The bed rest has been considered essentialfor the conventional treatment ot acute hepatitis. Previously, it was thought that earlieractivity would prolorng the disease course and exaggerat the disease. The patients should not be allowed to perform physical activity until live -function recoveryed. But clinical practice indicated appropriate exercise can improve immune function the aute hepatitis patients who erformedthe exercise had shorter disease course ,ther quicker recovery of physical strength and they showed trends in recovery of liver function thepatientients who didn perform exercise show no ehanges. Therefore , we considered appropriate exercise therapy is very essential for the treat-ment of acute hepatitis. Exercise should be recognized as an equally impo rtant treatment modality of the infectious hepatitis.

International Journal of Surgery 2009;36(11):778-781
claudin protein is the major component of tight junctions complex between cells, which plays an important role in cells junction and adhesion. Its specific expression in different tissues directly affects the biological behavior of tumor cells. In pancreatic tumors, the claudin's expression provides an important refer-ence for the diagnosis and treatment of tumors. In addition, claudin are involved in the proliferation and ap-optosis of tumor cells. In the treatment of tumors, claudin-mediated targeting therapy has great prospects forthe same.

Most of apoplexy patients have suffered limb spastic-paralysis for a long time, which impacts their activity and emotion seriously. However, the instruments of evaluating apoplexy spastic-paralysis used come from abroad mostly. These instruments are not special for apoplexy spastic-paralysis patients, and that there is a lack of patients' experience. Therefore,it is urgent to develop a Patient Reported Outcomes(PRO)instrument specially for apoplexy spastic-paralysis patients.

To review the progress in the metablism of natural products by intestinal bacteria.METHOD: According to the recent literatures on this subject, the metablism of flavonoids, saponins, lignans, iridoid glucosides, etc, was summarized and evaluated.RESUL TS:Natural products can be biotransformed into some new compounds by intes tinal bacteria, which may have pharmacological or toxicological activities. CONCLUSION:Many natural products may be metabolized in vivo and are called prodrugs. The intestinal bacteria may be of great significance in determining th e metabolic fate of natural drugs.

Background and purpose:Hepatocellular carcinoma suppressor gene-1(HCCS1)is a potential hepatocellular carcinoma supressor gene, and it also plays an important role in sorting of some cytoplasmic proteins. Its carcinoma suppressor function may be related to its sorting function. So it is important to identify the minimum region of functional sequence in HCCS1 that related to the transportation. Methods:The expression vectors containing various lengths of HCCS1 gene were constructed and transfected into HeLa cells mediated by liposomes. The localizations of different HCCS1 fragments and the colocalizations of M6PR with various truncated HCCS1 were determined by laser scanning confocal microscopy,respectively.Results:10 different expression vectors containing various lengths of HCCS1 gene were successfully constructed,it had been shown that the polar localization of HCCS1 protein and the co-localizations with M6PR disappeared when HCCS1 gene was truncated to 1 120 bp from the 3'end by laser scanning confocal microscopy. Conclusions:We identified the minimum localization of the HCCS1 functional sequence that related to the transportation.

Background and purpose:Wuxing soup is popular for it's anti-cancer effect in folk medicine and deserved to be further studied by modern scientific methods. This research aimed to explore its anti-cancer effect and to study the influence on the immunity of melanoma in mice. Methods :Inhibition of different ingredients and concentrations of Wuxing soup on the growth of the mouse melanoma B16 cells was detected by MTT in vitro.Animal experiment was performed to determine its anti-cancer effect in vivo.C57/BL6 mice were randomly divided into three groups after vaccination of B16 cell, and then given intragastrically with different soups for 25 days. All mice were killed on day 26 after inoculation. The weight of tumors were recorded. The anti-tumor immune function was measured by T lymphocyte transforming assay and NK killing assay. The different effect of different ingredients was also observed. Results :Our result showed that different ingredients soup exerted different inhibition on B16 cell growth and Wuxing soup was the strongest one of all and in dose-dependent manner in vitro. The animal experiment indicated that different ingredients soup has different inhibition on melanoma, the soup-treated mouse display improved T lymphocyte transforming assay and NK killing ability.Among the different soups,Wuxing soup showed the strongest anti-cancer effect and immune enhancement. Conclusions :Wuxing soup is an effective anti-cancer agent in melanoma mice and can enhance the immunity of the mice with melanoma.

Objectives Todynamicallyobservethechangesofhemodynamicparametersinpatients with severe stenosis of unilateral middle cerebral artery (MCA)by transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) andtoevaluateandanalyzetherelatedfactorsforinfluencingthestenoticprocess. Methods Atotalof 113 consecutive patients with severe stenosis of unilateral MCA screened by TCD and confirmed by computed tomography angiography (CTA)and digital subtraction angiography (DSA)were enrolled retrospectively. They were divided into either a progressive group (n =43 )or a non-progressive group (n=90)according to the variation of MCA hemodynamic parameters. The effects of age, sex, major risk factors for cerebrovascular disease, clinical symptoms, clinical medication, and drug compliance on the stenotic process were documented and analyzed. Results (1)The comparison of detection rate of the risk factors for cerebrovascular disease:The patients with a history of smoking (72. 1%[n=31])in the progressive group was significantly higher than that (51. 1%[n=46])in the non-progressive group (P=0.022). The period of smoking of the patients in the progressive group were longer than that in the non-progressive group (28 ± 12 years vs. 21 ± 10 years,P=0. 011). (2)Comparison of MCA hemodynamic parameters:The distal pulsatility indexes of MCA stenosis at the first diagnosis in the progressive group were all lower than those in the non-progressive group (0. 66 ± 0. 10 vs. 0. 70 ± 0. 13;t= -2. 096,P=0. 038),and the distal pulsatility indexes of MCA stenosis at the end point in the patients of the progressive group were lower than those in the non-progressive group (0. 61 ± 0. 15 vs. 0. 74 ± 0. 15). There were significant differences (t=-2. 718,P= 0. 008). The peak systolic velocity (PSV)of the progressive MCA stenotic segments at the end point in 10 patients of the progressive group was higher than that in the non-progressive group (299 ± 23 cm/s vs. 244 ± 50 cm/s,t=3. 437;P=0. 001),while PSV of MCA in 33 patients with occlusion in the progressive group were significantly lower than those in the non-progressive group (56 ± 18 cm/s vs. 244 ± 50 cm/s,t= -20. 905;P=0. 000). (3)The regular medication:The patients using statins (atorvastatin calcium)were significantly lower than those of the non-progressive group (2. 3%[n=1] vs. 54. 4%[n=49],χ2 =33. 690;P<0. 01). (4)During the follow up period, the recurrence rates of transient ischemic attack and stroke of the progressive group were significantly higher than those of the non-progressive group (27. 9%[n=12]vs. 6. 7%[n=6],32. 6%[n=14]vs. 2. 2%[n=2];all P<0.01). (5)Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that smokers (OR,4. 403,95%CI 1. 094-14.017),cerebrovascular event recurrence (OR,10. 648,95%CI 2. 530 -41. 261),and irregularly taking statins (OR,5. 675,95%CI 1. 631-152. 740)were all closely associated with the progress of severeMCAstenosis. Conclusion EvaluationofthehemodynamicchangesofsevereMCAstenosiswith TCD follow up study can be used as an important basis for clinical assessment of the outcomes. Stop smoking and regularly taking statins may help to delay the progress of MCA stenosis.
