Objective To investigate the value of MRI in diagnosis and assessing anatomical distributions of posterior deep infil-trating endometriosis (PDIE)using laparoscopic surgical findings as reference standard.Methods MR images of 36 patients with laparoscopic operation and pathology confirmed PDIE were retrospective analysis,and results were compared with laparoscopic sur-gical findings.Results Among the 36 patients,PDIE was identified in 34 patients at MR imaging with a sensitivity of 94.4%.Re-garding different anatomy location,the accuracy of MR imaging in diagnosis of endometriosis in uterosacral ligament (USL),re-ctosigmoid bowel,rectovaginal septum and vagina was 83.3%,91.7%,80.6% and 91.7% ,respectively.MR imaging findings were well correlated with laparoscopic surgical findings.Conclusion MR imaging can diagnose and assess the anatomical distribu-tions of PDIE with high accuracy preoperatively,which provides useful information for therapy plan making.

Objective: To explore safety and effects of exercise rehabilitation in aged patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). Methods: A total of 83 aged CHF patients were randomly divided into exercise rehabilitation group (n=42, received exercise training based on usual care) and usual care group (n=41, received usual care). Period of treatment was eight weeks and patients were followed up for 12 months. New York heart association (NYHA) classification was used to represent cardiac function. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDd) were determined by ultrasound cardiography, 6 min walking distance (6MWD) and oxygen metabolic equivalent (METs) also were determined , plasma level of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) was examined. Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire (MLHFQ) was used to represent quality of life. Rehospitalization rate and mortality rate within 12 months were recorded in all patients. Results: On 8 th weeks after treatment, the LVEF, LVEDd and NYHA class of two groups all significantly improved（P＜0.05 all）,compared with usual care group, there were significant improvement in LVEF [（54.7±6.2）% vs. 65.4±8.7）%], LVEDd [（49.6±8.3）mm vs.（40.2±9.3）mm] and NYHA class [（2.7±0.8）classes vs.（1.9±0.9）classes], P<0.05 all; 6MWD [(122.7±9.2) m vs. (175.6±8.7) m] and METs [(5.8±1.8) vs. (8.4±2.4)] also significantly increased (P<0.01), and plasma level of BNP [(43.4±9.8) pg/ml vs. (31.7±8.9) pg/ml, P<0.05] significantly decreased in exercise rehabilitation group. No severe adverse events occurred in exercise rehabilitation group. After 12 months, compared with usual care group, there were significant increase in MLHFQ score [(45.6±8.2) scores vs. (68.9±7.9) scores], significant decrease in rehospitalization rate caused by heart failure (24.4% vs. 9.5%) , P<0.05 all in exercise rehabilitation group. Conclusion: Exercise rehabilitation is safe and effective in aged patients with chronic heart failure, which can significantly improve cardiac function, enhance exercise capacity and increase quality of life.

Objective To study the angiogenesis in serous ovarian neoplasms. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to examine microvessei density (MVD) and the expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in 76 cases of serous ovarian neoplasm. The relationship between MVD and VEGF were investigated. Results MVD in the tissues of cystadenoma, bordline cystadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma were 7.8±2.4, 17.5±3.3 and 27.6±7.5; VEGF expressions were (16.1±3.9)%, (36.7±14.2)%, (52.3±22.8)%; the differences were significant respectively. Of cystadenocarcinoma grade 1, grade 2 and grade 3, MVD were 18.3+3.4, 24.2±3.1, and 32.3±6.4, VEGF expressions were (30.9±16.2)%, (48.0±18.4) % and (62.1±21.3) %, the differences were significant respectively. Of FIGO stage Ⅲ～Ⅳ and stage Ⅰ～Ⅱ, MVD were 28.9±4.7 and 22.0±4.7, VEGF expressions were (55.1±22.9) % and (40.18±18.0) %, the differences were significant respectively. There was significant positive correlation between VEGF expression and MVD. Conclusion Angiogenesis is very important in the development of serous ovarian neoplasms.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT), because of its good targeting, minimal invasion, and safety, is becoming a very active area in cancer prevention and treatment, in which the photosensitizers have proved to be the core element for PDT. We developed a new HPLC method for analyzing porphyrin photosensitizers using Shiseido Capcell PAK C18 (150 mm x 4.6 mm, 5 µm) as the column at 30 °C, methanol-1% aqueous solution of acetic acid as the mobile phase in a flow rate of 1.0 mL · min(-1) in a gradient elution mode, and the detection wavelength at 380 nm. This method, showing good specificity, precision, accuracy and robusty via methodology validations, can be applied to the purity test and assay of porphyrin photosensitizers, and has played a key guide role in the R&D of the new porphyrin photosensitizer--sinoporphyrin sodium.

Objective To investigate the effect of Zingiber corallinum oil ( ZCO ) on apoptosis and proliferation of cervical carcinoma cell line HeLa. Methods HeLa cells were treated with different concentrations of ZCO(5-80 mg·L-1)in vitro. Cytotoxicity rate was determined by CCK-8 assay. The morphological changes was observed using inverted microscope after AO/EB staining. Caspase-3 activities were measured with a colorimetric method. Protein level of hsp-70 were detected by Western blotting. Cell cycle and apoptosis were analyzed by flow cytometer ( FCM ) . Results ZCO exhibited effect of proliferation inhibition and apoptosis-inducing on the growth of HeLa cells in a dose-dependent manner. Caspase-3 activities increased in a dose-dependent manner while the expression of hsp-70 decreased. Cell cycle was arrested in G2/M phase. Conclusion ZCO exhibites a marked effect of proliferation inhibition and apoptosis-inducing on HeLa cells. The mechanism of ZCO might be activating the key enzyme in apoptotic pathway, so that the expression of hsp-70 is down-regulated, and cell cycle is arrested in G2/M phase.

Objective To evaluate the value of localization diagnosis of 1H-magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in the patients with structural MRI-negative temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) based on the results of localization diagnosis of electroencephalogram (EEG) in patients with TLE without lesion.Methods Thirty-three patients with MRI-negative TLE and 33 age-and sex-matched healthy control subjects underwent MRS and took the side localized by scalp/video EEG as standard,to evaluate the value of N-acetyl-L-aspartic acid (NAA)/creatine (Cr),NAA/(Cr + choline (Cho)) in the localization diagnosis of TLE.Results There was no significant difference in NAA/Cr,Cho/Cr and NAA/(Cr + Cho) in bilateral hippocampi of 33 healthy controls,and the mean values of them in bilateral hippocampi were regarded as normal values.The NAA/Cr and NAA/(Cr + Cho) ratios were significantly decreased in both sides of the hippocampi ipsilateral and contralateral to the seizure side.Taking NAA/Cr and NAA/(Cr +Cho) as an index to localize respectively and comparing with the localization diagnosis of EEG,spectral anomalies were found in 28 cases and 29 cases respectively,and the abnormal rate reached 85％ and 88％.The localization diagnosis of 17 and 18 cases was consistent with the EEG,the rate being 52％ and 55％ respectively,but 12％ (4/33) and 18％ (6/33) were opposite.There were 36％ (12/33) and 27％ (9/33) cases who could not be localized.The localization diagnosis results by NAA/Cr and NAA/(Cr +Cho) were not significantly different.Conclusions The existence of mirror-image foci may be the main reason of the failure of localization diagnosis.1H-MRS has higher value for localization of TLE foci,and combining 1H-MRS with other techniques can further improve the accuracy and reliability of localizing the epileptic foci in patients with TLE.Compared with EEG in the diagnosis of TLE,there are no significant differences in the localization diagnosis of TLE by NAA/Cr and NAA/(Cr + Cho),which can all be the standard indices of localization diagnosis.

Objective:To explore the application value of patient data-based real-time quality control (PBRTQC) in enhancing the effectiveness of internal quality control (IQC) management.Methods:From the PBRTQC real-time quality control intelligent monitoring platform integrated with the laboratory information system (LIS), a total of 35,631 test results of red blood cell (RBC) count, white blood cell (WBC) count, and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) were collected from patients of the Department of General Xi'an Area Medical Laboratory Center from August 1, 2023, to April 1, 2024. The platform was used in patient data distribution characteristics test, EWMA real-time quality control chart procedure establishment, performance validation, effect evaluation, best procedure selection, and real-time operation. The performance evaluation indexes of the best PBRTQC procedure establishment, the cut-off limit range, weighting coefficient, cumulative mean, standard deviation (SD), coefficient of variation ( CV) of the EWMA real-time quality control chart, and the cumulative mean, SD, and CV of its internal quality control data in the same period were counted, and at the same time compared with the quality target (1/3TEa). Coefficient of variation analyses were performed to compare the quality control status of PBRTQC and conventional internal quality control in the presence of warning or alarm prompts based on quality control process records, and alarm messages. Results:The evaluation indexes of the optimal procedures for RBC count, WBC count, and DHEA-S were the probability of error detection (Ped) between 93%-97% and greater than 90%, the false positive rate (FPR) between 0.0%-0.5%, the false negative rate (FNR) between 3.0%-7.0%, and the average number of the patient sample until error detection (ANPed) between 5-11, which is in line with the optimal quality control efficacy quality requirements for the PBRTQC procedure. The patient outcome cut-off concentrations for the optimal procedure EWMA quality control charts ranged from RBC count (3.92-5.16)×10 12/L, WBC count (4.28-7.50)×10 9/L, and DHEA-S (830-2 160) μg/L; (2 160-4 210) μg/L. The weighting coefficients were 0.05, 0.03, and 0.03, respectively. The real-world application of the EWMA real-time quality control charts showed stable and excellent analytical performance of the measurement system, such as out-of-control alarm: RBC count, 1 true alarm, Ped of 95.85%, and FPR of 0%. The cumulative CV of EWMA was less than the quality target; the cumulative CV of DHEA-S was 7.66% and 9.47%, respectively, and the cumulative CV of low level was greater than the quality target (8.33%), and the cumulative CV of high and low levels were 4.12% and 6.25%. Conclusion:The PBRTQC EWMA method can monitor the patient data - in real-time and continuous way. It can also dynamically identify and provide early indication of small changes in analytical performance during the analysis process, and can be used as a supplement to quality control products to improve the efficacy of laboratory quality management.
