Objective To observe the anti-influenza effect of a Chinese medicinal herb-Antiviral Agent No.1. Methods To study t he anti-viral effect of Antiviral Agent No.1 by means of the technique of cel l culture and using Ribavirin as a positive control. Results In MDC K cu lture, Antiviral Agent No.1 was found to be a potential inhibitor of influenza A 3 virus in a concentration-dependent manner, with a TC50 of 60.53 mg*m l-1. When drug was added 2 hours post virus infection, the EC50(TI) was 5.14 mg*ml-1(11.78); while drug was added 2 hours before infection, t he EC50(TI) was 5.20 mg*ml-1(11.65). Conclusions Antiv iral Agent No.1 had a significant anti-influenza effect on type A3 in MDCK.

AIM: To investigate the effects of metallothionein (MT) induced by zinc on doxorubicin (DOX)-treated mice and to explore the potential mechanisms. METHODS: Male C57BL/6J mice were divided randomly into 4 groups (n = 6) following control, DOX, Zn and Zn plus DOX. Mice were pretreated with eikg-1, ip) or equal volume of saline, and were killed on d 4 after the last injection. Serum and hearts were collected for examination. RESULTS: Zinc pretreatment elevated cardiac MT levels significantly while other antioxidants in heart including glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSHpx) , superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT) were not altered. Severe oxidative injury occurred in the mice treated with DOX as myocardial lipid peroxidation and morphological changes manifested by myocardial fibers swelling and vacuolization and nuclear condensation or dissolution, with increased activities of serum creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase and depletion of GSH, GSHpx, and SOD while CAT activity was increased in compensation. However, pre-induction of MT with zinc attenuated all of these toxic changes significantly. Furthermore, DOX induced elevation of hydrogen peroxide in heart tissues was greatly inhibited by zinc pretreatment. CONCLUSION: Preinduction of MT by zinc protects the heart from DOX-induced cardiotoxicity, and this effect is possibly correlated with the property of MT on scavenging free radicals in vivo.

Objective:In order to reduce the transactional burden of scientific researchers and ensure the researchers concentrate on their scientific research, the hospital implemented the whole-process management and optimization of the scientific research approval process based on the DingTalk platform to improve the efficiency of scientific research. Methods:We sorted out the list of routine work in the implementation of scientific research projects and analyzed the key points affecting the efficiency of scientific research management, specifically the processes of reimbursement of scientific research funds, budget adjustment, paper submission approval, and research drug application, then we developed corresponding modules on the DingTalk platform. Results:In 2021, the hospital approved 3 214 scientific research funding reimbursements, including 1 917 approvals below 5 000 yuan, with a median approval time of 19 (5~28) hours, 1 297 approvals above 5 000 yuan, with a median approval time of 26 (10~50) hours. In addition, 17 budget adjustments, 456 paper submissions, and 31 research drug applications were approved on the DingTalk platform, resulting in a smooth overall approval process, saving the time costs of medical staff and improving work efficiency. Conclusions:The scientific research approval management based on this platform realizes the concept of refined management, which can meet the needs of the normalization of epidemic prevention and control and effectively promote the high-quality development of hospital scientific research management.

Objective:To investigate the expression levels of serum calcitonin (CT) and osteoponin (OPN) in peripheral blood of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and their relationship with AF.Methods:A case control study was conducted, 160 AF patients treated in Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital from June 2020 to December 2021 were selected as case group, and 160 healthy people in the same period were selected as control group. The expression levels of serum CT and OPN in the two groups were analyzed retrospectively, and the correlation between them and AF was analyzed. The value of CT and OPN levels in predicting the occurrence of AF was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC). Kappa consistency test was used to analyze the efficacy of the combination of them in predicting the occurrence of AF.Results:The serum calcitonin level ((13.5±3.2) ng/L) in the case group was lower than that in the control group ((17.3±3.1) ng/L), and the osteopontin level ((53.8±8.2) μg/L) was higher than that of the control group ((44.1±6.8) μg/L), the difference between the two groups was statistically significant ( t=10.79, P<0.001; t=11.50, P<0.001). The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that serum calcitonin was the protective factor of atrial fibrillation ( OR=0.723, 95% CI: 0.661-0.790, P<0.001), and osteopontin was the risk factor ( OR=1.183, 95% CI: 1.131-1.237, P<0.001). ROC analysis showed that the area under curve (AUC) of CT, OPN and their combination in predicting AF were 0.794, 0.824, and 0.892, respectively. The predictive critical value for serum CT was <15.0 ng/L and >48.5 μg/L for OPN. The sensitivity, specificity of the combination in AF prediction were 67.50% and 93.75% respectively, and Kappa value was 0.613. Conclusion:The expression of serum CT and OPN was abnormal in patients with atrial fibrillation. The prediction of AF by combined examination of the two had a high degree of consistency with the actual results, which could provide reference for early diagnosis and treatment of AF. However, the rate of missed diagnosis was relatively high, which needs attention in clinical application.
