1.Role of Wnt signaling pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(06):-
Wnt proteins, its receptors and regulators compose complex signaling pathways which are closely related to embryonic development, cell proliferation and differentiation,as well as tumour generation. In recent years, the involvement of Wnt signaling pathways in hepatocarcinogenesis has drawn the attention of international medical circles and been studied intensively. In this review,we summaries the interaction between Wnt signaling pathways and its regulators, the relationship between Wnt signaling pathways and cancerogenesis, angiogenesis, invasion and metabasis in hepatocellular carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the nursing experience during posterior cruciate ligament(PCL)reconstruction using LRAS artificial ligament under arthroscopy.Method The experience in nursing 51 cases of PCL reconstruction using LARS artificial ligament under arthroscopy from 2009 to 2012 was retrospectively summarized. Results It showed that KDC score of the 39 cases was excellent and 12 cases good, with the excellent and good rate of 100.0%.The average operation duration was(70.0±6.0)min and the average blood lose(50±3.6)ml.Conclusion Sufficient preparation before operation, much familiarity with LARS artificial ligament, skilled and accurate surgical cooperation are important factors for the success of PCL reconstruction using LARS artificial ligament under arthroscopy.

·AIM: To report two patients with Helveston syndrome who received surgical treatment.·METHODS: During last year in department of oph-thalmology in West China Hospital, the surgery was designed to correct A-exotropia by lateral rectus' weaken and vertical offsets, and dissociated vertical deviation (DVD) by superior rectus muscles recession simultaneously.·RESULTS: A-exotropia and DVD of the patients vanished six months after the surgery. Both patients were clinically cured.·CONCLUSION: As the degree of horizontal and vertical strabismus was in the allowed range, complete examination and full assessment of the function of the four muscles were performed before operation, single operation can be considered in the treatment of Helveston syndrome.

Objective To explore the solution to the secure problem of EMR based upon No.1 Military Medical Project. Methods The existing EMR system provides medical records service and the EMR are stored and managed in ordinary or established file format in the database server.Based upon above database characters related to EMR and the requirement of EMR security, the MRBACKUP system was developed to resolve EMR backup, recovery and dump. Results The MRBACKUP system safeguarded the security of EMR in the lowest cost, the least system resources and the highest efficiency. Conclusion The new secure solution to EMR can better resolve the security problems in the widely-used EMR in hospitals.

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of 18F-FDG PET/CT in localization and etiologic diagnosis of suspected pacemaker-related infection(SPRI).Methods Fifteen SPRI patients (10males,5 females, age range:45-86 years) were included in this retrospectively study.18F-FDG uptake in device-related region and abnormal 18F-FDG uptake out of the device region were visually interpreted.Final diagnosis was decided according to modified Duke's criteria and imaging interpretation.Diagnostic efficiency of 18 F-FDG PET/CT on SPRI was evaluated. Results Of 7 patients with suspected pocket infection,5 patients had hot spot of 18F-FDG in the pocket site, either in superficial skin and/or deep soft tissue.Of 9 patients with suspected infective endocarditis,a diffuse FDG uptake was demonstrated in 3 patients in the area of left atrium, right atrium, and right ventricle;another 3 patients had abnormal FDG uptake in other sites rather than in the implantation regions, and the rest 3 showed negative PET/CT results. In patients with SPRI,18F-FDG PET/CT diagnosed 7 cases of pocket infection,8 cases of infective endocarditis,14 cases of pacemaker-related infection. Conclusions 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging is useful in localization and etiologic diagnosis in SPRI patients. It might guide the clinical SPRI management.

Objective To observe the expressions of Th1 cytokin [interleukin (IL)-12] and Th2 cytokin (IL-4) in gut of the mouse model of postinfcctious irritable bowel syndrome (PI-IBS). Methods Thirty mice were divided into control group (n=8) and model group (n=22,infected with Trichinella spiralis). The weight of the mouse was measured weekly after infection. Visceral sensitivity of colorectal distention in mouse was accessed by abdominal withdrawal reflex (AWR) at 0 and 8 weeks after infection. All mice were sacrificed at the 8th week, and tissues of jejunum, terminal ileum, proximal colon and distal colon were observed for inflammation with HE staining. The mRNA and protein expressions of IL-12 and IL-4 were examined by RT-PCR and Western blotting, respectively. Results Two weeks after infection, body weight was decreased in model group compared with control group ( -1.08%±1.08 % vs 3.09%±1.85%, P<0.05), but there was no significant difference at the 8th week between two groups (P>0.05). Severe inflammation was observed in the gut of mouse 2 weeks after infection, however it was recovered at the 8th week. The score of AWR was higher in model group at 30,45 and 60 mmHg in comparison with control group (P<0.05), whereas the perceptual threshold was lower in model group than in the control group (P<0.05). In comparison with control group, increased expressions of IL-12 mRNA and protein in ileocecum and proximal colon as well as decreased expressions of IL-4 mRNA and protein in all parts of gut were found in model group (P<0.05). Conclusion Th1/Th2 shift may involve in gut of PI-IBS mouse, which provides a new idea for treatment of PI-IBS.
