Objective To evaluate the clinical pathology meaning of atypical squamous cell of undetermined significance (ASCUS) in cervical cytology. Methods The clinical data of 2118 cases who underwent cervical liquid thin-prep cell test (TCT) were analyzed retrospectively, ASCUS and squamous epithelium (SIL) were diagnosed according to the classification of the data TBS cytology, the histopathological examination results were tracked. Results The incidence of ASCUS was 3.4% (72/2218), and the ratio for SIL ( 1.2%, 25/2118) was 2.9. In the cellular pathology of ASCUS, there were four aspects, atypical surface cells and atypical hollowed cells in 16 cases (22.2%), atypical atrophy of the squamous epithelial cells in 11 cases (15.3%), atypical mature or immature metaplastic cells 28 cases (38.9%), atypical cells less influence diagnosis 17 cases (23.6%). Tracking the histologic findings in 43 cases with chronic cervicitis 22 cases (51.2%), low level squamous epithelium neoplasia in 12 cases (27.9%), high levels of squamous epithelial change in 8 cases (18.6%), squamous cell carcinoma 1 case(2.3%). Conclusion ASCUS exists within the risk of squamous lesions, management should be strengthened.

Objective To access the clinical value of interstitial brachytherpay in patients with advanced carcinoma. Methods 6 patients(1 case of hepatic cancer,3 cases of prostate cancer,2 cases of local recurrence of rectal cancer)received interstitial high dose rate(Ir-192)brachytherpay with afterloading technique(6.0 Gy/day in 4 days) Tubes were inserted with laparoscopic guidance to minimize the risk of tube misplacement. Results The size of the tumors was reduced and the local control rate was encouraging(6/6). one patient with local recurrence of rectal cancer aquired CR,the ofher five cases acquired PR. Conclusions Interstitial tube insertion with laparoscopic guidance to treat advanced carcinoma in afterloading technique is a simple,minimally invasive,safe and economical method,especially fit for elder patients who intolerate or disagree to operation.

Objective To investigate the antileukemia effect of Prunella vulgaris Injection(PVI) in order to offer experimental data for the treatment of leukemias with PVI in clinic.Methods Inhibition of PVI on K562 cell proliferation and IC_(50) value was assayed by MTT assay.The growth curve of K562 cells was drawn also.The cellular morphology was observed by invert microscope,Giemsa staining,and MTT assay.The apoptosis induced the effect of PVI to K562 cells was observed by trypan-blue exclusion test and flow cytometer(FCM).The expression of apoptosis related protein bcl-2 and bax was measured by immunocytochemistry,and the quantitative analysis was made with figure analysis system.Results PVI obviously inhibited the proliferation of K562 cells in a dose-dependent manner(r=0.985 0).The IC_(50) was 0.113 mg/mL.(After) K562 cells were treated with PVI(50 mg/mL),the morphological characters of apoptosis were observed.The results of FCM showed that the apoptosis rats [(37.15?1.46)%] in the treatment group were significant higher than that in control group [(5.56?0.68)%](P

Background and purpose: Germline variation in Tg (thyroglobulin) and TSHR (thyroid stimulating hormone receptor) confers an increased risk of benign thyroid disorders. Benign thyroid disorders are strong risk factors for non-medullary thyroid cancer (NMTC). To explore the hypothesis that polymorphic variation in these genes affects the risk of NMTC. Methods: Tg A7589G and TSHR C253A polymorphisms were determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (FCR-RFLP) method, to analyze the relationship between the Tg and TSHR gene polymorphisms and NMTC in NMTC and control groups. Results: Among 360 cases, there was no statistic difference in the frequencies of genotype and allele of TSHR C253A between NMTC and control groups. There were Tg A7589G polymorphisms in the 360 cases. The frequencies ofAG+GG genotype in NMTC group were significantly higher than those in control groups (P<0.05). The frequencies of G allele in NMTC group were significantly higher than those in control groups (P<0.001). Conclusion: There were Tg A7589G gene polymorphisms in NMTC and control groups. G allele may be the predisposing gene of NMTC.

Objective To observe the effects of olfactory lamina propria (OLP) transplantation and ganglioside GM1 treatment on spinal cord injury (SCI) in rats.Methods Totally 50 healthy pure breed female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats after spinal cord hemiseetion were randomly divided into 5 groups and were given different treatments: (OLP + GM1) treatment group (group A), GM1 treatment group (group B), OLP treatment group (group C), spinal cord injury but without treatment group (group D) and healthy control group (group E). The recovery of neurological function was evaluated by somatosensory evoked potential (SEP) and pathological examination after surgery. Results In group A, in some rats an escaping response in right hind leg occurred, but in other groups, the motor function was not significantly improved. Histological examination showed that transplanted olfactory lamina propria survived in the transplantation area and expanded on certain routes. NF positive nerve fibers passed through the transplantation area. Compared with group B, C, D, the N1-wave latency was(4.71±0. 72)ms 4 weeks after operation(P<0. 01), and the NF density was(7. 31±0. 26) ×104/mm28 weeks after operation in group A(P<0. 05). Conclusions Olfactory lamina propria (OLP) transplantation and ganglioside GM1 treatment have a synergistic effect on SCI.

Objective To study the regulatory role of chemerin in infant with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) pneumonia by investigating the level of serum chemerin,pro-inlfammatory cytokine (TNF-α, IL-17), and anti-inlfammatory cytokine (IL-10, TGF-β). Methods The serum level of chemerin,TNF-α,IL-1,IL-10,TGF-βwere tested in 82 RSV pneumonia inpatients (17 severe RSV pneumonia cases,65 mild cases) and 40 controls by ELISA and the severity of the RSV pneumonia was evaluated using a scoring system. Results The serum level of chemerin of RSV pneumonia cases were (610.45±106.63pg/ml) which were signiifcantly higher than the control(337.24±43.37 pg/ml). Chemerin level of severe RSV pneumonia group is signiifcantly higher than mild cases as well [(786.62±82.59 pg/ml)vs (539.98±65.86 pg/ml)P<0.01 ]. Signiifcant positive correlations were found be-tween serum chemerin level and TNF-α,IL-17 level (r=0.81,r=0.61;P<0.01) while the serum level of chemerin is negatively correlated with IL-10, TGF-β(r=-0.80,r=-0.75;P<0.01). Conclusions The level of chemerin increased in RSV pneumonia patients,and related to clinical severity after RSV infection. These results indicate that chemerin may play an important role in the pathogenesis of RSV pneumonia and to the severity of the infection.

Objective To investigate the role of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase(IDO)in asthma.Methods The mouse asthma model was induced by ovalbumin(OVA).IDO expression was detected on the level of protein and mRNA respectively.Distribution and maturation of dendritic cells were detected by the immunofluorescence method.Results (1)The symptoms and lung inflammation in the model group were more serious than control group.The serum total IgE was significantly higher in the model group than that in the control group,165.50 ± 30.13 ng/ml vs.94.45 ± 28.30 ng/ml(P ＜ 0.05).(2)IDO expression in the model group was lower than that in control group.On the level of protein,mean intergrated optical density was 11.38 ± 6.05 in the model group vs.23.62 ± 8.92 in the control group(P ＜ 0.05);on the level of mRNA,IDO expression of the model group was 33% of the control group(P ＜ 0.05).(3)CD11c+CD86+ cells were distributed in alveolar wall and around small vessels.The quantity of CD11c+CD86+ cells in lungs of the model group were significantly smaller than that in the control group.The median intergrated fluorescence intensity was 9961.86(range,7 406.52 ～ 12 724.98)in the model group vs.15974.60(range,10 006.39 ～ 16 171.46)in the control group(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions IDO expression is low and matured dendritic cells are less in situ in the asthma model.These suggest that less matured DCs may produce less IDO,which may play an important role in asthma.

Objective To construct three-dimensional finite element model (3-D FEM) of maxillary complete denture and its supporting tissues with different shapes of palatal vault and different teeth cusp inclination. Methods Based on the data of 3-D measurement, using MATLAB 6.1 and ALGOR FEAS software, 3-D FEM was constructed by computer. Results 3-D FEM of maxillary complete denture was constructed with three different palatal vault and three different teeth cusp inclination (10?, 20?, 30?) and supporting tissues. Conclusion 3-D FEM can be used for the analysis of the effect of different shapes of palatal vault and different teeth cusp inclination on the stress distribution of maxillary complete denture under different loading conditions.

Objective To predict the length of peripherally inserted central venous catheters(PICC) with electronic chest radiograph scale measurement techniques, and observe its clinical effect. Methods A total of 185 breast cancer patients from October 2012 to December 2013 who were treated by PICC combined with MST guided by ultrasonic technology were as control group. A total of 192 breast cancer patients from January to November 2014 were as observation group. Control group adopted from the puncture point to right sternoclavicular joints impreaaion nip down again to the third floor of PICC in vitro measurement method. Observation group used to right sternoclavicular joints from the puncture point plus right sternoclavicular joints to subcarinal 1 vertebral body length, right sternoclavicular joints to subcarinal 1 vertebral body length measurement by electronic chest radiograph scale technology directly measured from the electronic chest radiographs. The accuracy rates and complications between the two measurement methods were compared. Results The accuracy rate in observation group was 97.92%(188/192), which was higher than that in control group (68.11%,126/185 ),and there was significant differencek,χ2=60.15, P<0.01. The complication rate in observation group was 6.77%(13/192), which was lower than that in control group (20.54%, 38/185) ,and there was significant difference,χ2=9.58, P<0.01. Conclusions The electronic chest radiograph scale measurement techniques could effectively improve the accuracy of PICC catheter placed, improve the quality of venipuncture, decrease the complications .

Background and purpose:Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTL) belongs to a rare type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). Its incidence rate in Asian country is higher than that in Western country. This disease is highly invasive, the pathogenesis of it is still unclear. Resent research shows that epstein-barr virus (EBV) is closely related to the occurrence of it. There is still no standard treatment guidelines of ENKTL, and the prognosis is very bad. Therefore, it is imperative to explore the pathogenesis of ENKTL. This study aimed to investigate the expressions of interleukin-2 (IL-2), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in the serum of ENKTL patients and their clinical signiifcances. Methods: Luminex liquid chip technology was used to detect the expression levels of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-αin the serum of 67 ENKTL patients and 26 normal persons. Results:The expression levels of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-αin the serum of 67 ENKTL patients were (564.1±387.6), (293.3±191.6) and (181.3±91.8)pg/mL, while in the normal persons were (1 097.0±365.7), (417.5±289.6) and (291.3±89.4)pg/mL, respectively. Compared with normal persons, the expression levels of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-αin ENKTL patients were signiifcantly lower (P<0.05). Further study showed that the expression level of TNF-αin 5 complete remission ENKTL patients [(162.7±10.3)pg/mL] was significantly higher than that in initial treatment patients [(125.2±7.3)pg/mL, P<0.05]. Conclusion:The expressions of IL-2, IL-6 and TNF-αare reduced in the serum of ENKTL patients, and the serum expression level of TNF-αis closely related to the effect of chemotherapy.
