With the development of dental implant techniques, dental rehabilitation of partially or totally edentulous patients with oral implants has become a common practice. Adequate bone volume in the implant area is a key factor for the success of implant restoration. However, insufficient bone volume in the implant area is very common in clinical practice, which jeopardizes the structural, functional, and esthetic outcomes of implant treatment. Bone augmentation with bone grafts is one of the methods commonly used in clinical practice to meet the requirements of implantation. Properties of bone grafts, such as biocompatibility, osteoconduction, osteoinduction and osteogenesis, are important to the success of bone augmentation. This paper reviews current research on dental bone grafts about their clinically relevant capabilities, classification and their potential development in the future, in order to provide theoretical reference for clinical application of bone grafts and successful implant restoration.

Objective The study aimed to analyze the clinical data of patients with pulmonary embolism and summarize the clinical characteristics of pulmonary embolism,in order to improve the correct diagnostic rate and the prognosis. Methods Data of 178 patients who were cured in our hospital from January 2011 to December 2014 were analyzed retrospectively, including relative risk factors, clinical behaviors, examination data, misdiagnosis and prognosis. Results Patients with pulmonary embolism had related basic diseases and risk factors. Their clinical symptoms, signs and ordinary detection methods indicated pneumatorexis and cardiovascular injury, but lacked of specificity. The misdiagnosis rate of the first diagnosis was 48.88%,including 22 cases of the misdiagnosis to COPD, 18 cases to pneumonia and 16 cases to coronary heart disease. The misdiagnosis rate of elderly patients was 56.36%, while that of the young and middle-aged patients was 36.80%,the difference was statistically significant,P < 0.05. Computed tomography pulmonary angiography(CTPA)could accurately observe the pathological changes of pulmonary embolism, and all the patients were diagnosed by CTPA in the research. 11 cases(10%)of elderly patients died, while 2 cases(2.9%)happened in young and middle-aged patients. There was no statistical significant difference(P > 0.05). Conclusion Although the related risk factors of pulmonary embolism in patients existed, the misdiagnosed rate of the disease was high and prognosis was poor due to many confusing basic diseases. And the symptoms, signs and ordinary inspection of the patients lacked specificity. CTPA,being utilized to diagnose pulmonary embolism reliably, should be promoted.

Objective To observe the changes and significance of the protein expression levels of nuclear factor-κB p65 (NF-κB p65), transforming long factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and apoptosis-related factors Bcl-2 and Bax in myocardial tissue of Bama miniature pig model of diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Methods Ten healthy male Guangxi Bama miniature pigs, aged 4 to 5 months old, were selected and divided into control group and model group according to the random number table method, with 5 pigs in each group. After 12 hours of fasting in the two groups, the DCM model was replicated by intravenous injection of streptozotocin (STZ) 150 mg/kg; for the Bama miniature pigs in the control group, citric acid-sodium citrate buffer 150 mg/kg was injected intravenously. After 10 months of modeling, the basic conditions of the two groups of animals were observed and their fasting blood glucose (FPG) levels were detected. The protein expression levels of NF-κB p65, TGF-β1, Bcl-2 and Bax in myocardial tissue of two groups were detected by Western Blot and the pathological changes of myocardial tissue were observed under electron microscope. Results In the model group, 4 models were successfully established, and 1 died. The model pigs had symptoms such as polydipsia, polyphagia, polyuria and decreased body weight. The FPG level in the model group was significantly higher than that in the control group (mmol/L: 25.53±3.75 vs. 4.68±0.77, P < 0.01). Compared with the control group, the protein expression levels of NF-κB p65, Bax and TGF-β1 in the myocardial tissue of model group were significantly increased (NF-κB p65/GAPDH: 0.46±0.05 vs. 0.38±0.02, Bax/GAPDH: 0.46±0.01 vs. 0.35±0.01, TGF-β1/GAPDH: 0.39±0.01 vs. 0.33±0.01, all P < 0.05) and the expression level of Bcl-2 protein was significantly decreased (Bcl-2/GAPDH: 0.33±0.01 vs. 0.42±0.01, P < 0.01). Electron microscopy results showed that the myofibrils of myocardial tissue in the DCM model group were disordered, and the number of mitochondria in the gap was significantly reduced. A large number of mitochondria with vacuolar degeneration were observed. Conclusions The DCM model of Bama miniature pigs can be successfully replicated after 10 months of high-dose STZ disposable ear vein injection. The DCM model miniature pigs have obvious glucose metabolism disorder, and their myocardial tissue has inflammatory reaction, cardiomyocyte apoptosis and fibrosis.

OX40 is a costimulatory receptor that is expressed primarily on activated CD4+, CD8+, and regulatory T cells. The ligation of OX40 to its sole ligand OX40L potentiates T cell expansion, differentiation, and activation and also promotes dendritic cells to mature to enhance their cytokine production. Therefore, the use of agonistic anti-OX40 antibodies for cancer immunotherapy has gained great interest. However, most of the agonistic anti-OX40 antibodies in the clinic are OX40L-competitive and show limited efficacy. Here, we discovered that BGB-A445, a non-ligand-competitive agonistic anti-OX40 antibody currently under clinical investigation, induced optimal T cell activation without impairing dendritic cell function. In addition, BGB-A445 dose-dependently and significantly depleted regulatory T cells in vitro and in vivo via antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. In the MC38 syngeneic model established in humanized OX40 knock-in mice, BGB-A445 demonstrated robust and dose-dependent antitumor efficacy, whereas the ligand-competitive anti-OX40 antibody showed antitumor efficacy characterized by a hook effect. Furthermore, BGB-A445 demonstrated a strong combination antitumor effect with an anti-PD-1 antibody. Taken together, our findings show that BGB-A445, which does not block OX40-OX40L interaction in contrast to clinical-stage anti-OX40 antibodies, shows superior immune-stimulating effects and antitumor efficacy and thus warrants further clinical investigation.
