Cerebellar arteries and their branches injected with red latex were observed on 50 adult human brains with the naked eye and stereomicroscope. The external and internal diameters of the arteries and the thickness of their walls were measured.According to the distribution, we named the middle inferior cerebellar artery as anterior inferior cerebellar artery, and the long stem type of the anterior inferior cerebellar artery as the posterior infericr cerebellar artery. So that, there are only three pairs of cerebellar arteries: the superior, the anterior inferior and the posterior inferior arteries. Each of the three arteries may be single-branched double-branched or wanting. So the number of the cerebellar arteries is inconstant. The origins of these arteries are variable and the majority of the abnormal sites of origin are situated adjacent to the normal site rostrally. The arterial distributions on both sides are mostly unsymmetrical. These arteries anastomose with each another. If the anterior inferior cerebellar artery is absent the other two arteries of the same side compensate for its loss. While the posterior inferior cerebellar artery is absent or thin it will be compensated for not only by the others of the same side but also by the branches from the corresponding artery of the opposite side. Concerning the diameter of these arteries, the superior cerebellar artery is the largest; the posterior inferior cerebellar artery comes next and the anterior inferior cerebellar artery is the smallest. The blood flow of the inferior surface of the cerebellum, supplied by the posterior inferior artery together with the anterior inferior artery is more abundant than that of the superior surface supplied only by the superior artery.Posterior inferior cerebellar arteries may be classified into two types:deep situated and superficial siluated types. The latter takes 36.8%. It can easily be found and safely operated when performing the operation of anastomosing the posterior inferior cerebellar artery with the occipital artery.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the satisfaction degree of outpatients on policy of separation of clinical pharmacy from 4 third grade hospitals in Shanghai,and provide reference for promoting medical reform policy. METHODS:Parts of outpatients in the 4 new suburb third grade hospitals were investigated by the questionnaire and interview in Shanghai city,and the data was sta-tistically analyzed by Excel software and SPSS 19.0 software. RESULTS:Totally 400 questionnaires were sent out and 368 were valid with effective recovery of 94.3%. The awareness rate of medical separation policy was 81.3% in the outpatients;55.5% of outpatients thought that medicine cost savings effect was not obvious;the overall satisfaction of patients was 91.6%,and the high-est of satisfaction was the service attitude and the lowest was medical expenses. CONCLUSIONS:Policy of separation of clinical pharmacy has reduced the medical expenses,guided the triage treatment of patients partly and improved the satisfaction of patients. It is suggested to shorten the waiting time by optimizing examination process,strengthen price regulation in drug,standardize pro-duction and distribution process,improve use rate of essential medicines and promote clinical rational drug use for further improve-ment of satisfaction.

Objective To study the changes of six sex hormones corresponding to the follicle growth during the normal menstrual cycle of Chinese women.Methods Thirty Chinese women with regular menstrual period and average age of (28.8±3.2) years were selected for the study by Peking Union Medical College Hospital in September,2010.Growth of follicles was monitored by using transvaginal sonography.Six sex hormones,including follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH),luteinizing hormone (LH),estradiol (E2),progesterone (P),testosterone (T),and prolactin (PRL) were measured by chemoluminescence immunoassay every day during a menstrual cycle.Nonparametric statistical analysis was used.ResultsMenstrual cycle of all the patients was in the range of 25 to 39 d,with mean of (29.5 ± 3.1) d.Length of follicular phase and luteal phase was 15.3 and 14.4 d,respectively.Number of days from antral follicle to emergence of dominant follicle,and from the latter to ovulation,was 6.2 and 8.9 d,respectively.Average diameter of preovulatory follicle was 19.33 mm.Both FSH and LH reached peak on the day before ovulation.P started to increase before ovulation and remained at a high plateau from 6th to 9th day after ovulation.Both PRL and T reached peak after ovulation,near the end of a menstrual cycle.Conclusions A small rise of LH and P emerges just 1 to 2 d before ovulation,indicating the maturing of follicle.PRL and T shows cyclic changes as follicle grows.Therefore,PRL and T levels should be measured in the early follicle phases in the clinical practice so that leading the impact of menstrual cycle minimal.

Organic anion transporting polypeptide 1B1 (OATP1B1) is an important liver-specific uptake transporter, which mediates transport of numerous endogenous substances and drugs from blood into hepatocytes. To identify and investigate potential modulators of OATP1B1 from natural products, the effect of 21 frequently used natural compounds and extracts on OATP1B1-mediated fluorescein methotrexate transport was studied by using Chinese hamster ovary cells stably expressing OATP1B1 (CHO-OATP1B1) in 96-well plates. This method could be used for the screening of large compound libraries. Our studies showed that some flavonoids (e.g., quercetin, quercitrin, rutin, chrysanthemum flavonoids and mulberrin) and triterpenoids (e.g., glycyrrhetinic acid and glycyrrhizic acid) were inhibitors of OATP1B1 with IC50 values less than 16 µmol · L(-1). The IC50 value of glycyrrhetinic acid on OATP1B1 was comparable to its blood concentration in clinics, indicating an OATPlB1-mediated drug-drug interaction could occur. Structure-activity relationship analysis showed that flavonoids had much higher inhibitory activity than their glycosides. Furthermore, the type and length of saccharides had a significant effect on their activity. In addition, we used OATP1B1 substrates fluvastatin and rosuvastatin as probe drugs to investigate the substrate-dependent effect of several natural compounds on the function of OATP1B1 in vitro. Our results demonstrated that the effect of these natural products on the function of OATPlB1 was substrate-dependent. In summary, this study would be conducive to predicting and avoiding potential OATP1B1-mediated drug-drug and drug-food interactions and thus provide the experimental basis and guidance for rational drug use.

AIM:To investigate the effect of a treatment proposal , which consisted of tongxinluo , atorvastatin and aspirin, on adventitial inflammation of early atherosclerosis in rabbit carotid artery .METHODS: The atherosclerotic model was established in the rabbits with silicone collar , which was positioned around the carotid arterial adventitia +high-cholesterol diet .New Zealand rabbits ( n =72 ) were randomly divided into 6 groups ( n=12 ): control group , model group, tongxinluo group, atorvastatin group, aspirin group, and three-drug combination group.The rabbits in control group were fed with common foodstuffs , and the rabbits in all the other groups were fixed the right carotid arteries with the silicone tube, and were fed with fatty foodstuffs .The rabbits in tongxinluo group , atorvastatin group and aspirin group were given the suspension of tongxinluo supermicropowder (0.3 g· kg-1· d-1), atorvastatin (2.5 mg· kg-1· d-1) and aspirin (12 mg· kg-1· d-1) respectively,and the rabbits in three-drug combination group were given the suspension of tongxinluo su-permicropowder (0.3 g· kg-1· d-1), atorvastatin (2.5 mg· kg-1· d-1) and aspirin (12 mg· kg -1· d-1) together. The rabbits in each group were fed with the corresponding medicines for 4 weeks .The tissue slices of carotid artery were observed under light microscope with HE staining .The change of blood lipid was detected by biochemical assay .The pro-tein levels of MCP-1, IL-1βand IL-10 in the carotid arterial adventitia were detected by ELISA .The immunohistochemical staining was used to detect the protein expression of IL-8 around the carotid arterial adventitia .RESULTS:Compared with control group, the contents of TC, TG and LDL-C were significantly increased , and the content of IL-10 was significantly decreased in model group .The levels of TC , TG and LDL-C were significantly decreased in tongxinluo group and atorvasta-tin group compared with model group , no significant difference between tongxinluo group and atorvastatin group was ob -served.In the three-drug combination group, the levels of TC, TG and LDL-C were lower than those in atorvastatin group and tongxinluo group .Compared with control group , the contents of MCP-1 and IL-1βwere significantly increased , and the content of IL-10 was significantly decreased in model group .Compared with model group , the contents of MCP-1 and IL-1βwere decreased in tongxinluo group , atorvastatin group and aspirin group , no significant difference between the 3 groups was observed.The content of IL-10 was decreased in three-drug combination group , and the contents of TC , TG and LDL-C were lower than those in tongxinluo group , atorvastatin group and aspirin group .The content of IL-8 was decreased in tongxinluo group , atorvastatin group , aspirin group and three-drug combination group .CONCLUSION: The strategy of three-drug combination enhances the effect of regulating the lipid metabolism and inhibiting the adventitia inflammation .It plays an important role to intervene in the process of atherosclerosis .

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning on cell apoptosis and the expression of c-fos、c-jun in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats with acute cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury.Methods SD rats were divided into 3 groups by completely randomized method:sham operation group(n=6),ischemia reperfusion group (model group),and Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group (preconditioning group).The last two groups were divided randomly into 6 h,24 h,48 h and 72 h reperfusion subgroups (each n=6).Intragastric administration for 7 days,once a day.Middle cerebral artery occlusion and reperfushion model was made by an intraluminal filament method.Cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL method,the expression of c-fos、c-jun was observed by immunohistochemistry.Results ① The number of apoptosic cells at 6、24、48、72hin the hippocampal CA1 area ofrats was respectively (11.17±3.71、39.83 ± 5.67、48.33± 5.32 and 22.17± 3.7 1) single/High power field in the model group,and was respectively (7.83±2.04、15.00±3.58、29.50±6.89 and 10.17±2.32) single/High power field in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group.Compared with the model group,the number of apoptosic cells at each time point in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was decreased in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01 ).② The number ofc-fos at 6、24、48、72 h in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was respectively (14.50± 3.45、33.67± 1.63、42.33±3.32 and 32.00 ±2.90) single/High power field in the model group,and was respectively (10.17 ± 2.93、21.50 ± 2.43、30.83 ± 3.76 and 25.17 ± 5.27) single/High power field in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group.The number of c-jun at 6、24、48、72 h in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was respectively (15.50±4.19、22.83±5.64、33.10±4.19 and 14.67±3.08) single/High power field in the model group,and was respectively (9.67± 3.63、15.67±2.73、21.26±3.63 and 9.33 ±3.61)single/High power field in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group.Compared with the model group,the expression of c-fos、c-jun at each time point in the hippocampal CA1 area of rats was decreased in Shenxiong-Huayu Capsule preconditioning group (P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).ConclusionShenxiong-Huayu capsule can inhibit apoptosis by restraining the expression of c-fos、c-jun and relive cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.

Objective To study the expression of leptin and long form of leptin receptors (Ob R L) messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) and protein in endometrium during mid luteal phase of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) Methods The expession of leptin and Ob R L mRNA in endometrium during mid luteal phase from 15 normal controls and 14 PCOS related anovulatory patients who underwent ovulation induction therapy were studied by in situ hybridization, and levels of leptin and Ob R L protein were investigated by immunohistochemical methods Results The expression of Ob R L mRNA and protein in endometrial glands of most patients with PCOS were weak or moderate positive,whereas the levels of Ob R L mRNA and protein were moderate or strong positive in those of the controls,there was significant difference between the two groups; leptin mRNA and protein expression in enodmetrium of patients with PCOS and controls were not significantly different between the groups Conclusion The expression of Ob R L decreased in endometrium of mid luteal phase in patients with PCOS during induced ovulation,which may be related to low pregnancy rate of patients with PCOS.

Objective To investigate the expression of serotonin transporter (5-HTT) and serotonin 1A treceptor (5-HT1 A R) located in the chronic unpredictable stress (CUS)-relative brain areas (mPFC,VTA,NAc) in high and low CUS susceptibility rats,thus to unveil the possible mechanism lead to the different CUS susceptibility.Methods One hundred and fifty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into experiment group (n =120) and control group (n =30).Rats in experiment group were trained according to established CUS procedure.OFT and FST were used to assess the different susceptibility to CUS:high susceptibility group (H group)and low susceptibility group (L group).After the model was established,rats were scarified and cardio-perfused,and the brains were removed and sliced up coronarily.The sections including ventral tegmental area (VTA),nucleus accumben (NAc),medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) were selected.The mRNA levels of 5-HTT and 5-HT1AR in the regions were estimated with in situ hybridization.Results The expression of 5-HTT in H group were significantly lower than that of in the control and L group in all regions (mPFC:169.20 ± 8.23 vs 143.53 ±5.31 ; Nac:177.41 ± 5.68 vs 158.65 ± 5.24 ; VTA:174.16 ± 5.61 vs 158.65 ± 4.85),and the difference between the H and L group was significant(P＜0.01) ;however,the expression of 5-HT1AR in H group were significantly higher than that of in the control and L group in all regions (mPFC:113.98 ± 7.46 vs 125.90 ± 3.30 ; Nac:112.11± 5.50 vs 125.06 ± 3.97 ;VTA:103.11 ± 6.05 vs 115.57 ± 3.19),and the difference between the H and L group was significant (P＜ 0.01).Conclusion The overexpression of 5-HT1AR and down regulation of 5-HTT in the circuit of VTA-NAc-mPFC may be the basis of the high susceptibility to CUS.

Objective To compare the value of transrectal ultrasonography(TRUS) and magnetic resonance(MR) in preoperative estimation of circumferential resection margin (CRM) of mid-low rectal cancer.Methods Both TRUS and MR were performed prior to surgery in 111 patients with mid-low rectal cancer.The CRM was evaluated and compared with the postoperative pathologic findings.Results The accuracy of TRUS and MR for CRM was 91.9％(102/111) and 85.6％(95/111),respectively,there was no statistical difference between them (P =0.137).Their specificities were 94.0％ (79/84)and 84.5％ (71/84),there was statistical difference between them(P =0.046).The consistency of the results between TRUS and pathology was better than that between MR and pathology(Kappa1 =0.783,Kappas =0.652).Conclusions TRUS is proved to have an important diagnostic value for CRM of mid-low rectal cancer.

Objective To provide nutritional supportive scheme for patients with radiation injury through the treatment of the one exposed to Nanjing 192Ir source accident.Methods The reasonable nutrition treatment scheme was made on the basis of dietary survey and nutritional index monitoring during clinical stages of the patient,including body weight,body mass index(BMI),biochemical indexes,electrolyte,etc.,as well as metabolic cart determination of resting energy expenditure (REE).Results Patient on admission (days 5 post-irradiated) weighing 42.5 kg,172 days after the first irradiated (the first skin grafting) fell to a minimum of 36 kg,then gradually rise,hen rose back to normal range on days 383 before discharge.Normal admission hemoglobin was 135 g/L,172 d after irradiated to a minimum of 54 g/L,normal discharge;when lymphocytes admission low as 0.5 × 109/L,58 days back to normal after exposure,172 days after irradiated down to 0.4 × 109/L.Serum albumin was normal admission 41.2 g/L,172 days after irradiated down to 25.3 g/L.The normal level of serum prealbumin was 0.22 g/L,248 days to a minimum of 0.04 g/L,the basic return to normal at discharge was 0.17 g/L.Admission normal liver function,bilirubin index slightly higher,the all in one parenteral nutrition after about 2.5 months later,bilirubin and liver function indicators were gradually increased,the adjusted treatment and nutrition liver and gallbladder and other gradually returned to normal after treatment.REE and the body weight were determined by metabolic cart on days 294,308 and 342 for the energy requirements.Conclusions For patient with radiation injury,appropriate nutrition therapy is a key method for the clinical treatment and rehabilitation,which can maintain the nutritional status of patients and improve clinical treatment.
