Emotion recognition will be prosperious in multifarious applications, like distance education, healthcare, and human-computer interactions, etc. Emotions can be recognized from the behavior signals such as speech, facial expressions, gestures or the physiological signals such as electroencephalogram and electrocardiogram. Contrast to other methods, the physiological signals based emotion recognition can achieve more objective and effective results because it is almost impossible to be disguised. This paper introduces recent advancements in emotion research using physiological signals, specified to its emotion model, elicitation stimuli, feature extraction and classification methods. Finally the paper also discusses some research challenges and future developments.

Chinese Journal of Radiation Oncology 1992;0(01):-
Objective To evaluate the feasibility of CT staging for esophageal cancer. Methods A retrospective analysis of 304 patients treated, from Jan. 1996 to Dec. 1998 chiefly with radiotherapy(126 conventional radiotherapy,55-65 Gy/27-35 fx/5.5-7.0 w;178 late-course accelerated hyperfractionated radiotherapy ,55-60 Gy/33-36 fx/ 4.5 -5.5 w)complete with CT data before treatment was done. The long survival was compared with pre-therapy CT findings and CT staging. ResultsThe survival rate of stage T1+T2 was very significantly different from those lesion with stage T3,T4(? 2=12.90,P0.05).The survival rates of patients positive for lymph nodes or distant metastasis were lower. Conclusion CT staging is quite optimal for non-operable esophageal cancer in clinical staging,as it is conducive to predict the prognosis.

Objective To investigate the apoptosis induction of Bullatacin on A549 cell line of pulmonary adenocarcinoma. Methods The MTT assay was used to detect the growth inhibition rates of A549 cells cultured with Bullatacin in different concentrations (6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, 100μg/mL). 25μg/mL Bullatacin was used to culture A549 cells for 0, 12, 24, 48 h. The cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were measured by flow cytemetry. The protein expressions of ERK, JNK, and p38 were studied by Western blot. Results Dosage dependence was obviously showed after the different concentrations of Bullatacin were used to A549, and 25 μg/mL;Bullatacin blocked A549 cell in G0/G1 periods and induced its apoptosis. Compared with the blank group, protein expressions of P-ERK, P-JNK, and P-p38 were all increased by different degrees. Conclusion Bullatacin significantly inhibits the proliferation and induces the apoptosis of A549 cell. Its mechanism is related to activity of MAPK pathway thought the phosphorylation of the three protein kinases by Bullatacin.

Objective To evaluate the effect of hydrodistension on interstitial cystitis and the psychological changes after hydrodistension. Methods Thirty two patients with interstitial cystitis underwent hydrodistension from May 2011 to Jun 2012 in Department of Urology,Beijing Hospital.Interstitial cystitis symptom index(ICSI),Visual onalogue Scale (VAS) pain score, quality of life questionnaire(QOL) score,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) score,self-rating depression scale(SDS) score were recorded and analyzed before and at 1-3 month after hydrodistension surgery. The voiding diary and postoperative complications were cared. Results Symptoms were improved in twenty nine patients, the efficiency rate was 90.6% (29/32).There were significant differences in ICSI score,VAS pain score,QOL score,SAS score,SDS score between pre and 3 month post-surgery [(26.7± 2.3) vs.(15.2±1.9),(4.6±2.5) vs.(1.8±1.1),(4.3±2.2) vs.(2.2±1.6),(53.8±3.7) vs.(40.8±2.3),(54.8±2.3) vs.(42.4±1.5),t=8.33,7.94,6.54,7.20,8.52,respectively,all P <0.05].No complication was found after surgery. Both the clinical symptoms and the anxiety and depression symptoms in patients were relieved, and QOL was improved. Conclusions For the patients with interstitial cystitis, the undergoing of hydrodistension surgery can relieve the anxiety and depression symptoms and improve quality of life.

Thirty six patients aged 50-70 years with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) received doxazosin and desmopressin treatment for 4 weeks. After treatment the International Prostate Symptom Scores (IPSS) and Quality of Life (QoL) scores of patients were significantly improved (17.4 ± 2.5 vs.11.8 ± 1.1 and 3.9 ±0.6 vs.1.8 ± 1.3,respectively;both P < 0.01).The nocturia frequency was decreased from 4.6±1.5 to 2.1±1.6 (P<0.01);nocturnal urine output from (564±73) to (348±45) ml (P<0.05);the hours of undisturbed sleep increased from (88.6 ± 17.5) min to (146.2 ± 12.8) min (P <0.05).There were no significant differences in serum levels of sodium, potassium and chlorine, and osmoticpressure before and after treatment. The results indicate that doxazosin combined with desmopressin is safe and effective for treatment of nocturia in patients with BPH.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(03):-
Objective To identify nine species of Dendrobium Sw. by inter-simple sequence repeats-polymerase chain reaction (ISSR-PCR) method and to investigate the difference among the species of Dendrobium Sw. at DNA molecular level. Methods Ten primers constituted by simple sequence repeats (SSR) were tested for PCR and sepharose electrophoresis of the nine species. Results Seven of the ten primers amplified polymorphic bands. The number of polymorphic band positions of each primer ranged from 7 to 14, and the size of fragments ranged from 220 to 1 260 bp. The amplification patterns of two primers, namely UBC-807 and UBC-864, were higher in terms of polymorphic and amplified band ratio. Each of them was able to distinguish all the examined species. Conclusion ISSR-PCR provides a quick, reliable molecular marker technique for identification of different species of Dendrobium Sw.

In order to investigate the expression of Notch-1 in rats with acute pancreatitis (AP) and its relation with apoptosis of pancreatic cells, mild AP (MAP) and severe AP (SAP) models were established by retrograde injection of different concentrations of sodium taurocholae into pancreatic duct. The apoptosis index and the expression of Notch-1 protein and mRNA were detected by using TUNEL, Western blot and real-time PCR in MAP and SAP at different time intervals. The results showed that in MAP group the apoptosis index was significantly elevated during 4 to 24 h after induction of pancreatitis, but there was no significant difference among different time intervals. In SAP group, the apoptosis index reached the peak at 4th h after induction of pancreatitis, then gradually declined. There was significant difference in apoptosis index between MAP and SAP groups. Starting from 4th after induction of pancreatitis, the expression of Notch-1 in both MAP and SAP group was increased at different time intervals, but that in SAP group was significantly higher than in MAP group (P<0.05). The expression of Notch in MAP and SAP groups reached the peak at 12th and 8th h respectively after induction of pancreatitis. It was concluded that there was significant difference in apoptosis index and the Notch-1 expression in different types of AP. The overexpression of Notch-1 could aggravate AP by inhibiting the apoptosis of pancreatic cells.
