1.Association between metabolic syndrome and prostate volume
Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2012;31(11):935-937
Objective To evaluate the relationship between parameters of MS and prostate volume. Methods A total of 843 men aged 30 to 49 years were enrolled from August 2008 to July 2011.Prostate volume by ultrasonography, serum prostate specific antigen, digital rectal examination, urinary analysis, and MS-related parameters were investigated. We evaluated the correlations of prostate volume with MS and MS components. Results Prostate volume was largerin the MS group (28.3±5.5 ml) than in the non-MS group (23.2±5.6 ml,P<0.05).The prostate volumes in subjects with abnormal levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG) (25.4±5.5 ml),body mass index (BMI) (25.4±5.3 ml) and waist circumference (30.2±4.8 ml) were increased compared with those of subjects with normal parameters (23.6±5.5 ml,22.6±5.5 and 23.5±5.3 ml,respectively, all P<0.05).The liner regression analysis showed that the FPG,BMI,WC,systolic pressure and triglyceride had a positive correlation with the prostate volume(r=0.216,0.397,0.411,0.170,0.184,respectively; all P<0.05),but negatively related to HDL-C(r=-0.107,P<0.05).Conclusions The patients with abnormal FPG,BMI and waist circumference have larger prostate volume.
2.Biomarkers of lung cancer micro-metastasis and their detection
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(1):39-42
Micrometastasis is small metastasis at the cellular and molecular level. Early detection of micrometasis through tumor markers can improve the accuracy of TNM staging, prognosis and subsequently treatment for lung cancer patients. Currently, a number of markers with good specificity and sensitivity have been found, including CK19 mRNA, Lunx mRNA, MUC1 mRNA and GPRP mRNA. These markers can be detected using methods such as RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry and western blot.
3.Advance on staging system of nasopharyngeal carcinoma
China Oncology 2006;0(09):-
The deficiencies of the 6th International Union Against Cancer (UICC)/American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) were included as follows: ①There is a lack of hazard discrimination between some T categories; ②The maximum dimension of lymph node was not an independentprognosis in NPC; ③The subsets defi ned by T and N classifi cations that make up a given group typically have different prognosis. The introduction of new types of therapeutic interventions or new technologies may require modifi cations of the classif ication and staging systems. Compared to computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is superior to in the detection of early involvement such as paranasopharyngeal space, oropharynx, and retropharyngeal lymphatic metastasis, and demonstrate deep primary tumor infi ltration such as skull base, intracranial erosion more easily, so MRI should be optional method in T stage of NPC. Positron emission tomography/ computerized tomography (PET/CT) is superior to MRI in the detection of cervical lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis. With the development of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques revolutionized in NPC, staging systems should be modified. Research based on the data of 924 NPC patients revealed:①It appeared more prognostic value to modify 4 substages into 3 substages in T-category; ②N-category was more concise by deleting nodal greatest dimension palpation;③ It showed that nodal parameters including level, laterality and extranodal neoplastic spread (ENS) are independent prognostic factors for NPC. N-staging criteria with RTOG guidelines for lymph node levels was set up which adapted to the requirement of conformal radiation therapy. Incorporating ENS and retropharyngeal lymph nodes into the N-staging system for NPC increases the predictive power.
4.Relationship between Body Mass Index and Serum Prostate-specific Antigen Levels in Prostate Cancer Patients
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2009;36(14):788-789,794
Objective:The aim of this study was to examine whether PSA levels were affected by BMI and the influence of BMI on the clinical application of PSA.Methods:A total of 856 males who had routine health checkups between January 2006 and July 2007 in our hospital were recruited for this study. Those with a documented history of prostate carcinoma were excluded.Height, weight, and total PSA were measured. The BMl was calculated from measured height and weight [BMl=weight(kg)/height(m)2].Results:The serum PSA(ng/mL)levels were 2.97±0.15 in the normal weight group,2.53±0.12 in the overweight group, and 2.01±0.16 in the obese group(P<0.05).A negative correlation was found between PSA and BMI(r=-0.130,P<0.05)and weight(r=-0.142.P<0.05).A positive correlation was found between PSA and age(r=0.306,P<0.05).Con-clusion:BMl is associated with PSA.As BMI increases, serum PSA decreases. The current data suggest that such an influence should be considered in the clinical application of PSA.
5.Progress in the correlation between thyroid stimulating hormone receptor gene and hyperthyroidism
Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2016;31(8):634-637
The cause of hyperthyroidism is still not clear.Thyroid stimulating hormone receptor(TSHR) gene is one of the hot topic genes in the etiology of hyperthyroidism. In this review paper, the progress of correlation between TSHR gene and hyperthyroidism was summarized. Results suggested that TSHR gene germline mutations could cause familial non-autoimmune autosomal dominant hyperthyroidism and persistent sporadic congenital non-autoimmune hyperthyroidism. In addition,TSHR gene mutation may also undermine the stability of the TSHR and then become the autoantigens to make producing TSHR antibodies.Which can stimulate thyroid follicular to secrete excessive thyroid hormone and then cause Graves' disease. However, the relationship between TSHR gene and the pathogenesis of Graves' disease still needs further study.

China Pharmacy 2016;27(5):627-631
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the characteristics of ADR induced by psychotropic drugs in children and adolescent of our center, and to provide reference for clinical drug use. METHODS:ADR induced by psychotropic drugs in children and adoles-cent reported by our center from 2005 to 2015 were investigated and analyzed retrospectively. RESULTS:A total of 177 ADR were collected,of which the most cases were induced by antipsychotic drugs as risperidonal, olanzapine and quetiepine. The most com-mon ADR were central and peripheral nervous system disorders(117 cases,37.86%),followed by endocrine disorder(35 cases, 11.32%),heart rate and rhythm disorders(32 cases,10.35%)and liver and biliary system disorders(17 cases,5.50%). By the relative titer of haloperidol, most of ADR were induced by haloperidol with dose of 4 mg,6 mg and 8 mg once a day(34,29 and 53 cases). Most of cases occurred within a week(94 cases,53.11%). CONCLUSIONS:To develop and strengthen clinical applica-tion and ADR monitoring of psychotropic drugs in children and adolescents should be regarded as the key to ensure drug use safety.
7.The levels of intraeythrocytic glutathion and its related factors in IGT and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(06):-
Objective:To evaluate the antioxidant status in IGT and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients, we detected the levels of serum Vitamin E(Vit E), vitamin C(Vit C) and intraerythrocytic glutathion(GSH).Methods:The levels of serum Vit E, Vit C and intraerythrocytic GSH were measured in 32 IGT and 41 newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients, and the associated factors with GSH/GSSG (oxidized glutathione) were evaluated. Results:Significant decrease of serum Vit C intraerythrocytic GSH and GSH/GSSG were noted in IGT and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients. There were negative correlation between GSH/GSSG and blood glucose, triglyceride, HbA_(1c) in IGT and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients. Conclusion:The results showed that antioxidant defenses are decreased in IGT and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients. To improve the metabolism of blood glucose and triglyceride may have some beneficial effects on antioxidant defenses in IGT and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes patients.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2009;21(4):246-248,266
Objective To investigate the effect of ulinastatin (UTI) on hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. Methods Totally 24 adult Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: sham-operated control group (SO group), ischemia-reperfusion group (I/R group) and ulinastatin group (UTI group). Liver in I/R group underwent 1 h of reperfasion after 30 min of ischemia. In UTI group, UTI (2×104 U/kg) was administered to rats 30 min before modeling. The levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in serum were measured and the levels of nitric oxide and malondialdehyde in liver were determined. The histological changes of liver were observed. Results The levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and TNF-α in serum were significantly increased in I/R group compared with those in UTI group (P<0.05). The levels of nitric oxide and malondialdehyde in liver were significantly higher in I/R group than in UTI group (P<0.05).Histological examination of liver indicated that the damages were more severe in I/R group than in UTI group. Conclusion UTI has the ability to inhibit the production of TNF-α and oxyradical, and ameliorate microcirculatory dysfunction in rats with hepatic ischemia-reperfasion injury.

Cell sheet engineering is an important technology to harvest the cultured cells in the form of confluent monolayers using a continuous culture method and a physical approach. Avoiding the use of enzymes, expended cells can be harvested together with endogenous extracellular matrix, cell-matrix contacts, and cell-cell contacts. With high efficiency of cell loading ability and without using exogenous scaffolds, cell sheet engineering has several advantages over traditional tissue engineering methods. In this article, we give an overview on cell sheet technology about its applications in the filed of tissue regeneration, including the construction of soft tissues (corneal, mucous membrane, myocardium, blood vessel, pancreas islet, liver, bladder and skin) and hard tissues (bone, cartilage and tooth root). This techonoly is promising to provide a novel strategy for the development of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. And further works should be carried out on the operability of this technology and its feasibility to construct thick tissues.
