To investigate the effect of the case-centered teaching method in biochemistry teaching. 47 students were divided into two groups :the study group and the control group.The casecentered teaching method was used in the studying group.The control group was taught by traditional method.The final examination showed that the results of the studying group were better than the control group.

Venous thromboembolism, which is a common thrombotic disease, is prone to become a fatal pulmonary embolism due to the lack of existing treatments.Although the anticoagulant drugs are widely used, the disease relapses easily.In recent years, there are much progress in the formation of venous thrombosis and diagnosis, and antiplatelet agents may play a certain role in the prevention of venous thrombosis.These new developments provide a new train of thought that platelets play as a breakthrough to find more effective treatments.This article summarizes the progress in the diagnosis of venous thrombosis on platelets in recent years, which discusses whether antiplatelet strategies could be applied in venous thrombosis so as to provide reference for further research.

we have designed a program-controlled high-fi amplifier for EMG.Its gain can be controlled by computer.The program-contralled circuit is implemented with numerical control resistor.The amplifier can be used in automatically measuring EMG signals over 100?v.The circuit is characterized by easy de- sign,simple programing and convenient control.

The author reviewed some researches on teacher's work related stress in China and abroad. The present researches mainly focus on the sources of stress in teachers' work life. Some practices of work related stress in USA and Chinese special education field were discussed in the article. In the end, the author took a perspective on future research of teacher's work related stress in Chinese special education field.

Objective To investigate the percentage of CD4 + C125 +Tregs in peripheral blood of patients with sepsis and its effect on cell immunity so as to unravel the effect of immunomodulatory therapy on it. Method Fourty patients with sepsis in ICU were randomly (random number) divided into experimental group and control group . The patients of experimental group were treated with Ulinastatin and immunoregulation agent (Thymosin αl) as well. The blood specimens were collected just before treatment, 3 days and 8 days after treatment. The percentages of CD4 + CD25 + Tregs and lymphocyte subsets were detected by using FCM (flow cytometry), and TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-10 assayed by using ELISA, and APACHE Ⅱ scores were calculated. Results Before treatment, the percentage of CD4 + CD25 + Tregs increased, and the number of lymphocytes and the percentage of T lymphocytes decreased, especially the CD4 + T lymphocytes and CD4+/CD8+ decreased more markedly, and the levels of IL-6 and TNF-α increased. After treatment,the percentage of CD4+ CD25 + Tregs was decreased, the number of lymphocytes and CD4 +/CD8 + increased, and the levels of APACHE Ⅱ score, IL-6 and TNF-α decreased especially in the experimental group decreased more significantly (P ＜ 0. 05). Conclusions The percentage of CD4 + CD25+ Tregs in peripheral blood can reflect the immune status of patients with sepsis and become a novel indicator to estimate the progress of sepsis, and the immunity and prognosis of patients. Treating the patients with Thymosin αl and Ulinastatin can raise their immunity, decrease the levels of IL-6, TNF-α and APACHE Ⅱ score and improve their prognosis.

Primary liver cancer is a common malignant tumor in the digestive system.Most patients are in the advanced stage when a con-firmed diagnosis has been made,and prognosis is often unfavorable.Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)has unique advantages in the pre-vention and treatment of primary liver cancer.This article briefly introduces the etiology and pathogenesis of primary liver cancer,as well as syndrome differentiation and treatment of liver cancer with TCM,and summarizes the advances in multimodality therapies including TCM combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization,radical surgery for liver cancer,chemoradiotherapy,and molecular-targeted thera-py,in order to provide a reference for the clinical treatment and improvement in the prognosis of primary liver cancer.

Objective To study the expression of survivin, an apoptosis inhibitor gene,in bladder carcinoma,and to investigate its clinical and pathological implications. Methods We detected the expression of survivin in 60 cases (48 men and 12 women) of bladder carcinoma and 10 cases of non-tumor bladder tissues (controls) by immunohistochemistry (SP) method.The mean age of the 60 cases at diagnosis was 59 years.The pathological grading showed Grade Ⅰ in 16 cases,Grade Ⅱ in 24 and Grade Ⅲ in 20.The clinical staging showed T 1 in 13 cases,T 2 in 15,T 3 in 21 and T 4 in 11.Of the 60 cases,21 developed relapse. Results The overall positive rate of survivin in 60 cases of bladder carcinoma was 60.0% (n=36).No survivin was found in 10 cases of non-tumor bladder tissues.The positive rate of survivin in Grade Ⅰ cases of bladder carcinoma was 37.5%(6/16),in Grade Ⅱ and Ⅲ cases of bladder carcinoma was 66.7%(16/24) and 70.0%(14/20);the difference of positive rates between Grade Ⅰ and Grade Ⅱ,Grade Ⅲ cases was significant (P0.05).The positive rate of survivin in cases of relapse was 80.9% (17/21). Conclusions Survivin may play an essential role in bladder carcinogenesis and serve as a marker for prognosis of bladder cancer.

Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment of testicular cancer in cryptorchids. Methods The data of 10 patients with cryptorchid tumor treated at our hospital between 1986 and 2003 were retrospectively analyzed.Their average age was 40 years (range,32~55 years).Of these patients,1 had the testis in the inguinal area;3,in the scrotum (with a history of inguinal cryptorchidism) and 6,in the abdomen.Cryptorchidism occurred on the left in 2 cases,on the right in 5 and bilaterally in 3.Three patients presented with stage Ⅰ A disease,5 with stage Ⅰ B,and 2 with stage Ⅱ D. Results All the 10 patients received surgical treatment including radical tumor resection,radical tumor resection with retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND),and palliative operation.Pathology showed that 9 cases had seminoma and 1 had seminoma accompanied by embryonic carcinoma.Radiotherapy was performed in 8 cases,and radiotherapy plus chemotherapy,in 2 (including 1 with embryonic carcinoma).Postoperatively,6 patients were followed up for 6 months to 14 years with a mean of 5.2 years;these patients showed no evidence of tumor recurrence and metastasis. Conclusions Cryptorchid testes have a greater risk of malignant change than do normally descended testes,and early intervention is advocated to prevent malignant canceration.Even treated with orchidopexy or orchiectomy,the patient should be followed up lifelong.Most of cryptorchid tumors are seminomas, and the ideal treatment strategies are tumor resection and radiotherapy.

Objective In order to study the relationship between the platelet activation sign:P-selectin(GMP 140 ) expression and human IgA nephropathy.Methods Expression of platelet membrane glucoprotein Ⅱb/Ⅲa(GP Ⅱb ,GP Ⅲa ) in blood for IgA nephropathy patients(n=46) was investigated by flow cytometry methods.Results In IgA nephropathy the up-regulated GMP 140 expression in blood was significantly higher than that in normal humans.Conclusions GMP 140 might play an important role in pathogenesis of IgA nephropahty,and the level of GMP 140 in blood might predict renal outcome in IgA nephropathy.
