Objective To evaluate the safety, feasibility and efficacy of treating familial adenoma-tous polyposis (FAP) with cancerization by total colectomy and proctocolectomy under laparoscopv. Methods Perioperative data and surgical outcomes of 3 FAP patients who underwent laparoscopic total colectomy and proctocolectomy were analyzed retrospectively and compared with those of 8 patients performed conventional open surgery between Autumn 2001 and December 2002. Results All of the 3 patients were received laparoscopic total colectomy or proctocolectomy successfully without severe complications. The operative times were longer in the laparoscopic group when compared with the conventional group (243. 33 vs. 168. 75 minutes) , (P= 0.028). The mean operative blood loss, flatus and hospital stay in the laparoscopic group were 146. 66 ml, 1. 33 days and 14 days respectively without significant difference when compared with those of the conventional group. The incision length was significantly shorter in the laparoscopic group (4. 33 vs. 19. 38cm) , ( P

Objndve To evaluate the protective effects of specific antagonists of angiotensin II receptor losartan on the kidneys of diabetic rats and study their mechanisms. Methods Changes of urinary albumin, ?2-m excretion, creatinine clearance(Ccr), NO, ET level of plasma, urine and renal tissue, serum and urinary TGF-?1 concentration and mean glomerular volume were measured. Results Losartan could correct elevated urinary albumin, ?2-m excretion, Ccr and mean glomerular volume. Urinary and renal tissue NO, ET concentration decreased after diabetic rats received losartan. Large doses of losartan also reduced urinary TGF-?1 level. Conclusion Losartan can protect the kidney of diabetic rats and the decrease of NO, ET, TGF-?1 concentration in renal tissue may be a mechanism for this action.

Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in China, with a high incidence and poor prognosis. It is still the focus of current work to improve the diagnosis rate and investigate the new treatment for gastric cancer. In recent years, intelligent medicine represented by artificial intelligence has been gradually applied in gastric cancer diagnosis and treatment, especially in gastroscopy examination, imaging examination, pathological diagnosis and so on. In terms of minimally invasive surgery for gastric cancer, the emergence of new technologies such as 4K and 3D have further improved the accuracy of surgery. At the same time, laparoscopic fluorescence imaging technology represented by indocyanine green imaging is gradually becoming a new direction for the development of minimally invasive surgery. Combined with the literature at home and abroad, the authors expound the application of minimally invasive intelligent technology in the process of diagnosis and treatment of gastric cancer to fully understand the opportunities and challenges faced by gastric cancer intelligent diagnosis and treatment, break the boundaries of disciplines, and carry out a wide range of 'medical-engineering integration′ research. This will finally benefit patients with gastric cancer.

Background and purpose:Glioblastoma is one of the most common intracranial tumors, the morbidity and mortality are both high, and the molecular biological mechanism of the disease is still unclear. In this study, we detected the gene expression of tyrosine kinase receptor (TKR) pathway in primary glioblastoma(GBM) with low-density array, furthermore we analyzed the significance of the gene expression change. Methods:We detected 26 genes of RTK pathway in 10 primary GBM tissues and 9 normal brain tissues (gained from the decompression operation of brain trauma), and analyzed the different expressions of these two kinds of tissues by statistic method. Results:The Ct values of MAP2K1 and MAP2K4 in normal brain tissues were 1.6?1.7 and 2.2?2.1, the Ct values of MAP2K1 and MAP2K4 in primary GBM tissues were 3.9?1.5 and 5.0?2.0, and the Ct different values between normal brain tissues and primary GBM tissues of both genes were -2.3 and -2.8(P

Most colorectal surgeries now are carried out as minimally invasive surgery along with the development and application of laparoscopy. However, the surgical imaging system does not meet the progressing requirement of laparoscopic surgeons. Thanks to the advent of three-dimensional (3D) laparoscopy,a more sophisticated surgical scene with realer images of anatomy is provided to surgeons. It makes identification and manipulation easier,so that to shorten the learning curve.Meanwhile, the 3D laparoscopy is not perfect. But authors believe it will finally be used broadly in colorectal surgery with the improvement of the technology.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of medical supervised aerobic exercise on physical activity, quality of life and psychological status in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods SLE patients who fulfilled ACR criteria were recruited and divided into 2 groups: exercise group (n=24) and control group (n=25). The patients in the exercise group were supervised to have aerobic exercises. The intensiveness of exercise was determined by 20%-40% of maximum heart rate reservation. Visual analog scale (VAS), SLE disease activity index (SLEDAI) score, physical working capacity (PWC170), SF-36 and profile of mood states (POMS) of the two groups were used to evaluate the changes at the baseline, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months after this study. Results The 2 groups were homogeneous and comparable in disease activity at baseline. 1, 3 and 6 months after the study, the VAS, PWC170, POMS and SF -36 of SLE patients were improved in certain degrees in both groups, while the improvement of VAS (P<0.05), PWCITO (P< 0.01 ) and social function of SF-36 (P<0.05) of exercise group were significantly more evident than those of the control group in 6 months after study without any impact on disease condition. There was a high negative correlation between VAS and 5 categories of POMS (r=-6.26~-0.393, P<0.01 ) and a more relevant positive association between VAS and 2 categories of POMS (r=0.534~0.611, P<0.01). Conclusion The data demonstrate that the supervised aerobic exercise can ameliorate physical capacity, improve quality of life and psychological and emotional status in the state SLE patients without aggravating disease per se.

Objective To investigate the influence of CO2-insufflation pressure on invasion potential of the colon cancer cells. Methods With an in vitro artificial pneumoperitoneum model,SW1116 human colon cancer cells were exposed to CO2-insufflation of 5 different pressure groups:6,9,12,15 mm Hg and control group, respectively for 1 h.The invasion capacities of SW1116 cells exposed to CO2-insufflation of 5 different pressure groups were detected by cell adhesion/invasion assay in vitro. Results Immediately following exposure to 15 mm Hg CO2 insufflation, the invasion of SW1116 cells decreased significantly compared to the cells before exposure. At the 0 h time point, the cells exposed to 15 mm Hg were significantly less invasive than those exposed to the other insufflation pressure(P
