1.Concept Analysis of Healing: Focusing on Patient Health related Literatures.
Asian Oncology Nursing 2015;15(1):51-58
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify attributes of the concept of healing. METHODS: Using Walker & Avant's concept analysis framework, medical & nursing text books and, research articles about healing published between 2000 and 2014 were reviewed. RESULTS: There were four aspects of the concept of healing: natural process through spiritual and mental purification; resilience of emotions and feeling in human nature; holistic cure as well as physical and mental treatment of disease; and harmonious balance and overall well-being of mind and body. Antecedents of healing that helped to purify the mind were illness recovery and injury perception. Empirical referents of healing were purifying the mind, quality of life and health-related spirituality. The consequences of healing were effective on the physical, psychosocial, spiritual and overall well-being of the patients. CONCLUSION: This concept analysis of healing help us to understand more clearly overall health and the health of patients in the clinical field. The concept of healing could be useful to promote health and well-being.

2.Soft Palate Reconstruction with a Superior-Constrictor Advancement-Rotation Flap(SCARF).

Korean Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery 2001;44(10):1097-1102
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Reconstruction of the soft palate after tumor resection is a difficult surgical procedure because of the requirements of the dynamic functional velopharynx. The ideal technique should be simple, reliable, sensate, dynamic and fast, and should be performed transorally or transcervically. Many methods such as obturators, loco-regional flaps, and free flaps have been devised to reconstruct the soft palate but none meets all this criteria. Superior-constrictor advancement-rotation flap (SCARF) is a dynamic local myomucosal flap to achieve circumferential closure of the velopharynx and reestablish its valvular sphincteric function and this satisfies all the criteria mentioned above. We evaluated the validity of SCARF for reconstruction of the soft palate after tumor resection. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From 1998 to 1999, three patients underwent a SCARF reconstruction of the velopharynx after 30% to 70% of the soft palate had been resected. All patients were evaluated after wound healing with regard to subjective satisfaction and objective parameters such as speech-language evaluation and videofluoroscopic study. RESULTS: All patients reestablished velopharyngeal competence without significant phonatory or deglutitive disability. There was no donor site complication. CONCLUSION: We could functionally reconstruct the defect of soft palate (maximum 70%) after tumor resection with SCARF. The SCARF reconstruction of the soft palate was simple, fast, reliable and performed transorally without any significant donor site morbidity.

3.National expert consensus on psychological rehabilitation of burn children (2020 version).
Chinese Journal of Burns 2020;36(11):987-992
The incidence of psychological stress and disorder in children after burns is high, and the mental health status highly affects the lifesaving, wound repair, and functional and psychological rehabilitation of the children. At present, the psychological disorder of burn children has not attracted enough attention and the relevant rehabilitation treatment measures also need to be standardized urgently. The Burn and Trauma Branch of Chinese Geriatrics Society organized the related national experts to provide recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders in burn children, and the consensus is formulated. This article introduced the manifestations, common assessment scales, and key points of psychological rehabilitation therapies at different stages for the psychological stress and disorder of burn children. Effective interventions and treatments include psychological interventions, behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, music therapy, and medication. Peer support and summer camps for burn children are also beneficial for their psychological rehabilitation and re-entering to society. In the psychological intervention and treatment for the children, the mental development level of children in different ages must be taken into consideration, and the close participation and cooperation of the parents are needed. In addition, the parents of burn children often suffer from stress response and psychological disorders. Recommended treatments for the parents are also provided in this consensus.

4.Sharing the pain: response of the churches in Papua New Guinea to the AIDS pandemic
Papua New Guinea medical journal 1996;39(3):220-224
PIP: This presentation focuses on the involvement of the Church in the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign. The Church believes in the sacredness of life in every person and in a human dignity that needs to be respected. Therefore, people with AIDS should not be condemned, avoided, or rejected. The Church also points out the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness education in explaining the meaning of human sexuality in the context of marriage and religious teaching. Young people are also challenged to be faithful to their Christian valuesparticularly those of respect, sacrifice, discipline, and responsible sexual behavior. Due to the seriousness of the HIV/AIDS situation, both the Church and the government should take up the responsibility to prevent the spread of these diseases. Moreover, in addition to medical programs, Church-related organizations will continue to provide psychological, social, and economic support as well as counseling services.
