Objective: To explore the intervention effects of high intensity interval training (HIIT) on glucose metabolism, cortisol (Cor), and sleep quality among college students with comorbid depressive symptoms and obesity, so as to provide a reference for improving sleep quality among college students with comorbid depressive symptoms and obesity. Methods: In March 2023, 45 college students with comorbid depressive symptoms and obesity were recruited and randomly assigned to an exercise group ( n =23) and a control group ( n =22) by random number table method. The exercise group received HIIT intervention for 12 weeks, three times a week, while the control group received no intervention. Blood samples were collected from participants to measure fasting insulin (FINS), fasting blood glucose (FBG), homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), Cor, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) before and after intervention. Statistical analysis was performed using t-test, repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA), simple effect analysis. Results: The repeated measures ANOVA revealed statistically significant time×group interaction effects for body composition (weight, body mass index, percentage of body fat, fat mass, waist to hip ratio), depressive symptoms, PSQI scores and its subdimensions (subjective sleep quality, sleep onset time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders, daytime dysfunction), as well as FBG, FINS, and HOMA-IR between the exercise group and control group before and after intervention ( F =7.10-53.38, all P <0.05). Simple effect analysis showed that compared to the control group, the exercise group demonstrated significant improvements in body composition (body mass index, fat mass, waist to hip ratio), depressive symptoms, PSQI scores and its sub dimensions (subjective sleep quality, sleep onset time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders, daytime dysfunction), FBG, FINS, HOMA-IR, and Cor (all P <0.05). Conclusion HIIT can improve the sleep quality of college students with comorbid depressive symptoms and obesity by enhancing glucose metabolism and regulating Cor levels.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the protective effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs)-derived exosomesagainst testicular ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) in rats.

METHODSRat BMSCs were isolated, cultured and identified in theprimary culture. The exosomes were extracted from the BMSCs and characterized using nanoparticle tracking analysis, transmission electron microscopy, and Western blotting. Twenty-four healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into shamoperation group, testicular IRI with saline treatment group and IRI with exosome treatment group. The contralateral testes ofthe rats were collected for pathological observation, aseessment of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA), and detection of HMGB1, caspases-3 and cleaved caspase-3 expressions using Western blotting.

RESULTSWe successfullyobtained exosomes from rat BMSCs. Testicular IRI significantly impaired testicular spermatogenesis, which was markedlyimproved by treatment with the exosomes ( < 0.05). Testicular IRI also caused significant increase in the protein expression ofHMGB1, caspase-3 and cleaved caspase-3 in the testicular tissue, and treatment with the exosomes obviously amelioratedthese changes ( < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONSBMSCs-derived exosomes protects against testicular IRI due to the anti-oxidant, antiinflammatory and anti-apoptosis activities of the exosomes.

Objective To investigate the changes of immunologic functions and life qualities after the auto-cytokine induced killer (CIK) cells combined with interleukin-2 (IL-2) being transfused back to the patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods Thirty-eight NSCLC patients were enrolled,and 19 patients received not only chemotherapy and radiotherapy but also adoptive immunotherapy with CIK cells combined with IL-2 compared with the other 19 patients who only accepted radiotherapy and chemotherapy.The changes of immunologic functions and life qualities after the CIK cells combined with IL-2 being transfused back to the patients with NSCLC were observed.Immune targets of the treatment group and control group,such as peripheral blood CD3 +,CD4 +,CD8 + T cell percentage,ratio of CD4 +/CD8 + and Th1/Th2,were observed at the end and after 3 month of the radiation and chemotherapy.Results Both of the two groups were neither having obvious adverse reactions.After CIK cells combined with IL-2 treatment,the life qualities of patients improved,such as 18 cases of mental improvement,15 cases of appetite improvement,12 cases of sleep improvement,and 3 cases of fatigue symptoms improvement.The percentage of CD3 +,CD4 + cells in the treatment group increased [(66.39 ± 9.22) ％ vs (42.98 ± 7.23) ％,t =5.45,P =0.00 ; (32.27 ± 3.75) ％ vs (26.38 ±2.51)％,t =5.73,P =0.00],the percentage of CD8 + cells declined [(17.51 ± 1.85)％ vs (20.90 ± 2.31) ％,t =5.21,P =0.00],the rate of CD4 +/CD8 + increased and the rate of Th1/Th2 obversed [(1.86±0.32) vs (1.27±0.19),t=7.13,P=0.00;(1.15±0.48) vs (0.91 ±0.30),t=2.42,P=0.02].There were significant differences between the two groups.Conclusion Adoptive immunotherapy with CIK cells combined with IL-2 is safe in clinical,which can improve the immunologic functions and life qualities of the patients with NSCLC.

OBJECTIVETo compare the clinical effect of the double eyelid blepharoplasty with central minimal incision and with three minimal incisions. Methods: From Jul. 2010 to May 2012, 268 cases (Group A) received double eyelid blepharoplasty with central minimal incision, while 102 cases (Group B) underwent double eyelid blepharoplasty with three minimal incisions. Photos were taken immediately, and 1,2, 4, 8,12 weeks after operation. Operation time, recovery time and postoperative complications were evaluated and recorded. The operation time and recovery time were analyzed by Wilcoxon rank sum test. The postoperative complications were analyzed by chi square test. The satisfactory degree was analyzed by t test.

RESULTSThe operation time in Group A was (25.63 ± 3.74) min, compared with that (29.90 ± 4.13) min in Group B (Z = -8.011, P <0.01). Meanwhile, the recovery time in Group A was shorter than that in Group B (Z = -15.887, P <0.01). The occurrence rate of postoperative complications,including hematoma,recurrence and scar hyperplasia in Group A was also lower than that in Group B. At the same time, the satisfactory degree in Group A was(97.302 ± 1.764), which was higher than that(88.628 10.880) in Group B (t = 12.650, P <0.05).

CONCLUSIONSThe double eyelid blepharoplasty with central minimal incision, which is suitable for all cases except those who has serious blepharochalsais, has more advantages than double eyelid blepharoplasty with three minimal incisions.

OBJEVTIVETo investigate the expression of cysteine-rich secretory protein 2 (CRISP2) in spermatozoa of patients with asthenozoospermia and explore its clinical significance.

METHOSSemen samples were collected from 24 normal volunteers and 24 patients with asthenozoospermia for detecting CRISP2 mRNA and protein expressions using qRT-PCR and Western blotting, respectively. The correlation of CRISP2 expressions with sperm morphology, progressive motility and fertility prognosis were analyzed in patients with asthenozoospermia.

RESULTSCRISP2 protein expression was obviously lowered in the ejaculated spermatozoa of patients with asthenozoospermia as compared to the normal volunteers, but no significant difference in CRISP2 mRNA expression was found between the two groups. Correlation analysis showed that CRISP2 protein expression was positively correlated with normal sperm morphology (r=0.6182, P=0.0037) and progressive motility (r=0.6309, P=0.0029). Follow-up study of the patients revealed a higher fertility rate in patients with a relatively high CRISP2 protein expression than in those with low CRISP2 protein expression (80.0% vs 20.0%, P=0.0230).

CONCLUSIONThe expression level of CRISP2 protein is positively correlated with normal sperm morphology and progressive motility. A reduced CRISP2 protein expression indicates poor fertility prognosis of patients with asthenozoospermia, suggesting the potential value of CRISP2 as a novel therapeutic target for treating asthenozoospermia.

Objective To explore the etiology,mechanism and treatment of diarrhea after(pancreatoduodenectomy).Methods Based on the clinical data of 159 cases of pancreatoduodenectomy(performed) in the recent one and half years,the pathogenesis of post-pancreatoduodenectomy diarrhea was(analyzed) and the effect of different treatments was observed.Results Seventy-one cases had diarrhea,with an incidence of 44.7%.Tweenty-two cases had bacterial infection of the intestinal tract and 4 cases had fungus infection.The incidence of infection was 36.6%.In 64 cases diarrhea was relieved with effective treatment,accounting for 90.1% of all cases.Seven cases with chronic diarrhea had additional treatment with oral pancreatic enzyme and symptoms were relieved 2 weeks after treatment.Conclusions Diarrhea is frequently observed in patients after pancreatoduodenectomy,and the majority of them can be cured with(treatment) selected according to the pathogenesis.
