Objective:To investigate the status quo of psychological distress among parents of children with cancer and analyze its influencing factors.Methods:Totally 334 parents of pediatric oncology patients meeting the inclusion criteria were selected by convenience sampling from Hunan Children's Hospital between June and October 2022. A questionnaire survey was conducted using a general information questionnaire, Distress Thermometer, Social Support Rating Scale, and Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale-Family Member Form.Results:A total of 334 questionnaires were distributed, with 298 valid responses received, making the effective response rate 89.22%. The DT score of the 298 parents of pediatric oncology patients was (7.58±2.85). Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that parental gender, the impact of caregiving on income, economic pressure, uncertainty in illness, and social support were significant influencing factors of the parents' psychological distress ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The psychological distress of parents of children with cancer is at a relatively high level and is influenced by multiple factors. Medical professionals can implement targeted interventions based on specific circumstances to alleviate the psychological distress of these parents.

Objective:To clarify the effects of microwave radiation on anxiety-like behavior, the histomorphology of the secondary visual cortex, and calcium activity in neurons.Methods:36 C57BL/6N mice were selected and divided into control group and microwave radiation group according to the random number table method. In the simple behavioral testing, there were 8 mice in the control group and 7 mice in the radiation group. Combining fiber optic recording with behavioral experiments, there were 8 mice in the control group and 7 mice in the radiation group. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining was conducted with 3 mice in each group. A high-power microwave simulated source in the X-band with a center frequency of 9.875 GHz and an average power density of 12 mW/cm 2 was used to irradiate the mice for 15 minutes, establishing a microwave radiation animal model. Then, anxiety-like behavior changes in the radiation group were identified using the open-field and elevated plus maze (EPM) tests. The effects of microwave radiation on the histomorphology of the secondary visual cortex were investigated using HE staining and optical microscopy. Based on the genetically encoded calcium imaging technique, as well as optical fiber recording combined with behavioral paradigms in the open field and the EPM, the changes of calcium activity in neurons in the V2M region of the secondary visual cortex were detected. Results:Compared to the control group, the radiation group showed a significant decrease in the frequency of exploring the central region of the open field and the open arm of the EPM ( t = 2.24, 3.10, P < 0.05). Furthermore, the radiation group exhibited the degeneration and apoptosis of some neurons in the secondary visual cortex, primarily manifested as pyknosis and deep staining, cell body shrinkage, and the slightly widening of perivascular space. Fiber optic recordings and behavioral experiments indicated that compared to the control group, mice in the radiation group exhibited significantly increased calcium activities in neurons of the secondary visual cortex when exploring the central region of the open field ( t = -2.75, P < 0.05) or the open arm of the EPM ( t = -2.77, -3.41, P < 0.05) compared to those before radiation after microwave exposure. Conclusions:Microwave radiation can induce anxiety-like behaviors and histopathological changes in the secondary visual cortex. Increased calcium activity in neurons of the secondary visual cortex is proved to be an important mechanism underlying the changes in anxiety-like behavior due to microwave radiation.

Objective:To observe the long-term effects of conventional disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (cDMARDs) in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and drug-related adverse reactions, and provide reference to clinical treatment and assessment.Methods:Retrospective analysis was performed for AS patients with more than 10 years follow-up records in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital. The AS patients enrolled were treated with cDMARDs, non-steroid anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), and glucocorticoidsonl only. The treatment group was treated continuously for at least 3 years, and the control group was untreated or treated for less than 3 months. Clinical symptoms, inflammatory indicators, imaging results and drug-related adverse reactions of all patients were collected for statistical analysis. The counting data were tested by χ2 test, the measurement data in normal distribution was tested by t test, and the measurement data that not normally distributed was tested by mann-whitney U test. Paired test was used for statistical processing before and after treatment. Results:A total of 166 eligible patients were included, including 111 in the treatment group and 55 in the control group. There were no statistical significant differences between the treatment group and the control group at baseline including the mean follow-up time, symptomatic disease course, age, sex ratio, human lymphocyte antigen (HLA)-B27 positive rate, duration of morning stiffness, pain at night, peripheral arthritis, ESR, CRP and imaging data. After 10 years, the treat-ment group had shorter morning stiffness[(8±18) vs (22±34), U=2 228, P=0.008], less nocturnal pain [(2/1.9%) vs (19/36.5%), χ2=37.037, P<0.01], lower ESR level [(14±13) vs (20±19), t=2.249, P=0.026], lower CRP level [(6±6) vs (10±11), t=2.154, P=0.033], lower incidence of peripheral arthritis [(23/20.7%) vs(25/45.5%), χ2=10.946, P=0.001] and lower sacroiliac arthritis progression rate [(28/25.2% ) vs (46/83.6%), χ2=50.922, P<0.01], and lower spinal progression rate [(8/7.2%) vs (51/92.7%), χ2=117.407, P<0.01] compared with the control group. The differences between the two groups was statistically significant. The main medications and drug proportions in the treatment group were as follows: sulfasalazine (100%), methotrexate (86.5%), NSAIDs (98.2%), glucocorticoid (78.4%) and thalidomide (62.2%). The main drug-related adverse reactions that occurred during the treatment included dizziness, abnormal menstruation, and reversible liver dysfunction. Conclusion:The combination of cDMARDs can effectively control the clinical symptoms of most AS patients, reduce inflammation indicators, delay the progression of sacroiliac joint and spinal damage, and have no serious drug-related adverse reactions. Almost all of the untreated AS patients have radiographic progression of the sacroiliac joint and spine.

Objective To observe the clinical characteristics of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients with hyperuricemia (HUA), and to understand the correlation between AS and HUA, so as to improve the understanding of AS patients with HUA. Methods A retrospective analysis was carried out in patients with the diagnosis with AS from November 2012 to August 2016. Patients were divided into two groups based on complicated with and without HUA. The clinical manifestations, inflammatory indicators, imaging manifest-ations, treatment and outcomes of the two groups were statistically analyzed, and the follow-up results of some patients with HUA were analyzed. The chi-square test was used for the counting data. The measurement data in line with the normal distribution were tested by t test, and the measurement data in non-normal distribution were tested by Mann-Whitney U test. Results Three hundred and sixty-two patients with AS were collected, consisting of 288 males (79.6％) and 74 females (20.4％), aged from 14 to 72 years, a course of disease was 3 months to 40 years. There were 87 cases (24.0％) with hyperuricemia, 77 cases were male (88.5％, 21.3％of all AS patients), and 10 were female (11.5％, 2.8％ of all AS patients). Shorter morning stiffness time [(13 ±31) min and (22 ±48) min, Z=-2.231, P=0.026], lower IgM level [(1.4 ±1.3) g/L and (3.0 ±4.3) g/L, Z=-2.040, P=0.041], and lower erythrocyte sedimentation rate [(25±17) mm/1 h and (33±22) mm/1 h, t=-2.617, P=0.007] in the HUA group when compared with patients without HUA. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Four cases (4.6％) had gout arthritis in the group with HUA, all were male, blood uric acid level all>420 μmol/L. There were 7 cases (8.0％) of urolithiasis in the group with HUA, and 24 cases (8.7％) of urolithiasis in the group without HUA, but there was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of urolithiasis between the two groups. None developed hypertensive disease, heart disease, nephropathy, or diabetis. Conclusion The incidence of hyperuricemia is high in AS, and with lower disease activity, and fewer complications.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the origin of supernumerary small marker chromosomes (sSMCs) carried by two fetuses. METHODS: Single nucleotide polymorphism array (SNP-array) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis were carried out on cells cultured from the amniotic fluid samples. RESULTS: SNP-array analysis showed both fetuses to be arr[hg19]22q11.1q11.21(16 888 899-18 649 190)×4, with a duplicated 1.7 Mb region (16 888 899-18 649 190) leading to partial tetrasomy of 22q11.1-22q11.21. FISH confirmed that both fetuses were 47,XN,+mar.ish idic(22)(q11.2) (RP11-958H20 ++),which suggested a diagnosis of Cat-eye syndrome (CES). The appearance of abortuses were consistent with the diagnosis of CES. CONCLUSION Two fetuses with CES were diagnosed by genetic testing. The latter has provided a basis for genetic counseling.

Objective In order to acquaint with the prevalence of Tibetan sheep plague in this area, we conducted a serum epidemiological investigation of Tibetan sheep plague in Qinghai Province. Methods Indirect hemagglutination assay (IHA) and colloidal gold immunochromatography (GICA) were applied to test serum samples of Tibetan sheep and whole blood samples from jugular vein of Tibetan sheep were collected in 8 Prefectures of Qinghai Province from 2013 to 2016. Results A total of 86 positive Tibetan sheep serum samples with plague F1 antibody were detected by both methods, and the positive rate was 0.68％ (86/12710), the samples collected in Xinghai County Hainan Prefecture had the highest positive rate, which was 5.20％ (27/519). The Haixi Prefecture and Yushu Prefecture were historical epidemic areas, the positive rates were 0.65％(15/2313) and 0.26％(6/2293), respectively. Hainan Prefecture, Guoluo Prefacture and Huangnan Prefecture were newly confirmed epidemic areas, the positive rates were 1.61％ (28/1741), 1.01％ (15/1481), and 1.44％(19/1316), respectively. The antibody titers were 1:20 to 1:5120, the samples collected in Maqin County Guoluo Prefecture had the highest titer, namely 1 :5120. Conclusions In Qinghai Province, Tibetan sheep plague is endemic, and there are outbreaks in some regions. So we have to enhance the Tibetan sheep plague monitoring especially in Marmot plague epidemic area.

Objective To understand the epidemic trend of Tibetan sheep plague in Guoluo Prefecture,Qinghai Province,we detected the plague F1 antibody in Tibetan sheep serum in this area.Methods Indirect hemagglutination test (IHA) and colloidal gold immunochromatography (GICA) were applied to test serum samples of Tibetan sheep which were separated from 5 ml whole blood drew from jugular vein in Maqin County,Maduo County,Gande County,Banma County,Jiuzhi County and Dari County in 2014 and 2015.Results We collected 1 481 serum samples,566 from Maqin County,315 from Maduo County,150 from Gande County,150 from Banma County,150 from Jiuzhi County and 150 from Dari County.Totally 14 serum samples showed F1 antibody positive,the positive rate was 0.95％ (14/1 481),and they were all from Maqin County.Conclusions This area has the prevalence of Tibetan sheep plague.Therefore,the monitoring work of Tibetan sheep plague should be strengthened.

Objective To characterize Hfq-dependent phenotypes in stress response and to dissect Hfq-dependent transcription of virulence genes and stress-responsive genes in Vibrio cholera.Methods The hfq null mutant strain (△hfq) and the complemented mutant strain (△hfq/pUC18-hfq) were constructed from the wild-type Vibrio cholera.Comparisons on the motility,biofilm formation,growth under various oxygen-supplying conditions,outer membrane resistance,and sensitivity to oxidative stress were analyzed between the wild type strain and the mutant strains.Reverse-transcript fluorescence quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was used to determine the transcriptional levels of target genes in the above mentioned strains.Results △hfq and △hfq/pUC18-hfq strains were successfully constructed.The motility,outer membrane resistance and sensitivity to oxidative stress were reduced,but biofilm formation was enhanced in the hfq null mutant strain.RT-qPCR testified that Hfq had regulation effects on gene transcription for forming falagellum,extracellular polysaccharide,outer membrane protein and oxidative stress in Vibrio cholera.Conclusion As a RNA chaperone,Hfq could affect Vibrio cholera in its biofilm formation,resistance to oxidative stress and antibiotics resistance through regulating the transcription of multiple metabolic genes and virulence genes,which indicates that Hfq,combined with other regulators,may play a key role in the complex regulation of metabolic genes and virulence genes.

Objective To evaluate the risk of the occurrence of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and invasive cervical cancer in the oral HPV carriers through a population-based investigation in Shanghai.Methods A total of 1200 cases of outpatients who attended the annual cervical examination and 50 preoperational cases of inpatients with CIN Ⅲ or invasive cervical cancer were enrolled from three clinical centers in Shanghai.The oral HPV infection was determined by real-time PCR.In 1200-case cross-sectional study,the incidence rate of CIN was compared between the oral HPV positive and negative cohort.In 1250-case case-control study,the positive rate of oral HPV DNA test was compared among normal control group,CIN Ⅰ-Ⅲ,and invasive cancer case groups,and all odds ratio (OR) values were calculated,respectively.The HPV transmission-related demographic and behavioral characters of the oral HPV carriers were also analyzed.Results The oral HPV carriers accounted for 5.9％ (71/1200) of the investigated outpatients.The oral HPV DNA positive rates were gradually increased with the cervical disease grades,which were 5.8％ (68/1182,normal),2/13 (CIN Ⅰ),1/5 (CIN Ⅱ),31.4％ (11/35,CIN Ⅲ) and 5/15 (invasive cancer).In cross-sectional cohort studies,the relative risks (RR) of CIN Ⅰ,Ⅱ were 2.9 and 4.0 for oral HPV carriers,respectively.In case-control study,the OR values for CIN Ⅰ-Ⅲ and invasive cervical cancer were 3.1(95％CI:1.6-10.1),4.2(95％CI:1.7-28.4),7.1(95％CI:4.8-19.8) and 10.1 (95％ CI:3.2-32.1),respectively.The oral sex and multi-sexual partner were two major risk factors for the oral and cervical HPV co-infection,HPV-related cervical cancer and precancerous diseases according to behavioral analysis.Conclusions There are complicated transmission pathways between oral and cervicalHPV.Oral HPV carriers should be intensively followed up and their oral HPV infection and HPV-related cervical diseases should be treated together.
