1.Formulation and optimization of the recipe of Centella asiatica and Curcuma longa cream
Pharmaceutical Journal 2001;298(2):15-18
The formula of the skin cream containing the extracts of Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. and Curcuma longa L. - the two medicinal plants available in Vietnam – was established by means of experimental design and computer – aided optimization. At first, the formulae were designed by varying the amounts of their ingredients such as Polawax, cetostearyl alcohol, Tween 80 and Span. Then, the Oil-in-Water emulsion – type creams were manufactured by using the PUC VIKOSATOR emulsor. Next, the resulted products were evaluated for their physics – chemical parameters including the melting point, the extrudability and the number of the Oil particles. After that, the multiple – objective optimization was performed by the CAD/Chem artificial intelligence software, which is the unification of neural networks, fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms. At the end, the optimized formula was strictly evaluated by both hypothetical tests and experimental trials. In drug quality control, the investigation of skin cream was proven to meet its ointment requirements.

3.The cause and the treament of facial paralysis
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;1():27-30
156 patients with facial paralysis treated in hospital No103 from 1991 to July 2002 were studied by technique of descriptive observation X ray photography at Schiller position to detect mastoid malformation to find the cause and to determine the treament. In 60% of cases, the cause was not identified, especially Charles Bell paralysis can caused by local dysturbance of vasculority. In such cases vitamine B can administered in combining with acupuncture. In case of pain, high dose of prednisolon can be used with dilatater medicines. Facial paralysis caused by braiskill trauma, by VIII nerve tumor and by ear mastoiditis(2,56%)…need a surgical treatment, other causes must be solved

4.The persistence of malaria in Khanh Trung commune, Khanh Vinh district, Khanh Hoa province and epidemiological characteristics of asymptomatic malaria
Journal of Malaria and parasite diseases Control 2003;0(1):31-39
In December 2002, 445 households and 1832 individuals of Khanh Trung commune were interviewed and examined in a cross-sectional survey (approximately 85% inhabitants of the commune). The results showed that: The slide positive rate was 10.1%. The rate of asymptomatic malaria carriers was 77.2% of total malaria confirmed cases. There is a relation between people with sleeping in the forest and people without sleeping in its, OR=1.89, P=0.001. Ethnic group of Ra-glai infected with malaria (11.1%) and the age group which had highest rate of asymptomatic malaria was 5-9 years old 11.2%. Parasite density index of asymptomatic malaria group was lower than that of the fever malaria group

5.The mobility rehabilitation situation for cerebral palsy persons in Ha Tay provine
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;471(1):23-25
The study was conducted on 238 cerabral palsy palsy patients aged 0-68 years in 19 commune of Ha Tay province. In 41,2% of patients mobility function rehabilited by common methods, among them, 82% by oriental traditional medicine, 13% by western medicine method and 5% by combined methods, 24% by special methods. Provincial hospital played a very modeste role in functional rehabilitation from cerebral palsy and in Hospital at district level, the role was nearly none.

6.Multiplex polymerase chain reaction assay for identification of Escherichia Coli strains
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;471(1):31-32
200 strains of E.Coli collected from diarrhoea patients at Bach Mai, Dong Da and Dong Anh Hospitals in Ha Noi, were investigated. By mutiplex PCR, the gene of various toxicities of 5 pathogene E. Coli strains were identified. This diagnostic technique has got epidemiological value helping physicians to perform concurrently a large number of samples, saving the time and the materials.

7.To study the therapeutic effects of 'Sinh mach Bao nguyen" tea on low blood pressure
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(3):27-29
Clinical trial was carried out on 30 patients (28 females, 2 males at the age of 18 and 60 years old) with low blood pressure (systolic blood pressure <90mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure <60mmHg) with other clinical symptoms such as headache, dizzy, fatigue, and insomnia were treated by 'Sinh mach Bao nguyen' tea- a herbal formula of traditional medicine. After 30 days of treatment, 93.33% of patients have higher blood pressure. Some clinical symptoms reduced significantly. There was no side-effect

8.Application of digital subtraction angiography in diagnosis and treatment of severe recurent epistaxis
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2004;8(4):239-344
40 severe recurent epistaxis patients were monitored by digital subtraction angiography at Cho Ray hospital, from October 2001 to October 2003. The results: traumatic carotico-cavernous fistulas 3 cases; related carotid arteries 3 cases: carotid artery ligation; Internal maxillary aneurysms 13 cases: embolization; Related ethmoid artery 2 cases: ethmoid artery ligation. The bleeding sites have not been found clearly on DSA 19 cases: 5 cases in of them have no longer bleeding after DSA and pulled pack out. The DSA is a very important therapeutic application and sometime it was used as definitive treatment

9.Application of opiates anti-recurrent addiction treatment with Naltrexone in Mental Health Institute
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;478(4):61-64
Naltrexone in combining with the counselling, the familial intervention, the behaviorial management… was used at the Institute of Mental Health. After 1 month, the default had got 8.16%, after 3 months 14.28%. In all cases of normal SGOT, SGPT level before the treatment had got no change in the course of treatment, but in cases of increased enzyme levels before the treatment, they were abnormally changed. Urine test was (+) with narcotic drugs after 1 month 44%, 2 months 32.14%, 3 months 34.14%, 4 months 43.75%, 5 months 28%, 6 months 22.5%. A majority of addictive subjects did not believe on the clearing of heroine effect by naltrexone and some had got no correct motivation for the treatment. Criminal beheavior contrainted in the family was eliminated entirely after 1 to 2 months treatment. High risk beheavior among intravenous drug users, unsafe sexual activities were ceased after 1 month treatment. No HIV(+) patient was detected after 6 months treatment.
