Objective: To investigate the effects of Liangxue Tongyu Formula (LXTYF), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, on brain edema in rats with intracerebral hemorrhage and to explore the mechanism. Methods: Intracerebral hemorrhage was induced by using the intrastriatal autologous blood injection. Rats were randomized into sham-operated (SO) group, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) group and LXTYF group. Rats in the LXTYF group were intragastrically administered with LXTYF every day while the other two groups were given normal saline. Brain water content was determined at 24, 48, 72, and 120 h after intracerebral hemorrhage. Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) level, and MMP-9 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) mRNA expressions in perihematoma area were detected by gelatin zymography and fluorescence quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction at the four time points, respectively. Results: Water content in the ICH group was highly elevated after intracerebral hemorrhage, and reached to the peak at 72 h. Compared with the ICH group, the LXTYF group had lower water contents at 48, 72 and 120 h after intracerebral hemorrhage (P<0.01). The difference in water content between the LXTYF and SO groups was significant only at 72 h (P<0.01). Although the pro-MMP-9 level and MMP-9 activity in the LXTYF and ICH groups were enhanced, they were still lower in the LXTYF group than in the ICH group (P<0.01 for 24, 48, 72 and 120 h, respectively). And there was no significant difference in them between the LXTYF group and the SO group at 120 h. Meanwhile, MMP-9 mRNA expressions were increased in the ICH and LXTYF groups, but the levels in the LXTYF group were significantly lower (P<0.01 for 48, 72 and 120 h, respectively) than those in the ICH group. Also, TIMP-1 mRNA expressions at 24, 48, 72 and 120 h after intracerebral hemorrhage were up-regulated in the LXTYF group, and there were significant differences in TIMP-1 expressions between the LXTYF group and ICH group after intracerebral hemorrhage (P<0.01). Conclusion: Liangxue Tongyu Formula ameliorates brain edema in rats after intracerebral hemorrhage by inhibiting MMP-9 expression and activity and up-regulating TIMP-1.

Objective To learn the current status of family doctor service at pilot communities in Guangzhou, and discover existing problems and influencing factors by investigating the residents who have contracted such service , those have not and the family doctors . Methods This study chose typical community health centers of six communities in Guangzhou in January 2016 .In random sampling , residents who visited doctors during the survey and all the family doctors were surveyed .EpiData was used to doubly inputdata,withSPSS20.0forstatisticalanalysis.Results 66.0%ofthoseresidentswhohavenot contracted the service are willing to contract a family doctor .According to the binary logistic regression analysis after eliminating the interference factors , there are two factors affecting their willingness:gender and whether needing a family doctor for themselves and their family for health management .According to the binary logistic regression analysis after eliminating the interference factors , the influencing factors of renewing contract are overall satisfaction and necessity for signing family doctors .Conclusions The smooth development of the family doctor service is faced with many bottlenecks , while improving willingness to contract and renew contract to family doctors are the cornerstone for sustainability of the family doctor system.

ABSTRACTOBJECTIVE To establish measuring scale for the pathogen unit of heat?stasis on hemorrhagic stroke and explore the objectivestandard and quantitative method for measuring heat?stasis pathogenesis.METHODS Measuring questionnaire was designed according to the production process of standard scaleand heat?stasis information representation was selected through three rounds of expert consultationso as to establish the entry pool of scale.Related metrical data of hemorrhagic stroke due to heat?stasis was collected on spots with the clinic epidemiology/DME principles for 4 timesand the credibilityvalidity and applicability of scale were assessed.RESULTS By applying the method of subjective evaluation and step screening based on importance evaluationthe original entry pool of scale concerning hemorrhagic stroke due to heat?stasis was estab-lishedwhich included 32 information representationsbelonging to the dimension of blood heatblood stasis and consciousness respectively. And the scale was further optimized after testing the clinical sampleswith 25 items of higher credibility and va-lidity were chosen.CONCLUSION We have preliminarily established a set of measuring tool for the pathogen unit of heat?sta-sis on hemorrhagic strokeand the scale shows that consciousness change is an important representation in distinguishing hem-orrhagic stroke due to heat?stasis from other diseases.

This paper summarizes the exploration process and academic significance of the academic thought of Zhou Zhongying,a master of traditional Chinese medicine, who took the creation of a new system of TCM pathogenesis theory as the core, and interprets its theoretical connotation. As a pioneer in the construction of higher education textbooks for traditional Chinese medicine,Professor Zhou Zhongying created the outline of TCM internal medicine viscera differentiation, persisted in carrying out innovative research on patho-genesis theory, achieved fruitful academic results, and enriched and developed the academic system of TCM theory. In the clinical di-agnosis and treatment of exogenous febrile diseases and acute and difficult internal injuries,he systematically created new pathogenesis theories such as stasis-heat theory and cancer toxicity theory.Based on this, the legislation of medication can improve the clinical effi-cacy,and it is realized that identifying the pathogenesis is the key link in syndrome differentiation and treatment. In his later years,Professor Zhou Zhongying, guided by the holistic view, proposed the"thirteen pathogenesis"and constructed a new system of TCM pathogenesis differentiation, highlighting the guiding value of complex pathogenesis and the causal chain of pathogenesis elements to complex clinical diseases and syndromes, forming a theory with the idea of"examining syndromes and seeking pathogenesis, activating syndrome differentiation"as its soul. This theory breaks through the rigid thinking of syndrome differentiation and treatment based on a single pathogenesis or fixed syndrome type, reconstructs the theoretical framework of TCM with the idea of holistic view, and is a major academic innovation in modern TCM.
