cancer in Shanghai.Fecal occult-blood test should be performed during health check-up,which may increase colorectal cancer detection.Moreover,health check-up may contribute to early detection of breast cancer.

The international NGOs have been playing an important role in global health governance, and also represent a channel for countries to exert international influence. However, the Chinese NGOs are not actively in-volved in global health so far. This purpose of this paper is to analyze and show the picture of the social and political context of NGOs in China, to learn from the experience of emerging global health-related NGOs through describing their development, provides a strategy for China to support NGO participation in the global health governance, and to put forward recommendation on how to develop China’s global health NGOs based on experiences from international counterparts. The results of this paper found that China has a better international environment, which is a beneficial opportunity for the country to engage in global health governance. Domestic social NGOs are developing progressive-ly, while they are still being harnessed by political safety considerations, for example being affiliated to public admin-istrative system and policy orientation development. However, this would possibly not obstruct health-related NGOs for its minimal political relevance as it is oriented at professionalism, i. e. specialization, public service attributes and relevance to public governance. Therefore, health-related NGOs can have more support from governments since their number is relatively small, with less foundation ( they are undeveloped) and less participation in international cooper-ation ( they lack international involvement) . International experience indicates that supports from governmental enti-ties represent a backbone of the emerging institutions in the participation into the global health programs. The author suggests that the Chinese government should establish a specific global health development strategy of “prioritizing and improving the whole” and setting up the global development strategy in the county. The government should attach more importance to the government-owned and affiliated and private-capital-supported (social elites) NGOs, guide and subsidize them to the international stage, to engage intensely in global health.

The global health system is undergoing dramatic reforms, which would further bring about signifi-cant changes in key global health stakeholders. As a key actor and decision maker in global health system, NGO owns extensive experiences in global health governance and can provide a systematic experience for China’s participa-tion in global health decision-making as a reference model. This paper aimed at studying the roles of NGOs in the field of global health, the roles which can be summarized in four aspects of advocacy, implementation, support, and community mobilization. In addition, NGOs also developed some potential risks and unexpected impacts on global health governance. As represented by some typical examples, there occurred conflicts of interests between some NGOs and the local governments. A number of local health systems suffered from a considerable brain drain of health personnel to NGOs, especially the health officials and technical staff, which weakened the country’s health workforce and system. The financing model driven by external donors could weaken the influences and capacity of local govern-ments on health planning. As a key member involved in global health, we that suggested China and Chinese NGOs should strategically and rationally borrow their experiences and try to avoid these risks.

The International Foundations have invested large sums of funds to participate in global health gov-ernance and greatly contributed to the promotion of global health. The foundations have extensive experience in the management of global health projects. Based on the nature of the foundation and its structure in the government, this paper compares the management methods of project management, project selection, project planning, project imple-mentation, project follow-up, project evaluation and project completion in two stages of the Gates Foundation and Global Fund. It summarizes the project management features, provided references for China participating in global health governance.

NGOs play an important role in global health governance, and have become the key partners of World Health Organization ( WHO) , European and American governments. The goal of the sustainable development of the United Nations also proposes to strengthen NGOs as global health governance partners. Taking WHO, the Unit-ed States and Britain as case examples, this study reviewed the NGOs positioning and cooperation in their global health strategies. The results found that these entities explicitly define the roles of NGOs and strengthen cooperation in their global health strategies to expand their influence in the field of global health. Results also found that WHO, US and UK have given NGOs a clear positioning, that is, they have strengthened the mutual cooperation ( partner-ships) in the same way of expanding their influence in the field of global health for China’s global health strategy de-velopment referred to those NGOs. Therefore, China should incorporate NGOs into the global health strategy, estab-lish NGOs management and cooperation mechanism and define their roles and make it an important complement to global health. China should also strictly select international NGOs to cooperate with and strive to nurture and support Chinese NGOs to participate in global health programs set by the Government, formulate the cooperation list and neg-ative list for NGOs, and at the same time strengthen the supervision and audit to avoid possible risks of NGOs.

Background and purpose: The incidence and mortality of lung cancer ranked first in China. This study aimed to describe lung cancer survival in Shanghai, and provide background information for cancer prevention and treatment evaluation. Methods: Data of lung cancer cases diagnosed during 2002-2006, follow-up information and death report were collected from Shanghai Cancer Registry. Life table method and Ederer Ⅱ were used to calculate observed survival (OS) and relative survival (RS) respectively. Related demographic characteristics and status were also analyzed to present the survival situations of the lung cancer survivors in Shanghai. Results: In this study, 41802 lung cancer cases were included in analysis. The 5-year OS and RS for lung cancer were 13.75% and 20.23% respectively, and median survival time was 318 days. Survival rate was higher among females than males, with the 5-year OS of 15.49% and 13.00% respectively. The 5-year OS was higher among suburban residents (14.25%) than urban residents (13.23%). Survival rates decreased with increasing age and advanced stage. Patients aged 0-34 had a 5-year OS of 38.21%, while patients aged above 75 had a 5-year OS of 5.48%. Patients diagnosed with stage Ⅰ had a 5-year OS of 55.47%, while patients diagnosed with stage Ⅳ had a 5-year OS of 5.27%. Survival of lung cancer patients differed by tumor histological subtype. The 5-year OS of squamous lung cancer (24.40%) was higher than other histological types, followed by adenocarcinoma (22.26%), large cell (20.27%) and small cell lung cancer (12.22%). From 1972-1976 to 2002-2006, the 5-year OS of urban male patients increased from 6.8% to 12.4%, and 5-year OS of urban female patients increased from 7.3% to 14.9%. Analysis of RS gave the similar results. Conclusion: During the past 30 years, survival rate of lung cancer patients in Shanghai improved steadily, and the survival condition is above average among different countries and areas. However, survival rate of lung cancer is still low compared with other types of cancer. Future focus should be placed on the control of tobacco smoking, early detection by low-dose helical computed tomography and targeted therapy to further improve lung cancer survival.
