Wave intensity (WI) is a hemodynamic index, the method of WI measurement is a real-time system in the basis of the eTRACKING technology, which provides the appearance of haemodynamics ahout heart and blood vascular system and their linear correlation with inner diameter-pressure. The research advantages and the application of WI were reviewed in this article.

AIM: To compare the effects of histamine and its antagonists on tension of isolated rabbit basilar and mesenteric artery in vitro, and to observe the role of Ca 2+ in histamine induced response. METHODS: The dose response curves induced by histamine were recorded on the isolated rabbit central and peripheral arteries in different doses of diphenhydramine, cimitidine, and nifidipine. RESULTS: Histamine could cause contraction of basilar and mesenteric isolated arteries. Diphenhydramine and nifidipine antagonized these effects, while cimitidine enhanced this effect. CONCLUSION: There may be different receptors densities in different rabbit arteries; histamine shows the vasoconstrictive effect on both brain and mesenteric arteries; and the vasoconstrictive effect mainly produces via Ca 2+ inflax.

AIM： To investigate the different expressions of cell cycle related genes in hyperplastic and hypertrophic vascular smooth muscle cells caused by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF-BB) and angiotensinⅡ(AngⅡ). METHODS: Rat aorta media smooth muscle cells were cultured. PDGF-BB and AngⅡ were added into serum-free medium at a concentration of 20 μg/L and 10-6 mol/L , respectively. Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) were harvested after stimulated for 24 hours. The expression of cell cycle related genes was measured by DNA chips(Atlas cDNA Expression Arrays, Clontech Laboratories, Inc.). RESULTS: The expression of cyclin D3 mRNA ，cyclin G1 mRNA，p57 mRNA，p16 mRNA，E2F-3 mRNA and DP2 mRNA were higher in PDGF-BB than those in AngⅡstimulated VSMCs. p15 mRNA，p19 mRNA，E2F-1 mRNA， E2F-5mRNA,and N-myc mRNA were only detected in PDGF-BB stimulated group. But the expression of p53-associated protein mRNA were higher in AngⅡstimulation group. The expression of PCNA mRNA, c-myc binding protein mRNA，p53-dependent cell growth regulater mRNA，cyclinC mRNA, cyclinB1 mRNA, E2F-3mRNA were similar in the two groups. CONCLUSION: The procession of cell cycle relys on the coordination of many regulater molecules expressed in different phases. Our study preliminarily definite the genes that express during PDGF-stimulated VSMC's hyperplasia and Ang II-stimulated VSMC's hypertrophy.

Objective:To explore the protective effects and mechanisms of salidroside on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury in middle cerebral artery occlusive(MCAO)rats.Methods:Focal cerebral ischemia in rats was produced by 1.5 h occlusion of the middle cerebral artery and 24 h reperfusion.Salidroside was administered intravenously immediately after occlusion and reperfusion respectively.The neurologic deficit scores were investigated according to Zea-Longa's Standard.The infarct areas were assessed with software Imagepro Plus 6.0 after TTC staining.And the activities of inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)as well as glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)were determined by specific kit.The levels of B cell lymphoma/lewkmia-2(Bcl-2)and Bcl-2 assaciated X protein(Bax)in central neutral system were assessed by western blot.Results:Compared with the model group,salidroside could decrease the neurologic deficit score,reduced the infarct areas of the brain in MCAO-I/R rats,increased the activity of GSH-Px and decreased the activity of iNOS,enhanced the expression of Bcl-2,depressed the expression of Bax.Conclusion:Salidroside has a protective effect on cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and this effect is related to attenuating lipid peroxidation,enhancing the expression of Bcl-2 and diminishing Bax expression.

A new method of acquiring electromyographic is presented.An EMG signal acquisition system is developed based on virtual instrument,which adopts traditional electromyographic instrument,high performance data acquisition card and Labview software.The real-time acquisition,digitalization and display of electromyographic signal are realized through the new system.Adapted to various physiological signals with the expanded functions,the system can be considered as the future physiological instrument's direction.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of CT and MRI in tubo ovarian masses. Methods CT scan was performed in 67 patients with tubo ovarian masses confirmed by pathology. 19 of them underwent MRI. Results (1) 20 primary malignant ovarian tumors showed cystic, solid or cystic solid masses; papillary projections on cystic wall; pelvic organs and pelvic wall invasion. Chocolate cysts with malignant degene ration exhibited small nodules on thickened cystic wall on CT and MRI.T 1WI was better for revealing the lesions. (2) Of 11 cases of metastasis to tubo ovary, 4 showed peritoneal linear enhancement. (3) There were 9 cystadenomas and 2 adenofibromas , one of the cystadenomas contained fat, two adenofibromas were similar to uterus in density on CT while showing lower signal intensity on MRI (both T 1WI and T 2WI). (4) Three cases of thecoma exhibited cystic or solid masses, solid thecomas revealed granular enhancement.(5) Teratomas were most spicific, one of them was associated with thecoma.(6) Tubo ovarian abscesses and tuberculosis depicted cystic or cystic solid masses.(7) Two cases of tubal pregnancy showed inhomogeneous soft tissue masses, the lower density areas in the centers were clot and organized tissues confirmed by pathology. Conclusion (1) CT and MRI had higher sensitivity but lower specificity for tubo ovarian masses, the diagnosis should be combined with clinical history and patients′ age. (2) Tumors of two different types may coexist and sometimes fat may be present in tumors other than teratoma.

AIM: To observe the anticonvulsant action of L-histidine in mice. METHODS: The anticonvulsant effect of L-histidine, and the antagonism of dl-chlorpheniramine to L-histidine were observed in convulsion mice induced by pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) and electric stimulation. RESULTS: L-histidine exerted remarkable anticonvulsant action with dose-response relationship in convulsion mice induced by pentylenetetrazole and electric stimulation, and the action was partly antagonized by dl-chlorpheniramine. CONCLUSION: L-histidine has anticonvulsant effect, and the action was partly antagonized by dl-chlorpheniramine, suggesting that L-histidine can pass the BBS and enter the central nervous system.

A mild rapid method for the determination of Pb in grain was established by diluted acid extraction and direct sampling detection with graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometer(GF-AAS). Some factors, such as the grain size, nitric acid concentration, extraction time, solid, liquid proportion, and the instrument conditions were optimized. The results indicated that, at room temperature, the extraction rate of Pb in grain by diluted nitric acid was between 92. 14% and 94. 75%, and the average recoveries of Pb in grain extract reached 91. 65%-94. 58%, the precision of method was less than 5%, and the method detection limits and quantification limits were 0. 64 μg/L and 2. 14 μg/L, respectively, meanwhile, the extraction time was shorten to no more than 30 min. Compared with the results pretreated by microwave digestion and determined by GF-AAS, the detection values obtained by diluted acid extraction had no significance difference (p<0. 1).
