1.Progress of the syndrome of malignant migrating partial seizures in infancy
International Journal of Pediatrics 2013;40(6):592-595
The syndrome of malignant migrating partial seizures in infancy (MMPSI) is one of the most severe epileptic encephalopathies of infancy onset. It has been firstly reported by Coppola in 1995.There have been approximately 80 cases reported worldwide by now,but there is no case reported in our country. The etiology for MMPSI is still unknown, the diagnosis is difficult, and conventional antiepileptic drugs have little efficacy. This paper reviews the possible causes, clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of MMPSI.
2.A simple and repeatable orthotopic model of the A549 cell line in nude mice
Chinese Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics 2006;11(10):1102-1105
AIM: To establish a simple and repeatable orthotopic animal model of the A549 cell line.METHODS: A549 cells in matrigel were inoculated into left lung or right flank of nude mouse. The growth pattern of A549 tumors and the chemotherapeutic efficacy of carboplatinum were studied. RESULTS: Tumors generated and dispersed widespreadly to contralateral lung. Tumors in lung were less susceptible to carboplatinum than those growing in flank. CONCLUSION: A simple and repeatable orthotopic animal model of the A549 cell line was presented, this allows researchers to evaluate novel compounds and new drugs for treatment of human lung cancer.KEY WORDS A549 cell line; orthotopic model; nude mice
3.Research progress of Ghrelin and obesity, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes mellitus
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2017;25(7):666-669
Ghrelin is a small active peptide secreted by gastric fundus cell. As an endogenous ligand of growth hormone receptor,it helps to promote growth hormone secretion, increase food intake and participate in energy metabolism. Recently, studies have indicated that Ghrelin, together with other peripheral signals, participate in the regulation of glucose and lipid metabolism. Insulin resistance (IR) is an important pathophysiological basis of the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM),while obesity is the common risk factor of both IR and T2DM. It has been confirmed that Ghrelin has a close and complex connection with obesity and T2DM. Further study about Ghrelin may open up a new way to the diagnosis and treatment of obesity and T2DM.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2014;34(3):279-283
OBJECTIVETo explore the distribution features of Chinese medical syndromes of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) by literature retrieval.
METHODSPertinent articles on treating RA by syndrome differentiation were retrieved from China National Knowledge Infrastructure Databases (CNKI), VIP Chinese Biomedical Journal Database, Guizhou Digital Library, and Duxiu Chinese Academic Periodicals full papers database from January 2000 to December 2011.
RESULTSA total of 33 documents were recruited covering 4 233 cases. Damp-heat blocking collaterals syndrome occupied the top in the occurrence frequency (20 times, 60.61%), followed by deficiency of Gan and Shen syndrome (18 times, 54.55%), intermingled phlegm and blood-stasis syndrome (17 times, 51.52%), wind-cold-damp impediment syndrome (15 times, 45.45%), cold-damp blocking collaterals syndrome (14 times, 42.42%), wind-damp-heat impediment and deficiency of qi and blood syndrome (10 times, 30.30%), and intermingled cold and heat syndrome (9 times, 27.27%). According to the case number of patients, it was sequenced as damp-heat blocking collaterals syndrome syndrome (768 cases, 18.14%), wind-damp-heat impediment syndrome(666 cases, 15.73%), wind-cold-damp impediment syndrome(584 cases, 13.80%), cold-damp blocking collaterals syndrome syndrome (517 cases, 12.21%), intermingled cold and heat syndrome (415 cases, 9.80%), intermingled phlegm and blood-stasis syndrome (364 cases, 8.60%), deficiency of Gan and Shen syndrome (235 cases, 5.55%),asthenia of healthy energy due to lingering arthralgia syndrome (223 cases, 5.27%). The case numbers of remaining syndromes did not exceed 5%.
CONCLUSIONDamp-heat blocking collaterals syndrome was the main syndrome in RA patients, followed by wind-cold-damp impediment syndrome,wind-damp-heat impediment syndrome,cold-damp blocking collaterals syndrome, intermingled phlegm and blood-stasis syndrome, and deficiency of Gan and Shen syndrome.

Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(8):608-611
Radiotherapy is one of the most important treatment method for esophageal cancer. Cene expression profile of cancer cells may be one of key factors in determining the effectiveness of radiation therapy To provide guidance for individual therapy, research advances in gene expression involved in radiosensitivity of esophageal cancer are discussed from three aspects: radiation damage repair, cell cycle distribution and signal traneduetion.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2013;27(21):1177-1183
OBJECTIVE:
To retrospectively analyze the long-term curative effects and prognostic factors of 137 cases of NPC patients treated with intensity modulated radiation therapy.
METHOD:
The three-dimensional conformal intensity modulated radiation therapy adopted for the design plan of 137 cases of newly diagnosed and no distant metastatic NPC patients. Evaluation of short-term clinical efficacy was made according to the efficacy evaluation criteria of WHO solid tumor one month after radiotherapy. During the 2 years after radiotherapy, re-examinations were made every 3 months. Two years later, re-examinations were made every 6 to 12 months, and the routine examinations included clinical body check, nasopharyngoscope, CT, B Chao, MRI, chest X-ray, bone scan, so as to understand the condition of cavum nasopharyngeum, cervical lymph nodes and cranial nerves. Life table method was adopted to calculate the overall survival rate, Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate relapse-free survival rate, distant metasis-free survival rate and disease-free survival rate. Log-rank test was used for univariate analysis of 14 clinical factors which may exert influences on prognosis. Multivariate analysis was performed with the Cox regression model, P < 0.05 is of statistical significance.
RESULT:
(1) Of the 137 cases, the overall survival rates of 1-year, 3-year and 5-year were 98.5%, 90.3%, 74.6% respectively, relapse-free survival rates were 97.0%, 81.9%, 66.7% respectively; distant metasis-free survival rates were 96.3%, 80.5%, 56.0% respectively; disease free survival rates were 95.6%, 76.9%, 43.8% respectively. (2) Univariate analysis revealed that the influences of T-staging,N-staging, 92 Fuzhou clinical staging, combined chemotherapy, skull base bone destruction, injury of cranial nerve, retropharyngeal lymph node metastasis, residual disease, total time of IMRT on prognosis were of no statistical significance(with all the P values lower than 0.05) The influences of gender, nationality, age, pathological type and anemia or on prognosis were of no statistical significance(with all the P values higher than 0.05). (3) T-staging, skull base bone destruction, injury of cranial nerve, retropharyngeal lymph node metastasis, N-staging, combined chemotherapy, residual disease, total time of IMRT, and anemia were drawn into Cox model, and the results showed that N-staging, combined chemotherapy, injury of cranial nerve, residual disease, and total time of IMRT were independent factors that affect prognosis (with all P values lower than 0.05).
CONCLUSION
IMRT obviously has advantages than conventional radiotheraphy in treating NPC patients. N-staging, injury of cranial nerve, combined chemotherapy, residual disease, and total time of IMRT are the main factors that affect prognosis.

Wei MA ; Kai WANG ; Yufeng CHENG
Journal of International Oncology 2013;40(12):915-918
The esophageal cancer mouse models have three categories:chemical carcinogenesis model, xenograft tumor model and genetic engineering model.Chemical carcinogenesis model can simulate well the pathological processes of human esophageal cancer and is prepared simply.Xenograft tumor model is currently the most commonly used esophageal cancer animal model, which has advantages of rapid tumor formation, higher tumor formation rate and lower cost.Genetic engineering model involves mainly p53,Cyclin D1,Brca1 and p120ctn,and it helps to understand the biological characteristics of tumors, but it is expensive and the preparation time is long.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2014;47(3):163-165
Three cases of medallion-like dermal dendrocyte hamartoma are reported. The patients included two men and one woman, and were aged from 2 to 38 years. All the patients presented with medallion-shaped,welldefined,slightly atrophic and asymptomatic congenital patches with prominently dilated superficial veins that had grown proportionately with the body length.Histological examination revealed similar changes in all of these patients, including epidermal atrophy and dermal proliferation of spindle cells, which stained positive for CD34,factor ⅩⅢa and vimentin, but negative for S100,CD68,CDla,CD31 and smooth muscle actin (SMA).None of the patients received special therapy, and the lesions enlarged slightly with body growth within 3-4 years of follow-up after the diagnosis.
