1.Biocompatibility of artificial lung membrane materials
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(51):10137-10140
Artificial lung, also called oxygenator, has the properties of oxygenation, heterotherm, blood store, filtration, and blood retrieval, oxygenates venous blood with low oxygen to arterial blood with high oxygen, similar to human physiological condition, and functions as an ideal artificial organ. Membrane artificial lung has been widely used in extracorporeal circulation of cardiovascular surgery, as well as rescue of respiratory failure, i.e. extracorporeal life support or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. And the intravascular oxygenator has been primarily used in clinic. In particular, membrane oxygenator is essential for patients with severe disease, poor heart function, and long-duration operation. Currently, based on membrane material modification and optimization, as well as experimental and clinical evaluations of various properties, studies of artificial lung focus on improvement of gas exchange and biocompatibility, so as to provide reliable means of rescuing patients.
2.Is allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation still the first-line therapy after the first remission in adult patients with Philadelphia chromosome-negative acute lymphoblastic leukemia?
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2016;25(9):513-517
Whether allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is the optimal treatment for adult patients with Philadelphia chromosome-negative acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph - ALL) after the first complete remission (CR1) or not is still a controversial issue. Many studies have recently reported that adolescents and young adults with Ph- ALL may benefit from pediatric chemotherapy. Conventional baseline risk factors cannot satisfactorily predict prognosis, conversely, the early minimal residual disease (MRD) is the best stratification tool to offer different treatments for patients with different MRD status. Novel therapies, such as CAR-T cells and blinatumomab, have shown promising results in relapsed/refractory patients. Through comprehensive application of pediatric chemotherapy protocols, MRD driven strategy and novel therapies, it is hopeful to change the paradigm of how to treat adults with Ph - ALL in the future, and to bring improved outcomes and decreased adverse events.

5.Application of adaptive enhancement means in head and neck CR images
Chinese Journal of Medical Imaging Technology 2009;25(12):2294-2296
Digital CR of head and neck overcomes the disadvantage of regular X-ray radiography, which can not reveal bone and soft tissue position deficiency in one exposing, and reduces the X-ray radiation dose. Meanwhile, various factors decline the imaging quality, and images must be enhanced in order to meet demands of doctors clinical diagnosis. The general enhancement algorithms don't consider bodys structure difference and density characteristics. A new adaptive CR enhancement algorithms was proposed in this article, and head and neck images were processed with this method and compared with linear unsharp masking method. The results proved that the details of CR image enhanced were abundant and enhanced CR had good visual effect. SNR was high, as well as detail variance/background variance (DV/BV) indicating that this algorithms is suitable for head and neck CR medical image.

Results:20 patients received an average of 18 months of treatment, after treatment dental coverage and molar relations of these patients were in the normal range. Analysis of related projects cephalometric showed that patients with lateral outlook improved significantly,SNA,SNB and U1~L1 angle changes in hard tissue with significant difference in cephalometric measurements(P
7.Protective effects of allopregnanolone against different seizure models in mice
Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2000;5(2):97-100
Aim To examine the protective effects of allopregnanolone against seizure on different animal models. Methods The protective effects of allopregnanolone against maximal electrical seizure (MES) and picrotoxin-induced seizure were studied in C57 mice 15 minutes after vehicle or drug intraperitoneal administration. Results In the MES test, we found that pretreatment with the phenobarbital or allopregnanolone produced a dose-dependent protective effect against seizure. The potency (ED50 value) of phenobarbital in the MES test was 2.40 mg·kg-1, with 95% confidence interval range from 1.22 to 4.72 mg·kg-1. The potency (ED50 value) of allopregnanolone in the MES test was 0.086 mg·kg-1, with 95%confidence interval range from 0.037 to 0.201 mg·kg-1, which was significantly higher than that of phenobarbital (P<0.01). The combination study of half ED50 values of phenobarbital and allopregnanolone resulted in a 80% of protective effect in MES test, which was higher than 50% produced by either phenobarbital or allopregnanolone at their ED50 values respectively. This result indicated that there was a synergism between phenobarbital and allopregnanolone in their anticonvulsant activities. In the picrotoxin test, we found that pretreatment with the allopregnanolone also produced a dose-dependent protective effect against picrotoxin-induced seizure. The potency of allopregnanolone in the picrotoxin seizure test was 0.123 mg·kg-1, with 95% confidence interval range from 0.058 to 0.263 mg·kg-1.Conclusion Allopregnanolone(ip) could protect different seizures in a dose-dependent manner, had a higher potency than phenobarbital, and had synergism with phenobarbital in the MES test.
8.Bacterial analysis of combined periodontal-endodontic lesions using polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE)
Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2012;(10):866-870
Objective To compare the bacterial community profiles present in periodontium and root canals of the same tooth diagnosed as combined periodontal-endodontic lesions by using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE).Methods Samples were collected from 13 extracted teeth with advanced periodontitis, endodontic samples from root tip 1/3 root canal, and periodontal samples from the corresponding neighboring periodontium.Genomic DNA was collected for the following universal bacterial primersPCR.The PCR products were then loaded on the DGGE gels to gain separate bands. The typical DGGE bands were excised,PCR-cloned and sequenced. Results The number of bands, which was indicative of the number of bacterial species, was compared intra-group (periodontal and pulpal specimen from the same tooth). The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01),but there was no positive correlation between them. The similarity (Dice Coefficient) between them was 13.1%-62.5%.Taxa identified through BLAST (≥98% identity) were Campylobacter,Fusobacterium,Neisseria,et al in the periodontium, and Mogibacterium,Corynebacterium,Actinomyces,et al in the root canals. Conclusion Common bacteria existed between them, but not all of the periodontal bacteria would appear in neighboring root canal; and the bacteria in the root canal are not completely from neighboring periodontal tissue. The original bacteria in the root canals may resuscitate and enrich the bacterial community. In combined periodontal-endodontic lesions (periodontal source),it is probable that new species existed to be confirmed either in the periodontium or in the root canal.
9.Pathogenetic characteristics and therapeutic approaches of aplastic anemia.
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2003;1(1):74-6
According to TCM theory of the wholistic concept and the principles of syndrome differentiation and treatment, the characteristics of the pathogenesis of aplastic anemia (AA) were summarized and corresponding treatment was put forward on the basis of clinical observation and the study of literature. In the pathogenesis of AA, the deficiency of spleen and kidney is the primary aspect, fire attacking blood vessels is the secondary aspect and there is change because of blood stasis. In treatment, the method of invigorating spleen and tonifying kidney is adopted in order to get at the root, and releasing fire to stop bleeding is adopted in order to bring about a temporary solution, and activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis is adopted in order to produce blood. The outline should be caught hold of that consumption is primary aspect and fire is secondary aspect and there is change because of blood stasis in order to obtain satisfactory curative effect.
