Esophageal carcinoma represents high incidence and mortality rate in China.Irinotecan (CPT-11) has shown promising activity in a number of gastrointestinal cancers,including esophageal cancer.This article reviews recent clinical trials of irinotecan-based chemotherapy and radiochemotherapy in esophageal carcinoma.

Chronic exposure to risk factors at the beginning stage of atherosclerosis development can damage endotheli?um and ultimately initiat endothelial dysfunction. Endothelial dysfunction is one of the major mechanisms in atherosclerosis development. High-density lipoprotein (HDL) is a lipoprotein with complicated function and is composed of a variety of pro?teins and lipids. Epidemiological studies showed an inverse correlation between HDL and atherosclerosis. The protective role of HDL on endothelium might related to its function in reversing cholesterol transport, reducing peripheral cholesterol accu?mulation, preventing foam cells formation, dilating vessels, antioxidant and anti-inflammation, all of which antagonize devel?opment of atherosclerosis. But HDL obtained from patients with cardiovascular disease which has known dysfunctional HDL may induce endothelial dysfunction. This review addresses the relationships between functional HDL or dysfunctional HDL with the endothelial function.

The discovery of microRNAs (miRNAs) has introduced a new paradigm into gene regulatory systems. Since inception, computational methods have been an invaluable tool complementing experimental approaches, and many discoveries have been obtained through combination of experimental and computational approaches. The knowledge that has been accumulated about the principles of miRNAs and target recognition were reviewed. The currently available computational methodologies and software for prediction of miRNA and their target genes also have been discussed.

Objective To compare the efficacy of amisulpride and other SGAs in treating the negative symptoms of Schizophrenia.Methods The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about Schizophrenia treated with amisulpride and other SGAs from Jan 1995 to Mar 2013 were searched in The Pubmed,EMbase,Cochrane Library,WanFang Data,CNKI and VIP.Two reviewers independently screened the literatures,extracted the data,and evaluated the methodological quality.Than meta-analyses were conducted by using RevMan 5.1 and Stata 12.0 software.Results The totall3 RCTs were included.Among the 1814 patients involved.The results of meta-analyses showed that the score of PANSS-N was no significant differences between two groups (MD =-0.33,95％ CI:(-0.87,0.21),Z =1.20,P =0.23) ; and the score of SANS was no significant differences between two groups (MD =-0.21,95％ CI:(-1.51,1.50),Z =0.31,P =0.76).The side effects were more in other SGAs group than those in amisulpride group.Conclusion Amisulpride is as effective as other SGAs for the treatment of schizophrenia with predominantly negative symptoms,and it has more advantage than other SGAs in safety.

OBJECTIVE To study and find reasonable methods of nursing care of incision through analyzing the risk factors in liver transplant patients.METHODS A total of 416 liver transplantation operations in our hospital from Sep 2004 to May 2006 were evaluated.The risk factors that resulted in the incision infection were considered.RESULTS The incision infection rate was decreased from 13.9% to 4.3% after improvement.CONCLUSIONS Nursing care is of great significance in preventing the incision infection in liver transplant patients.

Objective To discuss the perioperative nursing measures and their effectiveness for patients with malignant airway stenosis who are receiving airway stent implantation once more due to airway re-stenosis.Methods The clinical data of 7 patients,who received airway stent implantation once more due to airway re-stenosis during the period from May 2014 to July 2016,were retrospectively analyzed.The effectiveness of nursing intervention for stent implantation was assessed.Results The symptoms of dyspnea were relieved immediately after the stent re-placement procedure in all the 7 patients,and no severe complications,such as massive hemorrhage,respiratory failure or asphyxia occurred.Conclusion The key points to ensure a successful second airway stent implantation include following measures and preparations:cooperation mode of medical care integration,preoperative individualized psychological intervention,guiding the patients to cooperate with the treatment,ready for in-operation emergency rescue,rapid and effective assistant cooperation for stent placement,and postoperative close observation for the occurrence of respiratory tract infection,bleeding and other complications.

Objective:To study the bone-conductivity and absorbability of nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen(nHAC) composite implanted under the calvarial periosteum in rabbits.Methods:24 nHAC samples and 24 HA samples were prepaired in the shape of round disk with the diameter of 8 mm and thickness of 3 mm.nHAC samples were implanted under calvarial periosteum on the left side and HA samples on the right of 24 rabbits.The bone-conductivity and absorbability of the samples were examined by new bone height measuring and residual implant materia measuring 2,4,8 and 12 weeks after operation. Results:2,4,8 and 12 weeks after implantation new bone height(mm) in nHAC group was 0.54?0.09,0.72?0.12,1.83?0.14 and 2.63?0.07,that in HA group 0.13?0.11,0.31?0.12,1.23?0.05 and 1.75?0.14,respectively(P

To study the mechanism of liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) in rats with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and the therapeutic effects of the extract mixture of Dangyao (Swertia pseudochinensis Hara) and Shuifeiji (Silybum marianum Gaertn) on NAFLD rats with liver injury.

Objective To assess whether metformin prevents body weight gain in patients with schizophrenia who are treated with second-generation antipsychotics(SGA).Methods The randomized controlled trials (RCT) about metformin for prevention of weight gain with SGA for schizophrenia from January 1998 to July 2012 were selected in the Cochrane Library,Medline,Wanfang Data,CNKI and VIP.Two reviewers independently screened the literatures,extracted the data,and evaluated the methodological quality.Than meta-analyses were conducted by using RevMan 5.1 software and Stata 12.0 software.Results The total 7 RCTs were selected and 394 patients were involved.The results of meta-analyses showed that the efficacy of the metformin group was superior to that of the control group in lessen body mass (MD =-3.07,95％ CI:-4.17,-1.98,Z =5.50,P ＜ 0.01),BWI (MD =-1.21,95％ CI:-1.50,-0.92,Z=8.18,P＜0.01) with significant differences.Conclusion Metformin addition therapy is effective in attenuating SGA-induced weight gain.

Objective To study the whole genome DNA methylation changes induced by low dose radiation (LDR) in mouse,and mRNA expression profiles of DNMT1 and MBD2 in peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) and tissues.Methods Thirty male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 3 groups:control,single exposure (0.5 Gy),and fractionated exposure of 6 MV X-rays for 10 d (0.05 Gy/d × 10 d).Control mice were sham-treated.To determine the immediate (early) effect of irradiation,15 mice (5/group) were sacrificed 2 h after the last irradiation.The other 15 mice were sacrificed 1 month after the last irradiation (delayed effect).Before sacrifice,blood was sampled immediately.Kidney,liver,spleen,brain and lung tissues were collected.A global DNA methylation quantification Kit and highperformance liquid chromatography (HPLC) were used to investigate the methylation level in blood DNA.The expressions of DNMT1 and MBD2 were determined by RT-PCR.Results For the early effects of irradiation,as compared with controls,fractionated exposure to X-ray irradiation led to the significant depression of global DNA methylation level in blood (t =10.19 and 8.93,P ＜ 0.05).DNMT1 and MBD2 mRNA were down-regulated in PBMC,kidney and liver (t =5.06,3.01,3.97,12.25,3.50 and 3.73,P ＜0.05),and MBD2 was also down-regulated in spleen (t =3.03,P ＜ 0.05).However,no changes were observed in single exposed group.As for the delayed effects,the methylation levels of blood were not changed in the single or fractionated exposed groups,and only MBD2 mRNA was down-regulated in PBMC and brain of fractionated exposed group (t =3.52 and 2.85,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Fractionated LDR exposure can induce genome DNA hypomethylation,which is tissue-specific,and may be related with down-regulation of DNMT1 and MBD2.
