1.Thoughts on "Trusteeship of Hospital Drugstore"
China Pharmacy 2005;0(13):-
OBJECTIVE: To discuss whether the "Trusteeship of Hospital Drugstore" of mode is conducive to drug price reduction and reduction of patients' medical expense for the benefit of patients and whether this model is helpful for hospital management. METHODS: It analyzed the possible problems involved in "Trusteeship of Hospital Drugstore": such as it may lead to a "new monopolization of drug management", emergence of new "type medicine representatives", formation of "benefit league", physicians' prescribing "big prescription", thus failing to pose a threat to the "false high" price of drugs in the price chain but bringing about difficulty to hospital drug control and decreasing of drug quality etc. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: In view of the fact that current medical level and service income being unable to embody their actual value and the misalignment between supply and demand information of drugs,"Trusteeship of Hospital Drugstore" is still unable to free hospital from the trivial and complicated pharmaceutical affairs, nor can it surely bring down the "false high" drug price and reduce patients' medical expenses for the benefit people.

Clinical Medicine of China 2010;26(8):812-815
Objective To study the association of insulin resistance ( IR ) with aortic compliance impairment in patients with essential hypertension (EH). Methods Thirty-five patients with EH and 35 healthy control subjects were enrolled. The two groups were matched by sex, age and weight Blood pressure was measured and high resolution color Doppler examination was performed. Pressure-strain elastic modulus ( EP) and stiff index were calculated to reflect the change of aortic compliance in all subjects. Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) was assayed with oxidase technique, serum fasting insulin ( Fins) was assayed with chemoluminescent technique, Calculate insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) was calculated using FPG and FINS. Results In the EH group, Fins, HOMA-IR and EP of ascending aorta were ( 10. 15 ± 1.03) mU /L, 2. 21 ± 0. 68, (250. 79 ± 85. 52 ) kN/m2, respectively, and the stiff index( β) was 15. 60 ±7. 55. In the control group, Fins,HOMA-IR, EP and stiff index β were (6. 80 ± 3. 05) mU/L, 1. 48 ± 0. 16, (183. 90 ± 64. 65 ) kN/m2 and 10. 86 ± 4. 92, respectively. There were significant difference on these above mentioned indices between the two groups (P < 0. 05 ). In the EH group, HOMA-IR were positively correlated with the ascending aorta EP and stiff index β ( r = 0.558 and 0.601 respectively, P < 0. 05 ). Conclusions Aortic compliance impairment and IR are found in patients with EH. There is significant association of IR with aortic compliance impairment Hyperinsulinemia related to insulin resistance might be an important influential factor which promote large artery remodeling in patients with EH.
5.Experimental Study on the Estrogenic Activity of Dibutyl Phthalate
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(04):-
Objective To determine the estrogenic activity of dibutyl phthalate DBP. Methods The tested compound was dibutyl phthalate. Human estrogen-dependent MCF-7 breast cancer cells were cultured in RPMI 1640 medium containing 10% fetal bovine serum FBS. Five days before the addition of the tested compounds the cells were rinsed by phosphate balanced solution PBS and the medium was substituted with a phenol red-free RPMI 1640 medium containing 5% dextral charcoal-stripped FBS. The respective tested compound was added in fresh medium and the control cells received only the vehicle ethanol. The proliferation of MCF-7 cells was analyzed by the MTT assay growth curves mitotic index and coloning efficiency. Results Compared with the control the proliferation of tested cells treated with DBP like estradiol was markedly enhanced and the activity of the cell proliferation reached the maximum at 10-5 mol/L DBP. During log phase the mitotic index of the test cells treated with DBP and estradiol was significantly increased. The cell coloning efficiency was enhanced which was treated by 10-5 mol/L DBP only for 48 hours. The results showed the time-dependent and dose-dependent model. Conclusion Dibutyl phthalate may enhance the proliferation of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells in vitro that demonstrates an estrogenic activity of dibutyl phthalate.
