1.Comparison of Three Methods to Determine Cholesterol with High Density Lipoprotein
Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(03):-
Three methods to determine HDL-Ch, polyethylene glycol precipitation, he-parin-Mn*, and sodium phosphotungstate-magnesium, were compared. It was found that when 20 g/dl (20%) PEG-6000 was mixed with equal volume of serum and the mixture was centrifuged, well seperation of HDL-Ch could be obtained even the serum triglyceride level in a sample was as high as 1000mg/dl. Since this method is easy to manipulate and the reagent is stable, it is suitable to be used in hospital labs as aroutine procedure.
2.Significance of Serum Cholesterol and Lp-X Quantitation in Differential Diagnosis of Cholestasis
Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(03):-
Serum concentrations of total and ester cholesterol and Lp-X of 82 hepatobi-liary diseases were determined. It shewed that the levels cf total cholesterol and LP-X in cholestasis due to extrahepatic obstruction are significantly higher than that in intrahepatic cholestasis. Both levels exceeded 200 mg/dl in 12 out of 18 cases of extrahepatic obstruction caused by carcinoma, but they never exceeded 200 mg/dl in 41 cases of intrahepatic cholestasis.Quantitation of both Lp-X and total cholesterol in cholestasis appears to provide more informafions than the determination of other one of them alone. Determination of free or ester cholesterol gives little clinical value in distin-quishing extrahepatic from intrahepatic cholestasis.

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(02):-
A fructosamine (DMF) method for the estimation of Serum glycosylated LDL (GLDL) is reported. The glycosylated rate of LDL (K value) is equal to GLDL/LDL. It is concluded that fructosamine method for the estimation of GLDL and K value is more convenient, fast, and has a high specificity, and is not interfered by glutathione, other reducing substances with low melecular weight, and the variation of serum proteins. GLDL and K value are thus suggested to be a better indicator for the diagnosis and evaluation of treatment in diabetes mellitus than the glycosylated serum total proteins.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1983;0(04):-
Male Wistar rats were randomized into 3 groups:The rats of group I received sham burning to serve as the control and those of groups and Ⅲ were inflicted with 20% and 30% TBSA third degree phosphorus burns respectively. No treatment was given to group Ⅱ.Group Ⅲwas further divided into 2:The rats of subgroup Ⅰ were debrided immediately and those of subgroup Ⅱ in the 6th hour postburn. The findings were as follows;(l)The tissue content of phosphorus was more significantly decreased in subgroup Ⅰ than in subgroup Ⅱ-(2)Twenty-eight rats of subgroup Ⅰ all survived while 9 of the 44 rats of subgroup Ⅱ died with a mortality rate of 20.5%.The mortality rate of group Ⅱ was 37.5%(3/8).(3)The recovery of serum electrolytes and other biochemical parameters occurred earlier in subgroup I.Our findings suggest that debridement as early as possible after phosphorus burns contributes significantly to the decrease of the victims mortality.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of fire-needle therapy in treating scapulohumeral periarthritis, and to observe the changes of pain score and the motor function of shoulder joint. Method Totally 180 patients were randomized into a fire-needle therapy group of 90 cases and a filiform needle group of 90 cases by randomized single-blinded method. Result There were significant differences between the two groups in comparing the recovery rate, motor function of shoulder joint, and the relapse rate 30 d after the whole intervention (P<0.01), while there were no significant differences in Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score and total effective rate (P>0.05). Conclusion Compared to filiform needle therapy, fire-needle therapy can produce a better recovery rate and motor function of shoulder joint in treating scapulohumeral periarthritis.

In this paper, a series of low-molecular-weight PEG-PCL-PEG triblock copolymers were successfully synthesized by ring-opening polymerization method, and were characterized using 1H-NMR and FTIR. The aqueous solution displayed specific thermosensitive gel-sol transition when the concentration was above corresponding critical gel concentration (CGC). The gel-sol phase diagram was recorded using test tube-inverting method, which was depended on the hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance in macromolecular structure, as well as heating history. As a result, the gel-sol transition temperature range could be altered, which might be very useful for its application as injectable drug delivery system.

Objective To explore the relationship between heart rate variability (HRV),heart rate turbulence (HRT) and blood pressure (BP) control in hypertensive patients. Methods Hypertensive patients with controlled BP group (n =50) and uncontrolled BP group (n =40) and control group non-hypertensive patients (n =52)were enrolled in this study in our hospital during June 2015 to June 2016.HRV and HRT as well as clinical characteristic of the three groups were analyzed. Results (1) Body mass index was significantly higher in the controlled BP group than in the control group. There was no statistical difference in proportions and categories of antihypertensive medication between the uncontrolled and controlled BP groups (P > 0.05).(2) VLF,LF and TS were significantly lower in the uncontrolled BP group than the control group, and HF was significantly lower in the uncontrolled BP group than in the controlled BP group (P < 0.05).(3) Results of muhiple logistic regression analysis showed that lower rMSSD,pNN50,VLF,LF,HF and TS were risk factors for BP control after adjusting for gender, age,EF value, creatinine, blood lipids,Beta-blockers and history of smoking, coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus.(4) Spearman correlation analysis of the hypertensive patients showed that LF was negatively correlated with TO,and SDNN,SDANN,rMSSD,pNN50,VLF,LF,HF were positively correlated with TS.Conclusion The present results demonstrate that uncontrolled BP is associated with abnormal HRV and HRT,which suggested autonomous nervous imbalance was existed in uncontrolled hypertensive patients.
