Bronchoalveolar lavage ( BAL) has been widely used in pediatric respiratory system disea-ses,and it has been comfirmed the value of the diagnosis and treatment in lung diseases. Collected bronchoalveo-lar lavage fluid ( BALF) is often used in microbiological pathogen identification, cellular and non-cellular com-ponents analyses. And it can be also used as guideline of clinical medication, diagnosis, treatment and pathogene-sis research of the respiratory disorders. This article summarizes the advance of BAL in pediatrics ,such as BAL operating skills, specimen transport and handling, and clinical application in lower respiratory tract infection and interstitial lung disease.
4.Comparation between traditional thyroid surgery and endoscopic thyroidectomy
Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2000;0(11):-
Objective To explore the safety, minimal invasion and cosmetic effect of endoscopic thyroidectomy. Methods From May 2007 to April 2008,among 413 cases of thyroid operations,238 cases were operated by endoscopic techniguc and 175 cases were operated by traditional methods.the operation time, intra operative blood loss, incision cosmetic score, postoperative hospitalization time, cost of hospitalization, and surgical complications between the two mehods were compared. Results Both groups of patients were operated successfully without postoperative bleeding, hoarseness,or hypocalcemia.Compared with traditional thyroid surgery, endoscopic thyroidectomy had less blood loss, shorter operation time, and higher-satisfaction cosmetic effect without significant scars or skin color changes. Conclusions Compared with traditional thyroid surgery, endoscopic thyroidectomy has the desired advantages of excelent cosmetic result, safety, and quick recovery. It is an ideal operation method for treatment of benign thyroid diseases.
5.The levels of serum lactate, lactate clearance rate and transaminase in septic rats and their relationship with liver damage
Journal of Chinese Physician 2013;15(10):1353-1357
Objective To explore the serum lactic acid, transaminase and their relationship with liver pathological damage in sepsis rats, whether a correlation exists between serum lactate clearance rate and transaminase in sepsis rats, and whether they can be used as indicators for the prediction and evaluation of septic rats liver injury. Methods A total of 150 clean Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats was divided into normal group (n =50),sham operated group (n =50),and the cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) (n =50).Ten rats were killed after successful surgery at the 6th,12th,24th,48th,and 72nd hour in CLP group, respectively. At each time point,10 normal rats and 10 sham-operated rats were taken as a control in the corresponding time point. The liver tissue was obtained for pathological analysis. The levels of lactate and liver transaminase were detected and the lactate clearance rate was calculated. The levels of lactate and transaminase at each time point were statistically compared. The correlation analysis was performed among serum lactate, transaminase, and liver damage pathological changes. Results The rat hepatocytes in CLP group begin to appear at the 6th hour, and the damage was gradually enhanced at the 12th,24th,and 48th,and up to the worst damage at the 48th time point. The levels of lactate and alanine aminotransferase (ALT)in CLP group at the 12th and 24th hour were significantly elevated compared with the normal and sham operation groups (P <0.05); The level of aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in CLP group at the 6th,12th,24th,48th,and 72nd hour was significantly elevated compared with the normal and sham operation groups (P < 0.05).A positive correlation was found between the levels of ALT and lactate (r =0.766,P <0.05),and a negative correlation was found between lactate clearance rate and ALT (r =-0.712,P <0.05).Conclusions In septic rats, both lactate and lactate clearance rate were correlated with ALT,and they were correlated with liver pathological damage. The level of lactate, lactate clearance rate, and ALT could be used as the key indicators to predict liver damage in septic rats.
7.Research progress on dual PDE3/4 inhibitors for the treatment of respiratory diseases
Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2021;56(1):70-79
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma are complex inflammatory diseases with airway obstruction as the main characteristics, and have become common respiratory diseases that seriously affect human health. Compared with the clinical use of PDE3 or PDE4 inhibitors alone, dual PDE3/4 inhibitors have synergistic anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator effects, and have attracted widespread attention in recent years. This article reviews the representative research results of dual PDE3/4 inhibitors currently in the preclinical and clinical research stages, summarizing their latest progress and their potential for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma.
8.Protective effects of geranylgeranylacetone on rat retinal ischemia/reperfusion injury
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(3):235-238
Background Retinal ischemia/reperfusion injury is a common pathological process in ophthalmology. It can cause permanent visual impairment. The prevention and treatment of retinal ischemia/reperfusion injury is one of the focus topics at home and abroad up to now. Objective Present study was to evaluate the protective effects of geranylgeranylacetone(GGA)on retinal ischemia/reperfusion injury. Methods The retinal ischemia/reperfusion models were established in 40 SD rats by the infusion of normal saline solution into the anterior ehamber to elevate the intraoeular pressure for 1 hour and then remove the process.GGA of 2 ml (800 ms/kg)was intragastrieally administered in 20 model rats as GGA group, and the equal volume of normal saline solution was used at the same way in other 20 models as model group.Four normal matched SD rats were served as normal control group. The histological changes of retina in 6,24,48,72 hours after modeling was examined by hematoxylin-eosin staining under the light microscope.and the expression of heat shock protein 70(HSP70)and caspase-3 in retina at the time points mentioned above was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The edema of cornea and retina of rats appeared in 1 hour and peaked in 24 hours after modeling. In 72 hours after modeling, the edema was alleviated but the disorder of retina structure was found in model group. However, although the pathological change process was similar to that of model group, the damage of retina tissue was milder in the rats of GGA group under the light microscope.HSP70 and caspase-3 were absent in the retina of normal rats. But。The expression of HSP70 in retinal ganglion cells(RGCs)was found in 6 hours after modeling, reached peak in 24 hours and declined after that in model group. The numbers of positive cells for HSP70 in retina was significantly increased in various time points in GGA group, showing statistically significant differences between model group and GGA group(P<0.05).In model group,a few of caspase-3 positive cells were found 6 hours after reperfusion and increased gradually until reaching the peak 24 hours and then decreased gradually 48 hours later.Few caspase-3 positive cells were found 72 hour8 after reperfusion. The numbers of positive cells for caspase-3 decreased in GGA group compared with model group during the experimental duration with the considerable difference between these two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion GGA could protect RGCs against isehemia/reperfusion injury by upregulating the expression of HSP70 and downregulating the expression of caspase-3 in retina.
