1.Research on corticosteriod-induced ocular hypertension after vitreoretinal surgery
Journal of Third Military Medical University 2002;0(12):-
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristic and risk factors of corticosteriod-induced ocular hypertension after vitreoretinal surgery. Methods Retrospective analysis was made based on the clinical data of 866 patients, including 126 corticosteriod-induced ocular hypertension(89 male,37 female, age range 9-70 years old) after vitreoretinal surgery during May 2002 to May 2005.Results All cases used glucocorticoid locally or systemically.Multi-variance logistic analysis showed that male, complicated vitreoretinal surgery, longer hospital stay, therapeutic duration with glucocorticoid, cataracta were the independent predictive factors, while myopia, hypertension, diabetes were not closely related to corticosteroid-induced ocular hypertension. Conclusion The incidence of corticosteriod-induced ocular hypertension after vitreoretinal surgery was 14.55%.The important factor leading to ocular hypertension is long-term application of glucocorticoid.
2.Progress in the study of thin basement membrane nephropathy
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(03):-
Thin basement membrane nephropathy(TBMN) is one of the most common disorders of the kidney, affecting at least 1% of the population. It seems to be a disease of the adult glomerular basement membrane(GBM) type Ⅳ collagen trimer ?3∶?4∶?5.Genetic evidence indicates that autosomal TBMN is caused by heterozygous mutations in either COL4A3 or COL4A4, whereas homozygous or combined heterozygous mutations in the same genes lead to autosomal recessive Alport syndrome. The author summarized the epidemiology, clinical features, renal biopsy, genetics, pathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy of TBMN.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1957;0(04):-
Objective To observe the structure feature of cultured mesothelial cells, determine its anticoagulant and fibrinolytic activity, and provide a basis for selection of artificial vascular prostheses coating cells. Methods The greater omenta, aortae and subcutanenous connective tissue of SD rats have been taken for mesothelial cell, endothelial cell and fibroblast culture. The cultured mesothelial cells have been observed by light microscopy and electron microscopy. The 6 keto PGF 1? (the metabolite of prostacyclin)concentrations in medium were measured by rodioimmunoassay, Tissue plasminogen activator(t PA) activity was detected by chromogenic assay. Results The cultured mesothelial cells have many structure feature similar to endothelial cells. The average concentration of the 6 keto PGF 1? in mesothelial cell culture was higher than that in endothelial cells and fibroblasts culture, the t PA activity in mesothelial cells culture was also higher than that in fibroblasts, but there wasn't a significant difference between mesothelial cells and endothelial cells. Conclusion Mesothelial cells have similar structure and functions comparing with endothelial cells. It may be an ideal coating lining for artificial vascular impants. [
5.Effect of Target Controlled Infusion Propofol Vein Anesthesia on Serum Amylase and Triglyceride in Children with Cleft Lip and Palate
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(11):-
Objective To compare the influence between target controlled infusion propofol vein anesthesia and midazolam vein anesthesia toward serum amylase and triglyceride in children with cleft lip and palate. To make a definitude that the feasibility of target controlled infusion propofol used in children′s anesthesia. Methods Sixty children with cleft lip and palate aged from 4 months to 3 years, weighting 6.5-15.9 kg,American Society of Anesthesiologists(ASA)Ⅰ-Ⅱ,were randomly allocated to group P and group M(n=30,each).Group P received target controlled infusion propofol.Anesthesia was induced with target controlled infusion propofol at the target effect-site concentration 3.0 mg/L,remifentanyl 2.0 ?g/kg and vecuronium 0.1 mg/kg.Anesthesia was maintained with a continuous remifentanyl infusion at 0.2 ?g/(kg?min) and vecuronium 0.01 mg/(kg?min) and target controlled infusion propofol at the effect-site concentration 3.0 mg/L.Group M received intermittent boluses of midazolam 0.1 mg/kg.Anesthesia was induced with midazolam 0.2 mg/kg,remifentanyl 2.0 ?g/kg and vecuronium 0.1 mg/kg.Anesthesia was maintained with a continuous remifentanyl infusion at 0.2 ?g/(kg?min) and vecuronium 0.01 mg/(kg?min) and intermittent boluses of midazolam 0.1 mg/kg every hour. The venous blood samples were taken before anesthesia induction(T1),4 hours(T2) and 24 hours(T3) after surgery to measure the serum concentration of serum amylase and triglycride. Results The duration of anesthesia induction, extubation and emergence were shorter in group P compared with group M(Pa0.05).Conclusions The serum concentration of triglyceride may increase because of the stress of anesthasion and operation, and can be higher during target controlled infusion propofol, but does not exceed the normal value. The serum amylase concentration does not increase during target controlled infusion propofol in children.

8.Autophagy and apoptosis: rivals or mates?
Chinese Journal of Cancer 2013;32(3):103-105
Autophagy, a cellular process of "self-eating" by which intracellular components are degraded within the lysosome, is an evolutionarily conserved response to various stresses. Autophagy is associated with numerous patho-physiological conditions, and dysregulation of autophagy contributes to the pathogenesis of a variety of human diseases including cancer. Depending on context, activation of autophagy may promote either cell survival or death, two major events that determine pathological process of many illnesses. Importantly, the activity of autophagy is often associated with apoptosis, another critical cellular process determining cellular fate. A better understanding of biology of autophagy and its implication in human health and disorder, as well as the relationship between autophagy and apoptosis, has the potential of facilitating the development of autophagy-based therapeutic interventions for human diseases such as cancer.

9. Toxicity of Danshen injection in Beagle's dogs by repeated iv injection
Chinese Herbal Medicines 2014;5(3):189-198
Objective: To re-evaluate the potential toxicity of Danshen Injection (DI) in Beagle's dogs by repeated iv injection. Methods: DI was iv given to the dogs at the doses of 0, 1.6, 5.4, and 16.0 g/(kg·d) (4 per sex per group) for 13 weeks. During the test period, the clinical signs, mortality, body weights, food consumption, rectal temperature, ophthalmoscopy, electrocardiography, urinalysis, hematology, serum biochemistry, organ weights, gross findings, and histopathology were examined. Results: Dogs iv given with DI at the doses of 0, 1.6, 5.4, and 16.0 g/(kg·d) for 13 weeks had no drug-related changes in mortality, body weight, food consumption, temperature, electrocardiography, ophthalmoscopy, urinalysis parameters, and organ weights. The hematological parameter data showed a significant decrease in red blood cells and hemoglobin concentration in the high-dose group and a significant increase in activated partial thromboplastin time suggesting an effect on haemopoiesis. For biochemical parameters, a significant decrease in glucose and a significant increase in total bilirubin were observed in the high-dose group, and the latter was considered to be toxicologically insignificant as lack of histopathological correlate. However, the histopathological examinations of the injection site showed that DI could cause dose-dependent focal inflammation. Conclusion: That the iv injection with DI into dogs at 16 g/(kg·d) for 13 weeks could cause the decreases in red blood cell parameters and glucose, as well as the lesions of the injection site. The no observed adverse effect level is 5.4 g/(kg·d), which suggests that safe clinical dosing be possible. © 2013 Tianjin Press of Chinese Herbal Medicines.
