Toxic hepatic necrosis (THN) was induced in BALB/C mice by CCl4 infection (i.p.) and then colchicine (orally), testosterone propionate or estradiol valerate (s.c.) were administered. The experimental results reveal that the effect of colchicine on THN was better in male mice than that in femalemice.Testosterone propionate had no effect on the survival rate of male and female mice with THN, but enhanced the therapeutic effect of colchicine on THN in female mice. Objective To improve the identification of rush pneumoconiosis.Methods To analyze 47 cases of rush pneumoconiosis treated in our hospital from 2003 May to 2008 December.Results The male occupied 74% of 47 patients.The average age of onset was 34.2 ranging from 26.1 to 42.3.78.7% patiets presented with cough,sputum production,chest pain and dyspnea.4.2% patiets had PaO2 45 mmHg.85.1% patients' chest X-ray and CT images showed nodule shadows,interstitial fibrosis and ground glass attenuation.42.6% patients had restrictive ventilation disorders,2.1% obstrutive ventilation disorders 4.2% mixed ventilation disorders,and 74.5% decreased diffusing capacities.Through fiberoptic bronchoscopy,carbon sediment were seen on the 10% patients' bronchial walls,and bronchial lumen were distorted and stiff.Chronic inflammaion increased,macrophages and fibre tissues,and 21.2% dust cells were seen in pathology.All patients were treated according to their clinic symptoms.Conclusion Rush-mat dust was the main cause of rush pneumoconiosis,there were no special ways to cure this disease,prevention was the key to eliminate rush pneumoconiosis.

Objective In order to determine the effect of colchicine(Col) on the changes of serum activity of tumour necrosis factor (TNF) induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS) in rabbits.Methods Twelve New Zealand white rabbits were equally divided into 2 groups, namely group A and group B. Rabbits in group A were intravenously administered with 0.2ml/ kg of normal saline (NS) from 67h before LPS inje ction, while those in group B were given 0.5mg/ kg of Col instead of NS at the same time course.Endotoxic shock was induced by intravevous injection of 2?g/ kg of LPS after the challenge by Bacillus Calmette Gu?rin(BCG). BACKGROUND: Tissue Doppler echocardiography (TDE) has been proved to evaluate general and local function of heart but less reported on adriamycin-induced cardiomyopathy following bone marrow stromal cell (BMS) transplantation.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate myocardial function of an adriamycin-induced cardiomyopathy rabbit model following BMS transplantation using TDE.DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized animal control study was performed at Laboratory of Ultrasound, Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from September 2002 to December 2003.MATERIALS: A total of 28 male adult Japanese rabbits weighing (2.0+0.2) kg were used in this study. Adriamycin was used to induce cardiomyopathy model in 20 rabbits.METHODS: Twenty-eight male Japanese rabbits were randomly divided into three groups: cell transplantation group (n=10),PBS group (n=10), and sham operation group (n=8). BMSs were isolated from cell transplantation group at the 8th day. On the 12th week, cells were labeled with 4, 6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI), and then epicardial directly injected into the myocardium of the same rabbits in thoracotomy surgery. Non-cell only culture fluid PBS was injected in PBS group. Sham operation group underwent thoracotomy surgery with the same volume of saline injection.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Left ventricular function was assessed by conventional and tissue Doppler echocardiography before and 4 weeks after surgery. Histological examination including apotisis study and DAPI fluorescent were assessed after sacrificed.from (4.0+1.1) cm/s to (5.3+1.2) cm/s (P ＜ 0.05) around the inject site, but the improvement of global myocardial function was not found by conventional echocardiography. In PBS and sham operation group there were no differences in global and myocardium at 4 weeks after transplantation. Histological findings showed that the injury of the myocardium around the injection site was relieved with less apoptosis.

Objective:To observe and compare the therapeutic effect of metoprolol by routine increasing dose method and rapid titration method on acute myocardial infarction (AMI).Methods:A total of 60 inpatients,who were di-agnosed with AMI within 24h and without contraindications for metoprolol,were randomly divided into two groups:routine therapy group (received metoprolol using routine methods,the dose was added in seven days)and rapid ti-tration group (metoprolol was added in three days using titration).The dosage maintained with 190 mg/d after both groups reaching the target dose of 190mg/d;then therapeutic effects were observed in both groups.Results: ①There were no re-myocardial infarction,rehospitalization caused by heart failure and sudden death etc.in both groups;② Patients received echocardiography in outpatients after three months.Compared with routine increasing dose group,there was significant reduction in left ventricular end-diastolic diameter [LVEDd,(55.00±7.56)mm vs.(50.00± 5.81)mm]and significant rise in left ventricular ejection fraction [LVEF,(49.13 ± 10.18)% vs. (57.84±10.34)%]in rapid titration group,P <0.01 both.Conclusion:Rapid titration method could make the pa-tients rapidly reach the targeted dose of metoprolol and inhibit renin release earlier,block the renin-angiotensin sys-tem,and improve myocardial remodeling and cardiac function.

Objective To analyze the epidemiologic feature of overseas imported malaria in order to provide the evidence for improving the surveillance and control of malaria in Wuhan City. Methods The epidemiological investigation data of overseas imported malaria cases were collected and analyzed with an epidemiological method including plasmodium species epidemic fo?cus distribution domestic distribution population characteristics attack?diagnosis interval clinical grading etc. in Wuhan City from 2008 to 2013. Results A total of 240 overseas imported malaria cases were reported including 180 cases from Afri?can countries and the proportion of Plasmodium falciparum infections was 82.22% and 60 cases from Southeast Asian coun?tries and the proportion of Plasmodium vivax infections was 76.67% and the proportions of the parasite species were significant?ly different between the two regions χ2=105.53 P 0.001 . The male and young adults were dominant. there were no statisti?cal significance between clinical grading and attack?diagnosis interval Z=-0.99 P = 0.32 vocational background χ2=10.61 P=0.10 then clinical symptoms aggravated the situation was occurred more easily among the first attack cases χ2=7.66 P 0.05 and the falciparum malaria cases χ2=24.27 P 0.001 . Conclusions The overseas imported malaria cases are increasing rapidly with years and the malignant malaria cases were more than other malaria cases in Wuhan City. Therefore the surveillance and management of the returnees from malaria endemic areas should be strengthened continually.

Objective To investigate the effeit of Reconstruction of tantalum metal rod implantation in the treatment of early ischemic necrosis of femoral head( Steinberg Ⅰ～Ⅱ period) ,to explore the early femoral head ischemic necrosis of minimally invasive treatme(n)t. Method 24 patients( Steinberg Ⅰ～Ⅱ period) using C-arm fluoroscopy machine,under the greater trochanter through the neck hole to avascular necrosis zone,the first zone of the medullary sclerosis core decompression, re-implantation of tantalum rod to the subchondral bone is about 0.5 cm, through the Harris score before and after surgery for comparison. Results After follow-up 9(2 ～ 12) months,preoperative pain and function were significantly limited nuitigation. The excellent rate was 83% after opertion. MRI manifestations in patients with stable,non-ischemic necrosis increased performance. Conclusion Core decompression can significantly reduce the pressure on the femoral head hardening region, tantalum rod weight-bearing area of femoral head implant provides a structural support for subchondral bone. This method has the characteristics decompression,structural support,minimally invasive,it is worth for clinical use.

Objective To determine the biomechanical parameters of left ventricular by using velocity vector imaging (VVI),and to indirectly assess the coronary artery stenosis with VVI in the patients with coronary artery disease (CAD).Methods 52 patients who had one coronary artery lesions at least diagnosed by coronary angiography (CAG)were divided into coronary artery mild stenosis group and severe stenosis group;2 1 patients in mild stenosis group had one coronary stenosis <75%;31 patients in severe stenosis group had one coronary artery stenosis ≥75% at least.At the same time,20 cases of normal people without coronary artery stenosis showed by CAG were selected as normal control group. VVI was used to detect the left ventricular wall segments of the overall longitudinal strain (GLS ), the overall circumferential strain (GCS ) and the overall radial strain (GRS ). Results The absolute values of GLS,GRS,GCS of the patients in mild and severe coronary artery stenosis groups were significantly decreased than those in normal control group(P<0.05),and the strain parameters in severe stenosis group were decreased more significantly, there were significant differences compared mild stenosis group (P<0.05 ). The distribution of the segments with decreased longitudinal strain matched the LV myocardial segment with the coronary stenosis rate ≥ 75%,and GLS had the most sensitivity.The GLS in normal control group,mild stenosis group and severe stenosis group were negatively correlated to left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)(r=-0.58,P<0.05;r=-0.51,P<0.05;r=-0.43,P<0.05).GLS-16.14 % was used to assess the severe coronary artery stenosis with requiring the implementation of PTCA treatment as the diagnostic cut-off point with sensitivity 96.8%, specificity of 70%, the highest Yuedden index 0.668. Conclusion The decreasing of left ventricular strain could be detected by VVI, which suggests that severe coronary artery stenosis exists in coronary artery;the distribution of the segments with significantly decreased strains can be used to assess the coronary lesions and stenosis degrees.

Objective·To evaluate the clinical value of two-dimensional ultrasound combined with four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound in the diagnosis of uterine space-occupying lesion.Methods·A total of 75 patients with uterine space-occupying lesion were enrolled in this study from March 2015 to February 2016 at Hospital of Southwest Medical University.Patients received both two-dimensional ultrasound and four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound to determine the location,number and nature of the lesions,as well as the clinical staging of malignant lesions,then the diagnostic accuracy was evaluated.Results·Among 75 patients,there were 26 cases with endometrial carcinoma,21 cases with hysteromyoma,16 cases with metropolypus,and 12 cases with uterine adenomyosis.The diagnostic accuracy of two-dimensional ultrasound combined with four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound for the uterine space-occupying lesion was 88.0％,which was significantly higher than that of two-dimensional ultrasound (64.0％) (P＜0.05).What's more,the diagnostic accuracy of two-dimensional ultrasound combined with four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound for the clinical staging of endometrial carcinoma was 88.5％,which was significantly higher than that of two-dimensional ultrasound (61.5％) (P＜0.05).Conclusion·Two-dimensional ultrasound combined with four-dimensional color Doppler ultrasound is more effective to improve the diagnostic accuracy of uterine space occupying lesion and clinical staging of endometrial carcinoma in comparison with two-dimensional ultrasound,which will favor the clinical strategy for the treatment of uterine space-occupying lesion.
