Objective To develop the public mood scale and test its reliability and validity,and explore the components construct of the public mood.Methods 423 college students responded to the inventory.Correlation analysis,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were applied to the data analysis.Results Public mood scale was consisted of two dimensions,positive emotions and negative emotions.Factor analysis indicated that the two factors explain 61.3％ of the variance with factor loading ranging from 0.68 to 0.86;The Cronbach' s coefficients of positive and negative public mood were 0.81 and 0.76 respectively; Conffirmatory factor analysis indicated that the public mood scale had ideal structure validity.Joint factor analysis showed that public mood and personal mood were separated.Positive public mood had positive correlations with Big Five personalities,which were extraversion,agreeableness,responsibility and openness (r =0.22-0.33,P＜ 0.01),negative correlation was found between neuroticism and positive public mood(r=-0.25,P＜0.01).Positive public mood had significant positive correlation with government satisfaction,economic development confidence and social stability(r=0.34-0.45,P＜0.01),while they had significant negative correlations with negative public mood (r =-0.32--0.24,P＜ 0.01).Conclusion The public mood scale obtained in the present study has ideal validities and reliabilities and it is suitable to assess the public mood.

Objective To investigate the antimicrobial and antioxidant activity of the water extract and ethanol extract of the powder of G.lucidum.Analysis and comparison of two kinds of antibacterial and antioxidative effects of the extracts.Methods G.lucidum powder was prepared by using a pulverizer and extracted with water and ethanol respectively.The inhibitory effects of water extract and alcohol extract of G.lucidum on the tested strains were determined by TTC method.The antioxidant activities of aqueous extract and ethanol extract of G.lucidum were determined by DPPH and FRAP.Results The minimum inhibitory concentration ( MIC) of the aqueous extracts and ethanol extracts of G.lucidum were 32 mg/mL and 16 mg/mL, respectively.The MIC for S.Aureus respectively was 64 mg/mL and 32 mg/mL, the MIC for M.luteus respectively was 32 mg/mL and 8 mg/mL, MIC for B.terom respectively was 64 mg/mL and 8 mg/mL, The MIC of B.subtilis respectively was 32 mg/mL and 8 mg/mL.The antioxidant activity of G.lucidum powder extract and ethanol extract showed good antioxidant activity, the scavenging radical capacities on DPPH of the water extract and ethanol extract were 56.22%and 20.67% at a concentration of 2 mg/mL ( P<0.5 ) , the FRAP value respectively were 3.52 and 3.77 mmol/mL. Conclusion The powder of G.lucidum has the effective antimicrobial activity and antioxidant activity.The two kinds of extracts extract of G.lucidum had good antibacterial activity and antioxidant activity.The ethanol extract of G.lucidum powder antimicrobial effect and total antioxidative ability in water extracts, aqueous extract of Ganoderma lucidum granules on DPPH free radical scavenging rate better than that of ethanol extract.

Objective To compare the anti-tumor activity and antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts of F.veluties and A.auricula.Methods Three human carcinoma cell lines, including MCF-7, HeLa and A375 were assessed by MTT assay to measure cell viability.The antioxidant activity was detected with a DPPH and RFAP assays.Results Two domestic fungus have different anti-tumor activity on the inhibition of MCF-7, HeLa and A375 cells at 25-400μg/mL concentration rage.F.velutipes was better than the A.auricula.The difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05 ).Compared with the control group, the inhibition of F.velutipes were 48.20%, 52.61%and 50.58%at the concentration of 400μg/mL, respectively (P<0.01).At the same concentration, the inhibition of A.auricula were 37.62%、50.21%and 41.59%, respectively (P<0.01).The ethanol extracts of two domestic fungus have significant antioxidant activity.F.velutipes was better than the A.auricula.The difference was statistically significant ( P<0.01 ).Compared with the control group, the scavenging radical capacities on DPPH of ethanol extracts of F.velutipes and A.auricula were 60.30%and 40.43%at the concentration of 1.6 mg/mL, respectively (P<0.01).At the same concentration FRAP value were 9.5 and 7.0 mmol/mL(P<0.01).Conclusion The F.velutipes and A.auricula both have strong anti-tumor and antioxidant activities, F.velutipes is better than A.auricula.

BACKGROUND:Accumulative evidence supports that co-culture technology can be applied to construct the tissue-engineered cartilage with excellent biological characters. OBJECTIVE:To elaborate the co-culture concept and conclude and analyze seed cell sources, cel mixed ratio, spatial y-defined co-culture models and biomaterials in co-culture systems to conclude and analyze the biological characters of tissue-engineered cartilage, and to prospect progression of co-culture systems in cartilage tissue engineering. METHODS:The first author retrieved the databases of PubMed, Web of Science, and CNKI for relative papers published from January 1976 to May 2016 using the keywords ofco-culture, co-culture systems;articular cartilage, chondrocytes, mesenchymal stem cells;tissue engineering, articular cartilage tissue engineeringin English and Chinese, respectively. Finally 60 literatures were included in result analysis, including 1 Chinese and 59 English articles. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Co-culture technology emphasizes the role of microenvironment in terms of various physical, chemical and biological factors in the cell processing. In cartilage tissue engineering, co-culture systems contribute to maintain the viability and natural cell phenotype of chondrocytes and induce cartilage differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells. In addition, co-culture technology provides a novel way for cartilage tissue engineering to overcome the shortage of chondrocytes and repair injury to the cartilage-subchondral bone. However, the mechanisms of cell-cell interaction in co-culture systems still need to be explored in depth, so as to optimize the co-culturing conditions and construct perfect tissue-engineered cartilage.

Objective To analyze the clinical and anatomic characteristics of bridging bronchus (BB) malformation in children,and to explore its diagnostic strategy,treatment and risk factors.Methods A retrospective study was performed in 23 pediatric patients with BB who were admitted to Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center form May 2010 to October 2016.All their clinical features,imaging examination,treatment and prognosis were reviewed and analyzed.Results (1) Among the 23 patients with BB,15 were males and 8 were females.The age range of onset was 0 to 4 years old with a median age of 3.17 months.(2)The main clinical manifestations were cough (23/23 cases,100.0％),recurrent wheezing (20/23 cases,87.0％),cyanosis (8/23 cases,34.8％) and feeding diffficulty/slow body weight growth (6/23 cases,24.6％).(3) There were 17 cases of type Ⅰ and 4 cases of type Ⅱ according to Wells,and the other 2 cases were anterior BB.There were 2 cases with atypical anatomical morphology in type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ respectively.(4) Twenty-one cases were associated with bronchial stenosis in which the origin of left main bronchus complicated with BB stenosis was the most common(5 cases).Bronchoscopy revealed bronchomalacia in 5 of the 16 patients.Sixteen patients associated with cardiac or vascular anomalies,11 of whom were compound anomalies,and the most common type was sling left pulmonary artery (SLPA) (12 cases).(5) Nine of 12 patients with SLPA received surgical management,ages ranging from 1 month to 8 years old.The respiratory symptoms remitted gradually or disappeared from 4 to 17 months after surgical management.Two died and one has been lost to follow-up among the remaining 3 patients with SLPA.Conclusions BB is a rare tracheobronchial malformation that is often associated with stenosis or bronchomalacia,and cardiac or vascular anomalies.The severity of the disease mainly depends on whether there is airway stenosis or malacia and its extent.The definitive diagnosis of BB requires the combination of different imaging modalities.The combination with simple SLPA could get better curative effect.

Osteoporosis is a systemic metabolic osteopathy characterized by low bone mineral density, leading to an increased risk of bone fractures. The study on the treatment of osteoporosis is mostly a research hotspot, and traditional Chinese medicine in treatment of this disease has its distinctive ascendancy. A large quantity of research indicates that the effect of Longspur epimeium (LE) for treatment of osteoporosis is definite. In this article, the authors summarized the drug components, the results of experimental research and clinical trial of LE for treatment of osteoporosis in recent years.

Objective This study aimed at exploring the causative genes and summarizing the clinical characteristics in two Chinese families with thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection ( TAAD ) .Methods The whole exome capture and high throughput sequencing were applied to identify the causative gene.Family members were examined for features of syndromic ge-netic diseases by clinician and geneticist.Results Four known TAAD candidate genes were identified in family TAA01:rs140598(FBN1), rs185661462(MYH11), rs77620762(MYLK3), and rs111426349(TGFBR1).The TGFBR1 mutation (c.1459C>T) had been confirmed to co-segregate with the TAAD phenotype in all affected family members.Early onset of aortic root dilatation was significant in this family , and the average age at diagnosis of aortic root dilatation or aneurysm was23. 2 years.ACTA2(c.445C>T) was proved in family TAA02, and livedo reticularis was confirmed.Conclusion The causa-tive genes were identified via whole exome capture and high throughput sequencing in two TAAD families .Early onset of aortic root aneurysm was proved in TAA01, while livedo reticularis was found in TAA02.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of prucalopride in the treatment of severe chronic constipation.Methods The clinical data of 60 patients with severe chronic constipation [slow transit constipation (STC), functional defecation disorder (FDD) and constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C)] who were admitted to the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine from February to August 2014 were prospectively analyzed.A prospective, clinical observational study was performed.Treatment plans included that patients withdrew the initial treatments of laxative and exema and took orally 2 mg prucalopride once daily for 2 weeks, and continued to be treated by oral prucalopride if frequency of the spontaneous complete bowel movement (SCBM) per week was satisfactory (or improvement of symptoms was more than 50％) till 4 weeks, and then were followed up after stopping prucalopride.If improvement of symptoms was less than 50％ after 2-week treatment, other treatment plans were performed according to symptoms of patients from week 3 to week 6 : (1) for patients with STC, prucalopride + two chain bacillus subtilis probiotic capsules were administered orally if patients were satisfied with frequency of SCBM per week and without improvement of abdominal distension;prucalopride + Chinese herb decoction were administered orally if patients had improvement of frequency of SCBM per week with abdominal distension or poor stool output;oral prucalopride + acupuncture were administered if patients were unsatisfied with frequency of SCBM per week or less bowel movements and without improvement of abdominal distension or poor stool output.(2) For patients with FDD, oral prucalopride + acupuncture + biofeed-back therapy were administered.(3) For patients with IBS-C, prucalopride + two chain bacillus subtilis probiotic capsules were administered orally if patients had abdominal distension;prucalopride Chinese herb decoction were administered orally if patients had improvement of frequency of SCBM per week and no improvement of abdominal distension or poor stool output.All patients used a diary for recording the frequency of SCBM per week, stool consistence, exertion in defecation and adverse reactions, which was submitted to doctors for inputting data at the return visit weekly.Results There was good overall medicine compliance in patients.Of 60 patients, 43 patients completed treatments (21 with STC, 11 with FDD and 11 with IBS-C).After 2-week treatment, there were 19 patients with satisfied therapeutic effects, 14 with improvement of constipation and 10 with poor therapeutic effects.After 4-week treatment, constipation in 17 patients was cured, constipation in 18 patients was improved,and constipation in 8 patients was not improved.Nineteen of 60 patients were complicated with adverse reactions within 1 week of the medication, including 6 patients dropping out of the trial due to medication withdrawal and others with improvement by symptomatic treatment or spontaneous remission.Conclusions Prucalopride is effective for the treatment of severe chronic constipation with a good toleration, and it can improve the overall satisfaction of patients combined with Chinese herb decoction and acupuncture.

Objective To validate of the Chinese system for cardiac operative risk evaluation (SinoSCORE) in Cantonese surgery patients. Methods Data from Guangdong Cardiovascular Institute in the period January 2004 through December 2008 were analyzed on 2462 Cantonese heart surgery patients. First, compared risk factors of this series and database of SinoSCORE, and then calculated the additive score of each patients and evaluate the discrimination and calibration of sinoSCORE in Cantonese patients. Results There were some differences between the risk factors of patients from two groups. The gender,smoking, diabetes, hyperlipemia, hypertension, chronic pulmonary diseases, stroke, cardiovascular surgery history, left main disease, atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter, pulmonary arterial hypertension, concomitant coronary surgery and concomitant valve surgery in Cantonese patients were different between two groups. However, The SinoSCORE was able to predict the in-hospital mortality of senior patients with good discrimination ( Hosmer-Lemeshow test, P = 0. 34 ) and calibration ( the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, 0.84, P ＜ 0.01 ). Conclusion SinoSCORE was able to predict the in-hospital mortality of Cantonese heart surgery patients.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of full-length spleen tyrosine kinase [SYK (L)] mRNA and protein in human oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) as well as its possible effects on the invasion and metastasis of OSCC.

METHODSThe expression of SYK (L) was detected in 27 cases of OSCC tissues and its matched adjacent non-cancerous tissues by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), Western blot, and immunohistochemistry. Fourteen cases of normal oral gingival tissues were also analyzed as a normal control.

RESULTSReduced mRNA and protein expression of SYK (L) in OSCC tissues was observed compared with that in normal oral gingival tissues (P<0.01) and adjacent non-cancerous tissues (P<0.05). SYK(L) expression was significantly associated with lymph-node metastasis (P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONSYK(L) is a candidate tumor suppressor for OSCC tissues, and has an inhibitive effect on the initiation, proliferation, and lymph-node metastasis of human OSCC.
