1.Research on ereythropoietin and its receptor in anemia of neoplasm
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2008;17(3):231-233
The anemia of chronic disease is chronic infection, inflammation, a class of cancer-related anemia syndrome, anemia in patients with malignant tumors often. In recent years recombinant human erythropoietin, widely used in clinical treatment of anemia, Especially in cancer-related anemia treatment achieved remarkable results, a blood transfusion to avoid the many adverse effects and improve the patient' s quality of life. A control chemotherapy-induced anemia is an important choice. Therefore, rhEPO on cancer-related anemia treatment mechanism has also become a research hotspot.
2. Hippocampus glioma with temporal lobe epilepsy as the main manifestation: The clinicopathologic properties
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;31(1):60-62
Objective: To study the clinicopathologic properties of hippocampus glioma with temporal lobe epilepsy(TLE) as the main manifestation. Methods: The clinical data of 6 patients with TLE and hippocampus masses were retrospectively analyzed. The 6 patients included 2 males and 4 females, with the longest history of epilepsy being 4 years. Results: All the 6 patients were surgically treated and were pathologically confirmed to have gliomas, including one angiocentric glioma( AG), one pilocytic astrocytoma (PA) with mucous degeneration, one astrocytoma, one oligoastrocytomao, one oligodendroglioma and one glioblastoma. Glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP) was strongly positive in all cases. Epilepsy disappeared after surgery in 5 cases; one patient had recurrence and received a second operation. Conclusion: Hippocampus gliomas with TLE as the main manifestation are usually low-grade gliomas of various types, and operation can obtain satisfactory prognosis.

A male patient, 67 years old, was admitted with the left auricle neoplasm over two months, increased rapidly for 10 days, on November 5, 2013. The tumer is about 2. 0 cm ×× 2. 0 cm size, smooth surface, no burst, hard, painless, and immobilization. After admission biopsy, the pathological report: "spindle cell sarcoma", thin a total resection of the left auricle under local anesthesia was made, postoperative pathological report: tumor by short of spindle cells, arranged in bunchiness, a small number of seats is arrangeA striate; The nuclei are hyperchromatic and part of the visible nucleoli and empty bright cytoplasm, pathological nuclear fission was visible. "Scar" on the matrix of collagen, hardening, and change the glass samples. The tumor destruction of cartilage. immunohistochemical stainin : Vimentin (+), CD99 (-), Bcl-2 (-), CD34 (-), SMA (-), Des (-), HMB45 (-), MelanA(-), S-100(-), CK(-). Diagnosis as fibrosarcoma. The patient refused any radiation or chemotherapy. Postoperative follow-up of 8 months, no local recurrence and distant metastasis.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2009;41(6):652-656
Objective:To observe clinical and pathological features of pancreatic solid-pseudopapillary tumor ( SPPT) , and to find some useful immunohistochemical methods for its differential diagnosis. Methods: The clinical features of 14 SPPT patients were obtained. Each case underwent microscopic observation and immunohistochemical staining. The primary antibodies were CgA, Syn, E-cadherin, β-catenin and Cyclin Dl. These results were compared with 5 pancreatic well-differentiated tumors and well-differentiated carcinomas ( WET/WEC). Results: SPPT mainly involved young women, and the head of pancreas was the commonest location. Tumors were always in solid and cystic gross appearance.Although the tumor' s borderlines seemed clear, focal infiltrations could often be identified. The histological features of SPPT were similar in some aspects to those of WET/WEC, especially the solid pattern of WET/WEC. Both of them could express CgA and Syn. But all SPPTs lost E-cadherin membranous signals, and even had some nuclear signals (5/14) , while all WET/WECs remained the same staining pattern with normal pancreas cells, β-catenin positive signals in SPPTs were located both in nuclei and plas mas. WET/WECs' positive signals were all in membranes and plasmas, but negative ones in nuclei. Perinuclear dot-like signals could also be seen in the majority cells, which were similar to normal islet cells' staining pattern. SPPTs' nuclear positive rates of Cyclin Dl were usually more than 70% (12/14). WET/WECs' rates were all lower than 30%. Conclusion: Comprehensive analysis of patients'clinical, pathological features and immunohistoehemistry results, including E-cadherin, β-catenin and Cyclin Dl, was helpful to the diagnosis of SPPT and its differential diagnosis of WET/WEC.
