Objective To investigate epidemiological characteristics in hospitalized adolescents and children who suffered from traffic injuries,such as source and location of an accident,the victim's gender arid age,and the site of injury.Methods The chosen subjects were 163 hospitalized children aged 1 to 18 years old,who were admitted to general hospitals in Shanghai in the years of 2004 to 2005 as a result of traffic injuries.Descriptive statistics and analysis were used to interpret the data.Results Children of immigrant workers and suburban residents were the main victims ;the main cause of injury was the collision between the motor vehicle and the pedestrian;this type of traffic injury was the most prevalent among children between 5 to 9 years old;and the locations of the injury was most commonly found in the head,the face, and the extremities.Conclusions From this statistical evidence,it could be concluded that it would be worthwhile for the government to pay more attention to children of immigrants and suburban residents to effectively educate them about traffic safety and knowledge,tt is also advisable to improve the safety protection and post - traffic injury care of children passengers.

Using the method of SWOT,the author analyzed the advantages and the weaknesses of the scientific research administration of the hospital.It realed that the exterior opportunities and the interior strength are important to establish hospital reputation.On the other side,involvement in scientific research is essential for carreer development of medical professionals.Suggestions are made to optimize the efficiency of scientific research administration so as to promote the core competency of the hospital.

Background: The quality of life has been greatly influenced and the cost of medical expenses is very high in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The etiology and pathogenesis of IBS are still unclear, and the prevention and treatment of this disease still lack of effective methods. Objective: To explore and analyze the effects of Tiaohe Ganpi Hexin Decoction (TGHD), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine for regulating the liver and spleen, on IBS patients with diarrhea. Design, setting, participants and interventions: All 40 IBS patients came from the First Hospital of Jinan University, Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, and were randomly divided into two groups. Patients in the treatment group (n=20) were given TGHD, while those in the control group (n=20) were prescribed oral pinaverium with a four-week treatment period. Main outcome measures: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome score, total obviously effective rate, disappearance rate of symptoms, and clinical symptom score in the two groups were evaluated before and after four-week treatment. Results: After the treatment, TCM syndrome scores in both groups were decreased (P<0.01), and the TCM syndrome score in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.01). There was a significant difference in the total obviously effective rate between the two groups (P<0.01), and the total obviously effective rates in the treatment and control groups were 85%(17/20) and 45%(9/20) respectively. The disappearance rates of abdominal pain, abdominal distention, poor stool output, stool frequency, stool character and mucous stool in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The symptom scores of abdominal pain, abdominal distention, poor stool output, stool frequency, stool character and mucous stool in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: TGHD can significantly improve the clinical symptoms in IBS patients with diarrhea.

Objective To research and design a kind of high accuracy laser power density meter to measure laser power density in clinical medicine,in order to combine laser with clinical medicine well.Methods The pyroelectric detector was used to convert the laser signal to available electrical signal,preamplifier filter circuit and control circuit were designed to match the detector,and C was used for software programming.With the combination of hardware and software design,a high precision laser power density meter was developed,which was based on AVR microcontroller.Results The instrument could measure the minimum 1 mW/cm2 of laser power density accurately and the error rate was 2％,which met the requirements of the laser power density meter parameters in medical application.Conclusion The power density meter has a high precision,small error rate and good stability,and it can measure the laser power density accurately.

Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of reported emergency public health events at schools from 2006 to 2013, and provide a scientific basis for better disposal of school-related events. Methods The reported emergency public health events at schools in Tianjin from 2006 to 2013 were collected, and descriptive epidemiological analysis was conducted on data. Results A total of 267 reported emergency public health events at school in Tianjin during 2006-2013, of which 257 infectious disease events, accounting for 96.25%. The incident occurred in primary schools and nurseries. The peak was from March to June and October to December for the incident. The top three species of disease onset were influenza (2 360 cases), chicken pox (2 032 cases) and mumps (1 813 cases). There was a correlation between the duration and interval from onset of the first case to report of emergency public health events(rs=0.522,P＜0.05). Conclusion In recent years, school public health emergency events are high momentum, mainly in rural areas, primary schools and nurseries. Timely detection and disposal of emergency public health events can reduce the harm generated by them.

Objective To investigate the eating problems of outpatient infants,preschool age children(1 to 7 years old) enrolled in the Department of Child Health Care,Nanjing Maternal and Child Health Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University,and to analyze its correlation with children's physical development,so as to establish strategies for preventing abnormal eating habit in children.Methods A toll of 2458 children met the criteria,and caregivers (mothers) completed the Children's Eating Behavior Questionnaires (CEBQ) in Department of Child Health Care,Nanjing Maternal and Child Health Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University were selected and the children's sociodemographic data and the morbidity of children eating problems were investigated.The correlation between children's body mass index(BMI) with children's eating problems was determined by using Chi-square test and multiple regression analysis.Results About 66.2％ (1627/2458 cases) had normal weight,and 10.8％ (257/2458 cases) and 8.5 ％ (210/2458 cases) were overweight (BMI ＞ P85-P95) or obese (BMI ≥ P95),respectively.The prevalence of eating behavior problems was detected during 25-36 months.For 1-to-7-year-old children,the highest detection rate of eating problems was inattention and eating at non-permanent locations,occupying 64.7％ (1590/2458 cases)and 50.5％ (1241/2458 cases),respectively;the prevalence rate of preferring to junk food was the lowest,accounting for 19.3％ (474/2458 cases).The children's eating problems had a high association with the children's BMI.Among them,children with eating problems,such as difficultly in accepting the varying food stuff[at the age of 12 month,odds ratio(OR)=11.50,95％ confidence interval(CI):1.84-72.16] and eating at non-permanent locations(at 25-36month,OR=1.77,95 ％ CI:1.11-2.83),were prone to be wasting away;children with eating problems,such as preferring to junk food (at 12 month,OR=5.08,95 ％ CI:1.43-18.00;13-18 month,OR=2.17,95 ％ CI:1.06-4.44),rarely eating vegetables or fruit (19-24 month,OR=4.06,95％CI:1.46-11.31) and inattention (12 month,OR=3.85,95 ％ CI:1.52-9.79),were associated with overweight or obesity (all P＜0.01).Conclusions There was a high prevalence of eating problems in children between 12-84 month(1-7 years old) in Nanjing.Improper children's eating behaviors can increase the risks of wasting away or children's overweight/obesity.

Objective To investigate the association of chromosome 8p copy number alteration (CNA) with postoperative survival of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC),and to screen for possible target genes in the survival-related CNA (s) in 8p.Methods 187 HCC patients were enrolled into the study,which included 66 patients whose follow-up data were available and the follow-up was 2.6 ～ 73.3 months.High-resolution Agilent 244K comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) and Affymetrix U133 Plus2.0 expression arrays were used to screen for CNAs and gene expression differences in 8p.The associations between CNAs in 8p and survival were analyzed using the log-rank test,Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox proportional hazards models.The gene expression levels between the groups were compared by the Mann-Whitney U test.Results Copy number loss on 8p12 (31/66,47％) was significantly associated with reduced survival rate,and HCC patients with 8p12 loss had a 4.1-fold (95％ CI =1.8 ～ 9.4,P ＜ 0.05) increased hazard ratio (HR) for death from HCC,as compared to those without the loss.The mRNA expression levels of the 3 genes in 8p12,including TMEM66,DCTN6,and MAK16,were significantly decreased in HCCs with gene loss than in HCCs without the loss (all P ＜ 0.05),and in non-tumorous liver tissues (all P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Loss of 8p12 is an independent prognostic marker of unfavorable survival for patients with HCC,and underexpression of genes TMEM66,DCTN6,and MAK16,owing to 8p12 loss,contributed to unfavorable prognosis.

This study was aimed to determine the solubility an d oil-water partition coefficient of main active com-ponents in Ge-Gen Qin-Lian (GGQL) Tablets (puerarin, baicalin and berberine hydrochloride) in phosphate buffer solution of different pH values and under the background of many components. Solubility of puerarin, baicalin and berberine hydrochloride in different medium pH, and oil-water partition coefficient of the octanol-water and oc-tanol-buffer system were determined by HPLC method. The results showed that the solubility and oil-water partition coefficient of puerarin, baicalin and berberine hydrochloride were varied with the change of pH, and varied under the background of components. At pH 7.4, the solubility was the biggest;puerarin was 7.56 mg·mL-1;baicalin was 17.07 mg·mL-1; berberine hydrochloride was 3.57 mg·mL-1. Oil-water partition coefficient P of these components at pH 1.0 was bigger;puerarin was 0.420 (lgP=-0.38);baicalin was 10.783 (lgP=1.03);berberine hydrochloride was 0.267 (lgP=-0.57). It was concluded that lipid solubility of puerarin, baicalin and berberine hydrochloride at pH 1.0 was better. It was speculated that better absorption in the stomach, and low lipid solubility under other pH. It was speculated that lipid solubility may be one of the reasons affecting the intestinal absorption.

Objective To compare the dissolution of Chuangxiong powder in different medium and discuss the dissolution characteristics in vitro of Changxiong powder. Methods The paddle method was adopted, the UV spectrophotometric method was developed to determine the in vitro dissolution quantity of Changxiong powder in five medium (water, 0.1 mol/L hydrochloric acid, acetate buffer of pH 4.5, phosphate buffer of pH 6.8, phosphate buffer of pH 7.4) with ferulic acid as index, and evaluated by drawing the dissolution curve and using the similar factor method and Weibull model. Results The dissolution quantity of Changxiong oral powder in five medium was different. The dissolution quantity in water, 0.1 mol/L hydrochloric acid, acetate buffer of pH 4.5 and phosphate buffer of pH 6.8 was similar and fit Weibull model, but it mutated in phosphate buffer of pH 7.4 and reached the maximum amount at 30 min. Conclusion The dissolution quantity of Changxiong powder is gradually increasing and the time is shorted in the medium from acidic to neutral then to alkaline. Dissolution curve is similar in the acidic and neutral medium. Changxiong powder dissolves out fast and completely in the alkaline medium.
