Object To observe the effect of total flavones isolated from Metasequoia glyptostroboides Hu et Cheng (FMG) on platelet aggregation, 5 HT of release, content of NO in plasma and hemorrheological parameters in rats. Methods Platelet aggregation was quantified by turbidimetry, release of 5 HT was assayed by fluorescence technique, and content of NO in plasma was determined by spectrophotometry. Results Inhibition of platelet aggregation and release of 5 HT, increase of NO content in plasma, as well as decrease of whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, red cell electrophoresis time, red cell specific volume, red cell count and K value in ESR equation were observed in the acute blood stasis rat, thereby the rat's hemorrheological properties were improved. Conclusion FMG is able to inhibit the platelet aggregation and improve the hemorrheological parameters in acute blood stasis rat. The inhibition of release of 5 HT, increase of NO content in plasma and antagonistic action of Ca 2+ may be the mechanism of its actions.

Objective To explore the reconstructive methods of benign bone tumor defects in proximal joint. Methods Operative treatment was performed in 11 cases with benign bone tumor defects in proximal joint, a-mong whom 4 cases were treated by curettage,cauterization of wall and bone grafting,3 cases were treated by filling branch through segment fibula transplantation with vascular,2 cases were treated by fibula head transplantation with vascular to reconstruct the glenohumeral joint and rediocarpal joint, and 2 cases were treated by artificial joint re-placement. Results The follow-up ranged from 1.5 to 6 years. All of cases got excellent bone unioned without re-lapse and 2 cases of them developed with little limitation in joint function. Conclusion The importance and recon-structive achievement of fibula transplantation in treating the benign bone tumor defects in proximal joint should be thought fully. The indication of artificial tumor prosthesis replacement should be strictly mastered.

Drug reservation wag investigated in 2077 community residents.We found that most drugs were obtained from the hospitals(83.78%),kept at a relatively lower place(69.23%),packed in box(75.25%),and did not meet the storage requirement(72.60%).Half of the overdue drugs(median time,12 months)were used for internal treatment.This study suggests that there might be unsafe drug storage in communities.

Objective To know the changing characteristics of residents' iodine nutritional status after eating salt with different iodine concentrations in Hubei Province,according to the assessment standard of iodine nutrition recommended by WHO/UNICEF/ICCIDD provide a scientific standard for appropriate iodine concentration in edible salt.Methods According to inhabitants' salt and urine surveillance of Hubei in 2010,Xinzhou District,Tianmen City and Changyang County were selected for trial.Salt with two kinds of iodine content was used in 3 trial areas in 4 months for the study of community intervention.Before the intervention,3 months and 4 months after the intervention,urine samples of observed participants(40 from 8-10 old children,40 from pregnant women or lactating women and 40 from adults aged older than 18) were collected and tested.The urinary medians of different groups of people and at different times were calculated and compared.Results Three months and 4 months after the intervention,in those towns using iodized salt of (15 ± 3) mg/kg,the urinary medians of children,declined from 294.2 μg/L to 185.6,195.7 μg/L,respectively.The urinary medians of pregnant women or lactating women dropped from 269.0 μg/L to 141.7,176.1 μg/L.For adults aged 18 and older,the urinary medians changed from 304.9 μg/L to 199.7,202.2 μg/L.In those trial towns of using (25 ± 3)mg/kg iodized salt,the urinary medians of children,pregnant women or lactating women and adults older than 18 all went down from 301.1 μg/L to 229.7,253.8 μg/L,from 261.4.0 μg/L to 196.6 and 206.5 μg/L and from 379.7 μg/L to 244.3,237.4 μg/L,respectively.Conclusions According to the assessment standard of iodine nutrition recommended by WHO/UNICEF/ICCIDD and the decreasing of urinary iodine median and per capita daily salt intake,salt with 25 mg/kg iodine is suitable as the average level of salt iodine concentration after the adjustment in Hubei Province.

Objective To evaluate the role of neuron-restrictive silencer factor (NRSF) in the spinal cord in remifentanil-induced hyperalgesia in a mouse model of incisional pain (IP) .Methods Fifty-six male Kunming mice were randomly divided into 7 groups (n=8 each):control group (group C) ,IP group (group I) ,IP +remifentanil group (group IR ) , NRSF antisense oligonucleotide group (NAS group ) , IP + NRSF antisense oligonucleotide group (I+NAS group ) ,IP + remifentanil + NRSF mismatch oligonucleotide group (IR+NMS group) , and IP + remifentanil + NRSF antisense oligonucleotide group (IR + NAS group ) . Artificial cerebrospinal fluid 5 μl was injected intrathecally once a day for 3 consecutive days in C ,I and IR groups .NRSF antisense oligonucleotide NAS 10μg was injected intrathecally once a day for 3 consecutive days in NAS ,I+NAS and IR + NAS groups . NRSF mismatch oligonucleotide 10 μg was injected intrathecally once a day for 3 consecutive days in IR+NMS group .A 1-cm longitudinal incision was made through skin ,fascia and muscle of the plantar aspect of the right hindpaw to establish the model of incisional pain in sevoflurane-anesthetized rats .At 30 min after the last injection ,normal saline 0.4 ml was infused subcutaneously in C and NAS groups ,the model was established and normal saline 0.4 ml was subcutaneously infused simultaneously in I and I+NAS groups ,and the model was established and remifentanil 0.04 mg/kg was subcutaneously infused simultaneously in IR ,IR+NMS and IR+NAS groups .At 3 days before operation (T0 ) ,4 h before operation (T1 ) and 4 ,12 ,24 and 48 h after operation (T1-5 ) ,mechanical paw withdrawal threshold to von Frey stimuli (PMWT ) and paw withdrawal latency to thermal nociceptive stimulus (PTWL ) were measured .Results Compared with C group ,the PWMT and PWTL were significantly decreased at T2-5 in I ,IR ,I+NAS ,IR+NMS and IR+NAS groups ( P<0.05) ,and no significant change was found in the PWMT and PWTL at each time point in NAS group ( P>0.05 ) .Compared with I group ,the PWMT and PWTL were significantly decreased at T2-5 in IR and IR+NMS groups ( P<0.05) , and no significant change was found in the PWMT and PWTL at each time point in I +NAS group ( P>0.05) . Compared with IR group ,no significant change was found in the PWMT and PWTL at each time point in IR+NMS group ( P>0.05) ,and the PWMT and PWTL were significantly increased at T2-5 in IR+NAS group ( P<0.05) . Conclusion NRSF in the spinal cord is involved in the development and maintenance of hyperalgesia induced by remifentanil in a mouse model of IP .

Objective:To compare the effect of a knee-ankle-foot orthosis (KAFO) and a paraplegic walking orthosis (WO) on the walking ability and the physiological cost index (PCI) of persons suffering from AIS A-B spinal cord injury (SCI) at the L 2 level. Methods:Thirty subjects with AIS A-B SCI at L 2, aged 20 to 45, were assigned randomly into a KAFO group ( n=15) or a WO group ( n=15). All received muscle strength, range of motion, standing, balance and weight shifting training and training in the activities of daily life. Electrotherapy and acupuncture were also administered. Both groups underwent 60 minutes of walking training 6 times per week for 12 weeks, wearing either a KAFO or a WO. Step length, gait speed, step frequency, 10-metre walk time, 6-minute walk distance and PCI were compared after 2 and 12 weeks. Results:The average step length, gait speed, step frequency, 10-metre walk time, 6-minute walk distance and PCI of both groups had improved significantly between the 2-week and 12-week evaluations, with significantly greater average improvement among the WO group at both time points.Conclusion:A WO or KAFO facilitates better walking after an AIS A-B spinal cord injury at L 2. Wearing a WO is more effective than wearing a KAFO, on average.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the changes of Mu-opioid receptor (Mor) and neuron-restrictive silencer factor (NRSF) in periaquductal gray (PAG) in mouse models of remifentanil-induced postoperative hyperalgesia. METHODS: Thirty-two Kun-Ming mice were randomly divided into 4 groups (8 mice in each group): Group C (mice underwent a sham procedure and saline was infused subcutaneously over a period of 30 min), Group I (mice underwent a surgical incision and the same volume of saline), Group R (mice underwent a sham procedure and remifentanil was infused subcutaneously at the moment of surgical incision over a period of 30 min), and group IR (mice underwent a surgical incision and remifentanil). Paw withdrawal mechanical threshold (PWMT) and paw withdrawal thermal latency (PWTL) tests were performed 24 h before the operation and 2, 6, 24, and 48 h after the operation. The specimens were collected after behavioral testings at 48 h. The expressions of Mor and NRSF in mice's PAG neurons were determined by Western blot. RESULTS: Mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia developed in Group I, R and IR (P<0.01). Intraoperative infusion of remifentanil enhanced mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia in mice with planta incision (P<0.01). In Group R and Group IR, the expression of Mor was significantly lower (P<0.01) and NRSF was significantly higher (P<0.01) when compared with Group C and Group I. CONCLUSION Intraoperative infusion of remifentanil induces postoperative hyperalgesia in mouse models, accompanied with decreased expressions of Mor and increased of NRSF level in PAG neurons, which may be involved in remifentanil induced hyperalgesia.

Objective:To seek specific response points on the body surface of patients with primary dysmenorrhea(PD)by observing blood perfusion unit(PU)at different points of the three Yin meridians of foot using laser speckle contrast imaging(LSCI). Methods:Eighty PD patients were recruited as a PD group,and 80 healthy female undergraduates were taken as a normal group.During one menstrual cycle(before menstruation,during menstruation,and 3 d after menstruation),each participant was examined using the LSCI system to determine PU at bilateral Taixi(KI3),Taibai(SP3),Taichong(LR3),Shuiquan(KI5),Diji(SP8),Zhongdu(LR6),Sanyinjiao(SP6),and Xuehai(SP10)and non-acupuncture points.The researchers in charge of point location,operation,and statistical analysis were not aware of grouping.PU at the detection spots was taken as the outcome measure. Results:Compared with the normal group,the PD group showed increases in PU at right Taixi(KI3)before menstruation(P<0.05)and at bilateral Zhongdu(LR6)and right Diji(SP8)during menstruation(P<0.05).At the other time points,significance was not found between the two groups in comparing PU at the detected spots. Conclusion:Compared with healthy participants,PD patients present specific changes in PU at Taixi(KI3),Diji(SP8),and Zhongdu(LR6)at specific time points during the menstrual cycle,which provides a reference for acupuncture-moxibustion treatment of PD in clinical settings.
