Objective: To estimate the biological characteristics of HA gradient coating in vivo.Method:We inserted coated and uncoated implants in bilateral femur of loading area in dogs.Result:Histological findings demonstrated that HA coated implants bind the host bone tightly and the amount and velocity of the new bone formation are more than the uncoated implants.The mean interface shear strength between HA gradient coated implants were greater than those of uncoated implants (p<0.01).Conclusion:The results of this study confirms that HA gradient coatings can has its practical value in orthopeadics fields.

Erectile dysfunction (ED), as a common male disease, seriously affects the patients' sexual life quality. Most ED patients benefit from phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, but some refractory ED sufferers fail to respond to them. With the rapid development of molecular biology, the relevant molecular signaling pathways of penile erection and molecular pathogenesis of ED have been gradually clarified, and attempts have been made at a better management or a complete cure of ED with advanced molecular biological methods such as the gene therapy. This article presents an overview on the research progress in the molecular signaling pathways, molecular pathogenesis, and gene therapy of ED.

ObjectiveTo observe if augmentation mammaplasty with m in iprostheses can induce the length of incision and incidence of the capsular cont racture and silicone leakage in order to optimize the mammaplasty for micromasti a. Methods The study proposed a new augmentation mammaplasty w ith miniprostheses, which were a series of 10 ml siliconegel prostheses(minipros theses). The surgery was similar to the conventional augmentation mammaplasty. T he every miniprosthesis was inserted one by one beneath the pectoral muscle unti l the desired volume was achieved and defined very objectively during the surger y. The incision used was never more than 3 cm, and located in any of the sites a lready described in the literature. ResultsThe authors had per formed 5 cases of small breast. Follow-up duration ranged from 3 months to 6 y ears. The results were satisfictary. ConclusionsThere are some advantages of augmentation mammaplasty with miniprostheses, such as smaller inc isions, intraoperative assessment of the ideal size of the breast, low incidence of capsular contracture, facility in the handling of the technique, safety conc erning perforation of the implant and use for augmentation mammaplasty, and tot al and especially partial breast reconstruction.

BACKGROUND: Cell labeling and nuclear magnetic resonance can non-invasively in vivo label the region, existing mode and some bionomics of transplanted neural stem cells (NSCs). OBJECTIVE: To observe the outcome of superparamagnetic iron oxide in vitro labeled human NSCs. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: The cytology, in vitro, observation study was performed at the Laboratory of Department of Pediatrics, Navy General Hospital of Chinese PLA from December 2006 to June 2007. MATERIALS: Aborted human embryo was provided by Navy General Hospital of Chinese PLA. Superparamagnetic iron oxide (Lot number 97060601) was produced by Advanced magnetics,inc., USA. METHODS: Monoplast suspension was isolated from human embryo hippocampus using the mechanical method, and in vitro incubated in NSC medium, supplemented with epidermal growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor. 11.2 g/L superparamagnetic iron oxide was diluted into 28 mg/L using NSC medium, mixed with 1.0 mg/L polylysine (8 ?L), and then made into superparamagnetic iron oxide-polylysine composite labeled medium. NSC spheres with active proliferation were obtained, made into single cell suspension (1?109/L), and then treated with serum-free medium containing superparamagnetic iron oxide. One week later, various cytokines were removed, and 5% fetal bovine serum was used for 24 hours to induce the NSC differentiation. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Prussian blue staining was utilized to determine marking positive rate. Immunofluorescence staining was applied to detect glial fibrillary acidic protein and neurofilament expression. RESULTS: Superparamagnetic iron oxide labeled NSCs were yellow, and the speed of clone formation was not stepped down compared with the non-labeled cells. 20 hours following superparamagnetic iron oxide labeling, blue iron particles in NSCs cytoplasm were found, with the positive rate of 90%. Following induction, superparamagnetic iron oxide labeled NSCs were positive for glial fibrillary acidic protein and neurofilament. CONCLUSION: Superparamagnetic iron oxide can highly effectively label NSCs in vitro, and not affect biological features following labeling. NSCs can normally amplify and orientedly differentiate into neurons and astrocytes.

To observe the changes of artrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and endothelin (ET) lev-els in patients with c0ngenital heart disease (CHD) and discuss their mechanism and clinical significance.Methods: The pulmonary pressure of the pulmonary hypertension (PH)group was higher than 2 kPa- Thepulmonary pressure of Non-PH group was n0rmal. Healthy children served as control group. Results: (1)Plasma ANP level of the PH group was apparently higher than that 0f the N0n-PH group and c0ntrolgroup. (2) Plasma ET levels in the peripheral vein, vena cava,right atrium, right ventricle, pulmonaryartery and left atrium of the PH group were particularly higher than that of the Non-PH group and c0ntr0lgroup, especially in the left atrium. C0nclusi0n: (l) CHD with PH induces the increase in cardiac v0lumeand pressure load, thus accelerates the release 0f ANP. It is actually a compensatory mechanism for the el-evation of endogenic ANP. (2) ET is a vasoconstrictor. ET owns the importance at PH pathogenesis andhas a certain clinical value in the diagn0sis 0f PH. (3) ET causes ANP releasing, then inhibits ET effectthrough negative feed. B0th of them are antag0nists each other.

Objective To investigate the effects of propofol on the spontanous rhythmical respiratory discharges (SRRDs) in the isolated medulla spinal cord preparation of newborn rats and its possible mechanism Methods Newborn SD rats (0 3 days) of either sex were used Isolated medulla spinal cord preparation was made according to the method of Suzue, et al Brain stem was severed between medulla and pons and spinal cord was severed between cervical and thoracic segments Efforts were made to keep the ventral root of the cervical spinal nerves of possible, while the medulla spinal cord preparation was being removed The medulla spinal cord preparation was placed with the ventral side facing up in the bath continuously perfused with modified Krebs solution (MKS)(3 4ml/min,T=27℃, pH=7 3 7 4, 95% O 2 5% CO 2) glass adsorb electrodes containing Ag AgCl needle were attached to the rentral root of C 4 or C 5 spinal nerve SRRD were recorded, Forty eitht isolated medulla spinal cord preparations were divided into 7 groups: groupⅠ: control group in which preparation was perfused with MKS only; groupⅡ Ⅳ: propofol groups in which preparation was perfused continuously for 3 min with different concentrations of propofol (5, 20, 50, 100, 250 ?mol/L); group Ⅶ: bicuculine propofol group in which preparation was continuously perfuse for 3min with a specific GABAA receptor blocker, bicuculine (20?mol/L) followed by perfusion of propofol(20?mol/L) for another 3 min SRRDs were recorded before and 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, and 30 min after propofol or bicuculine propofol perfusion Results 1) In control group, there was no significant change in SRRDs at the designated time internals 2) In group Ⅱ Ⅵ after propofol perfusion, the bursts of SRRDs were inhibited in a concentration dependent manner, but at 1 3 min SRRD showed a temporary excitation (frequency increased and expiratory time became shorter), at 5 min frequency began to slow down and expiratory time became prolonged, at 15 min in 7 out of preparations were stopped in group Ⅵ (propofol 250 ?mol/L) Inspiratory time did not change significantly after propofol in all propofol groups, but integral area of discharge (IAD) of SRRD showed some enlargement until SRRDs stopped 3) with bicuculine(20 ?mol/L) pretreatment, SRRDs did not change significantly after perfusion with propofol (20 ?mol/L) Conclusions Propofol inhibits SRRDs in a conecntration dependent manner as shown by prolongation of expiratory time GABAA receptor may play an important role in inhibitory action of propofol on the isolated medulla spinal cord preparation from newborn rats

Objective To know the point prevalence rate of social anxiety disorder(SAD) in Daqing University,and explore the influence factors about growth environment.Methods Data came from a large representative sample of 1878 university students,who were selected by stratified random cluster sampling methods according to the constituent ratio of students.They finished general situation questionnaire,interaction anxiety scale (IAS),adolescent self-rating life events check list(ASLEC),Egma Minnen av Bardndosnauppforstran(EMBU) respectively.According to the score of IAS,they were divided into 3 groups of high,mid and low.And then all of the high group,the 50％ and 10％ randomly of the mid and the low group respectively accepted the face-to-face interviews with 6 trained psychiatrists referred to SCID-I/P.Results Among 1878 Daqing university students,191 of them were diagnosed as SAD,with a point prevalence rate of 8.89％.The rate of rural students was higher than that in urban students(12.3％ vs.8.5％,x2 =7.966,P=0.017),and the rate of non-only child was higher than only child (12.0％ vs.9.1％,x2 =4.055,P=0.044).There were significant differences between SAD and No-SAD on many factors of ASLEC and EMBU.Logistic regression analysis showed that study stress in ASLEC(B=0.206),father's warm (B =-0.070),father's overprotection (B =0.286),mother's punishment (B =0.159),only child or not (B =-0.685) entered into regression equation.Conclusion The point prevalence rate of SAD in Daqing university students is 8.89％ and influenced by several growth environmental factors.Only child or not,father's warm,father's overprotection,mother's punishment,study stress in ASLEC can forecast SAD occurrence.

Objective:To explore the relationship between social anxiety and sex role in college students,and to analyze the mediating effect of self-acceptance between them.Methods:Data came from a sample of 2000 col-lege students in Daqing,who were selected by stratified random cluster sampling method according to the constitu-ent ratio of the college students.We used the Interaction Anxiety Scale (IAS)to assess subjective experience of so-cial anxiety,Bem Sex-Role Inventory (BSRI)to evaluate sex-role classification and Self-Acceptance Questionnaire (SAQ)to measure characteristics of self-acceptance.Results:In the college,the distribution of sex-role classifica-tion were androgynous 656 (34.9%),undifferentiated 650 (34.6%),masculine 287 (15.3%),feminine 284 (15.1%).The differences of gender in scores of IAS and SAQ were not significant (Ps >0.05),but there were significant differences among sex roles (P <0.001).IAS scores of feminine were significantly higher than the oth-ers,and the scores of androgyny and masculine were both lower than the other two significantly.SAQ scores offeminine and undifferentiated were both significantly lower than the other two respectively (Ps <0.05).By Boot-strap test,masculine,undifferentiated and feminine (vs.androgynous)could mediate IAS through self-acceptance, the mediating effects were 0.76 (95%CI:0.09 -1.42),4.14 (95%CI:3.43 -4.93),and 4.03 (95%CI:3.47 -4.64) respectively.There was a mediating effect.Both undifferentiated (vs.androgynous ) and feminine (vs.androgynous)directly influenced IAS significantly (Ps <0.05).Conclusion:Social anxiety may be related to sex role but not gender,social anxiety level of feminine students is higher,the sex-role types could influence social anxiety through self-concept indirectly.

Objective To explore the prognosis of elderly patients suffered from hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) by T cell subsets and clinical pulmonary infection score (CPIS).Methods A cohort of 125 elderly patients admitted in ICU & ED (Emergency Department) from Aug,2012 to Jul,2013 were enrolled for a prospective and observational study.The patients were divided into 3 groups:HAP survival group (n =50,group A),HAP death group (n =40,group B) and non-HAP group (n =35,control group).The criteria of exclusion were patients with auto-immune diseases,immunodeficiency,allergic disorders,malignancies,diabetes,trauma,surgical diseases,or patients with recent use of immunosuppressive agents or cyclooxygenase-inhibitors (Aspirin etc.).In the control group,patients with nosocomial pneumonia and other diseases afecting the CPIS were excluded.APACHE Ⅱ scores of all patients were recorded.Blood T cell subsets (including values of CD3,CD4 +,CD8 +,and CD4 +/CD8 +)were measured on the admission day,the 1st day of HAP onset and the 5th day after onset of HAP in HAP patients whereas these measurements were tested only on the admission day in controls.Meanwhile,the CPISs were recorded on the admission day,the 1st day of HAP onset and the 5th day after onset of HAP in HAP patients.Flow cytometer (FCM) was used to detect T cell subsets.Data of statistical analysis were represented as Mean ± SD.The significant differences in T cell subsets and CPIS between survival group and death group were analyzed by independent t test.The paired samples t test was employed in survival group and death group.Linear correlation analysis was made between CD4 +/CD8 + ratio and CPIS in survival and death groups,respectively.Results There were no significant differences in demographics and clinical features (including age,sex,length of stay,APACHE Ⅱ scores) of patients in survivors and non-survivors (P ＞ 0.05).The values of CDs (CD3,CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio) between patients of control group and patients of HAP groups were not significantly different on the admission day (P ＞ 0.05).The values of CDs on the admission day were much lower than those on the 1 st day of HAP onset in both survivors and nonsurvivors (P ＜ 0.05).The values of CDs on the 5th day after onset of HAP were higher than those on the 1 st day of HAP onset in the survival group (P ＜ 0.05),while there were no significant differences in CDs between different intervals after HAP onset in the death group (P ＞ 0.05).There were no significant changes in values of CD8 + in any group (P ＞ 0.05).Both survivors and non-survivors had much higher CPIS values on the 1st day of HAP onset than those on the admission day (P ＜0.01).The survival group had higher CPIS on the 5th day after onset of HAP compared to the 1st day of HAP onset (P ＜0.01),while there was no significant change in the death group.Linear correlation analysis showed negative correlation between CD4 +/CD8 + ratio and CPIS on both the 1 st day of HAP onset (survival group:R =-0.740,P =0.004 ; death group:R =-0.613,P =0.035) and the 5th day after onset of HAP (survival group:R =-0.639,P =0.009; death group:R=-0.686,P=0.021).Conclusions The hospital-acquired pneumonia appears as an immune imbalance disorder.The difference in CDs is a promising objective tool,aiding in prediction of prognosis of HAP in the elderly,the lower the CDs,the higher severity.The CD4 + / CD8 + ratio showed a negative correlation with CPIS.Monitoring of T cell subsets and CPIS may provide clinical value for the treatment of hospital-acquired pneumonia in the elderly.
