AIM: To observe the effect of compound clindamycin liniment on acne vulgaris. 　METHODS: A multi-centre, open-label trial of compound clindamycin liniment in treating acne vulgaris. One hundred and fifty-three patients used compound clindamycin liniment on face three times per day for 4 wk.　RESULTS: The total excellent response rate was 83.0%. The total effect rate on pustule and papule was 96.1% and 80.7% respectively. The adverse reaction rate was 1.9%.　CONCLUSION: Compound clindamycin liniment is an effective and safe drug in the treatment of acne vulgaris.

Objective To study the adverse effects of outdoor air pollution on children's respiratory system health in Anshan city. Methods 1951 children were randomly selected from three areas with different degree of air pollution in Anshan city. The parents of the children were asked to answer a questionnaire about their children's respiratory health and home environment. The data of health were collected included persistent cough, persistent phlegm, asthma, current asthma, wheeze, and wheeze symptom. Results The prevalence rates of persistent cough, persistent phlegm, asthma, current asthma, wheeze and wheeze symptom were 9.48%, 4.82%, 1.33%, 0.92%, 6.30% and 4.97% respectively. Outdoor air pollution was a risk factor for persistent cough and persistent phlegm. The respiratory symptoms increased as the house became near to the main traffic lines. Combined effect of susceptible factor and outdoor air pollution was obvious, the prevalence rates of respiratory diseases were higher in the susceptible children who were influenced by the other risk factors compared with those who were not influenced by the same factors. Conclusion Outdoor air pollution is an important factor which will damage children's respiratory system in Anshan city.

Objective To observe the characteristics and onset time of seizures caused by kindling of bilateral amygdale, and to discuss its mechanism.Methods 40 adult Wistar rats were randomly assigned into bilateral amygdala kindling group and unilateral amygdala kindling group. The models were made according to Goddard's method. Results All the rats in bilateral amygdala kindling group developed stage Ⅴ convulsions after a mean of 20.9 stimulations.12 rats of which showed spontaneous seizure discharges. But in unilateral amygdala kindling group, the successful kindling rate was 60% after a mean of 8.9 stimulations. Objective To explore the clinical value of the different components of glycosylated hemoglobin in pa-tients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods A total of 217 patients were divided into 3 groups:CAD group (groupⅠ, n=60), CAD patients without acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and with diabetes mellitus group (groupⅡ, n=60) and ACS patients with diabetes mellitus group (groupⅢ, n=97). Fifty-eight healthy volunteers in the same time period were selected as control group. The values of fructose glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1a), lactose glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1b), glucose glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), hemoglobin P3 component (HbP3), hemoglobin A0 component (HbA0), unstable glycosyl-ated hemoglobin (LA1c/CHb1) and alkali-resistant hemoglobin (HbF) were measured. These parameters were compared be-tween 4 groups. Logistic regression was used to analyze factors that influencing CAD and CAD with diabetes mellitus. The re-ceiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the diagnostic efficiency of these factors. Results There were significant differences in titers of HbA1b, HbA1c, HbP3 and HbA0 between groupⅠ, groupⅡ, groupⅢand control group (P＜0.01, or P＜0.05). There were no significant differences in levels of glycosylated hemoglobin parameters between groupⅡand groupⅢ(P>0.05). Logistic regression and ROC curve analysis showed that HbA1c and HbP3 were indepen-dent effects of CAD, and there were some diagnostic efficiency of CAD. The diagnostic efficiency of ROC curve was consis-tent in HbA1c and HbP3 between group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ. Conclusion Levels of HbA1b, HbA1c, HbP3 and HbA0 are closely related to CAD and CAD with diabetes mellitus. HbA1c and HbP3 are independent effects of CAD and, there are some diagnostic efficiency in CAD.

Objective To evaluate the effects of the right stellate ganglion block on the expression of β3adrenoceptor (β3-AR) in rabbits with heart failure.Methods Forty-eight Japanese white rabbits of both sexes,weighing 2.5-3.0 kg,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =16 each):sham operation group (group S),heart failure group (group HF) and right stellate ganglion block group (group RSGB).Heart failure was induced by occlusion of left anterior descending branch of coronary artery and confirmed by ultrasonic cardiography 4 weeks later.A PE-10 catheter was inserted into the right stellate ganglion for administration of drugs.0.25％ bupivacaine 2 ml was injected through the catheter once a day for 2 weeks in group RSGB,while the equal volume of normal saline was injected instead of bupivacaine in S and HF groups.The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD),ejection fraction (EF) and left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) were measured at 1 day before ligation (T0),before catheter insertion (T1),before 8th administration (T2),and 1 day after the last administration (T3).Eight rabbits were sacrificed at T1 and T3 in each group and myocardial specimens were obtained from the apex of the left ventricle for determination of the expression of β3-AR by Western blot.Results Compared with group S,the LVEDD and LVESD were significantly enlarged and LVEF and LVFS were decreased at T1-3,and the expression of β3-AR was up-regulated at T1,3 in groups HF and RSGB (P ＜ 0.05).Compared with group HF,the LVEDD and LVESD were significantly decreased,LVEF and LVFS were increased,and the expression of β3-AR was significantly down-regulated at T3 in group RSGB (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The right stellate ganglion block can improve the cardiac function of rabbits with heart failure through down-regulating the expression of β3-AR in myocardium.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of follow-ups on medical compliance behaviors and quality of life of patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).Methods One hundred GERD patients who were hospitalized in our department from June 2012 to June 2013 were divided into intervention group (n=50) and control group (n=50) according to the random number table. Both groups received the same drug treatment and conventional nursing during hospitalization.The control group received periodically outpatient follow-ups,while the intervention group received professional follow-ups by trained nurses after discharge from hospital. The compliance behaviors and quality of life in these patients were assessed and statistically analyzed after 6 months nursing intervention or outpatient follow-up.Results With the implement of follow-up in patients with GERD,the intervention group was better than the control group in compliance behaviors,including the decrement of smoking and drinking,strong tea,coffee,having midnight snack and spicy food (P<0.05),but there was no difference in the behavior of staying-up between the two groups.Concerning the quality of life,the intervention group was significantly better than the control group in the 6 items excluding the physical and physiological functions (P<0.05).Conclusion Professional follow-ups can improve compliance behavior and quality of life of GERD patients.

Objective To understand the levels of plasma endothelin (ET) and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in cough variant asthma(CVA) patients, and to investigate their correlation and clinical implications. Methods Thirty CVA patients,30 typical bronchial asthma patients and 25 healthy controls were recruited. Three milliliter limosis venous blood were drawn from each patient to measure the levels of plasma ET and CGRP by radioimmanity. Results ①The levels of ET in the CVA group and typical bronchial asthma group were higher than that in healthy controls (P < 0.01). Their values were (103.58±28.66) ng/L, (129.37±27.28) ng/L and (72.63±21.52)ng/L, respectively. The levels of CGRP in the CVA group and typical bronchial asthma group were (7.62±2.56) ng/L and(6.63±2.09)ng/L The level of CGRP in the healthy controls group was (21.60±3.29) ng/L. The first two groups were lower than the latter(P < 0.01). However, there was no significant difference between the CVA group and typical bronchial asthma group(P >0.05). ②ET and CGRP were negatively correlated in both CVA group(r= -0.819,P<0.05) and typical bronchial asthma group(r= -0.738,P<0.05). Conclusions ET and CGRP were negatively correlated in both CVA group and typical bronchial asthma group, which means that ET and CGRP were a couple of antagonistic factors participated in the regulation of CVA, and may play an important role in the process of CVA.

Objective To analyze type of irrational outpatient infusion prescriptions returned by clinical pharmacists'pre -prescription review and intervention in our hospital.Methods Outpatient infusion prescriptions reviewed by clinical pharmacists in 2014 were statistically analyzed in terms of type,constitution and rate of qualified prescriptions.Results Type of unstandard writing or input errors prescriptions accounted for 35.19%,which was the great majority of the irrational outpatient infusion prescriptions.The rate of qualified prescriptions was 99.15%,which was higher than 91.53% in 2011 when pre -prescription review and intervention had not implemented.Conclusion Pre -prescription review and intervention could improve the quality of outpatient infusion prescriptions.Finally,safety and effectiveness of outpatient infusion could be guaranteed.

OBJECTIVE To study the period of validity of iodine skin disinfectant povidone-iodine(Iodophor) in different seasons,different hours and different using frequency.METHODS In spring and summer respectively,the iodine was used for 10 days continually after the bottle opened.Then,the sample drawing from bottle was detected for iodine content,pathogenic bacteria and contamination of bacteria quantification.RESULTS The available iodine content was coming down gradually with the increasing in usage time and frequency.And the changing in the content differed in spring and summer.Microorganism was not found in povidone-iodine under using time,different seasons and using frequency.CONCLUSIONS The skin disinfectant can be used for 10 days at least under standard range after begining using.

Objective To evaluate the role of nitric oxide (NO) in the spinal cord in the maintenance of diabetic neuropathic pain in rats.Methods Male Sprague-Dawley rats,aged 2 months,weighing 180-200 g,were used in the study.Diabetes mellitus was induced by intraperitoneal streptozotocin (STZ) 60 mg/kg and confirmed by blood glucose ＞ 16.7 mmol/L on day 2 after STZ injection.Twenty diabetic rats were randomly allocated into diabetes mellitus group (DM group,n =10) and L-NAME (non-selective NOS inhibitor) group (LN group,n =10).Another 10 age-matched normal rats served as control group (C group).On 21 days after STZ injection,L-NAME 10 mg/kg was injected intraperitoneally once a day for 7 consecutive days in LN group,whereas the equal volume of normal saline 5 ml/kg was given instead of L-NAME in DM group.Paw withdrawal threshold to yon Frey filament stimulation (PWT) was measured before STZ infection and on 7,14,21 and28 days after STZ injection.The rats were sacrificed after the last measurement of PWT and the lumbar segments of spinal cord were removed for determination of NO content and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) expression (by Western blot analysis) in spinal cord tissues.Results Compared with C group,PWT was significantly decreased on 14,21 and 28 days after STZ injection,and the NO content and nNOS expression in spinal cord tissues were increased in DM and LN groups (P ＜ 0.05).Compared with DM group,PWT was significantly increased on 28 days after STZ injection,and the NO content and nNOS expression in spinal cord tissues were decreased in LN group (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion NO in the spinal cord is involved in the maintenance of diabetic neuropathic pain in rats and the mechanism is related to the enhanced function of nNOS.
