Objective:To compare the steam distillation( SD) and supercritical CO2 ( SFE-CO2 ) method in the extraction of vola-tile constituents from such 3 traditional Chinese drugs as cnidium monnieri, radix sileris and atractylodes lancea in compound Kuhuang prescription. Methods:Essential oil was extracted from the 3 traditional Chinese drugs by SD and SFE-CO2 method, respectively. The components were identified by GC-MS, and their relative contents were calculated with peak area normalization method. Results:To-tally 36 components were isolated and identified using SD extraction and 31 components were identified using SFE-CO2 extraction, a-mong them, 22 components were the same and their relative molecular weight mainly concentrated within 200-230. Conclusion: SFE-CO2 method can extract effective components from the 3 traditional Chinese drugs in compound Kuhuang prescription with higher selec-tivity, which is the more suitable extraction method for essential oil from the prescription.

Objective:To discuss the relationship between the serum level of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and the presence of an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD). Methods:The experimentalgroup was subdivided into the bleeding and the non-bleeding groups which consisted of 64 womenwith IUCD. There were 60 healthy women in the control group. The serum levels of IL-6 and C-reactive protein (CRP) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in bothgroups. Results :In the experimental group,the serum levels of IL-6 in 3 cases were increased,andthere was a significant difference in comparison with those of the control group (P＜0. 01),butthere were no statistical differences between the bleeding group and the non-bleeding group withIUCD (P＞0． 05). Serum CRP was negative both in the experimental groups and in the controlgroup. Conclusion:The non-bacterial endometrial inflammation induced by IUCD causes the in-crease of serum level of IL-6 in some women. It is suggested that IL-6 may play an important rolein the contraceptive mechanism of IUCD.

Objective To explore the impact on survivors's health and to determine the risk factors involved in the typhoon in order to investigate the characteristics of traumatic symptoms of casualties in the aftermath of the Saomai Typhoon sweeping over the rural area of Zhejiang province in 2006. Method A cluster sampling study was carried out and a total of 389 survivors were assessed. Data were analyzed by univariate and multivariate Logistic analysis to clarify the characteristics and the risk factors of getting traumatize. Results Of 389, there were 113 (29.1% ) victims suffered from a variety of injuries mainly crush trauma (24.4 % ) and wounded by hard object (23.1% ). Moreover, the combined injuries accounted for 9.2%. The risk factors causing injuries in the residential area were the building collapse, glass fragments from broken windows, flying debris as well as fall from high place. Condclusions Outdoor activity and the crumbled building are the leading causes for injuries during the sweeping of typhoon. Meanwhile, we should make more effort to publicize the precautions against typhoon to the local residents.

Objective To investigate the impact of detrusor hyperactivity with impaired contractile function(DHIC)on voiding function in benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods68 patients with BPH accepted the test of urodynamics.The urodynamic parameters between DHIC group and no DHIC group were compared statistically.ResultsThe residual urine in DHIC group was larger and the detrusor pressure at Qmax,the bladder volume were smaller than that in no DHIC group(P<0.01).ConclusionDHIC worsens the voiding function of the patients with BPH,and the test of urodynamic is helpful to diagnose and to treat it.

Objective To apply the urethral pressure profile(UPP)in patients with benign prostates hypertrophy(BPH).Methods 71 patients with BPH accepted the test of UPP.The UPP parameters were compared statistically with the ultrasonography finding.Results The maximum urethral pressure,maximum urethral closure pressure and prostatic urethral length in BPH were higher than normal(P<0.01).Conclusion The test of urethral pressure profile(UPP)is helpful for identifying the site of obstruction and degrees in BPH patients,although there are some limits.

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of arterial embolectomy with Solitaire AB stent in treatment of acute intracranial large artery occlusion.Methods The clinical data of 11 patients with acute intracranial large artery occlusion receiving arterial embolectomy with Solitaire AB stent from March to December 2013 were analyzed retrospectively.Among them,5 cases were with simple middle cerebral artery occlusion,1 case combined with occlusion in the intracranial part of the internal carotid artery,4 cases had simple basilar artery occlusion,and 1 case had occlusion in the intracranial portion of the vertebral arteries extending to intracranial portion of the basilar artery.Revascularization and postoperative hemorrhage were analyzed,and nosocomial as well as clinical outcomes after 3 months were evaluated.Results Ten patients showed successful revascularization,of which 8 cases reached the standard of perfect revascularization.After embolectomy,there was obvious stenosis in offending vessel of 4 cases,who were given balloon dilatation then.In 3 cases,the vessels were still narrow,so Solitaire AB stent was placed in the stenosis area to correct stenosis with the residual stenosis rate of less than 40％.Thus electrolytic interruption was given.There was no symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage.Three months after the operation,5 cases recovered,among whom 2 cases had obvious curative effect instantly,1 case had complete remissions in 1 week,and 1 case remained hemiplegia.Five cases died,and 4 cases discharged from the hospital because their family gave up the subsequent treatment.Conclusions Arterial embolectomy with Solitaire AB stent to treat patients with acute intracranial large artery occlusion has a relatively higher revascularization rate.The clinical outcome after 3 months can be significantly improved.Thus,it provides a safe and effective endovascular treatment for patients with acute intracranial large artery occlusion.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of the level of plasma D-dimer, lipoproteins and carcino-embry-onic antigen(CEA) in gastrointestinal cancer.Methods The plasma D-dimer ,lipoproteins,CEA and clinicopathological data of 139 gastrointestinal cancer patients and 155 normal controls were collected and analyzed .Lipoproteins included high-density lipoprotein(HDL),low-density lipoprotein(LDL) and lipoprotein a[LP(a)].SPSS 13.0 statistical software was used to analyze the sensitivity and specificity of each examination method and to find the appropriate combination .Results The plasma D-dimer,LDL,LP( a) and CEA levels were distinctly higher in patients than those in normal controls ( P<0.001).HDL levels were significantly lower in patients than those in normal controls (P<0.001).The cutoff of D-dimer was 0.495 μg/ml , the sensitivity of D-dimer was 62.6%,and the specificity was 86.5%.The cutoff of HDL was 1.025 mmol/L, the sensitivity was 72.7%,and the specificity was 85.2%.The cutoff of LDL was 3.375 mmol/L, the sensitivity was 54%,and the specificity was 82.6%.The cutoff of LP(a) was 27.3 mg/dl, the sensitivity was 58.3%,and the speci-ficity was 87.1%.The cutoff of CEA was 2.14 ng/ml, the sensitivity was 59.7%,and the specificity was 76.8%.The sensitivity and specificity of HDL +CEA were 77.7%and 88.4%, respectively.The sensitivity and specificity of HDL +D-dimer were 70.5% and 96.1%, respectively.The sensitivity of HDL +LP(a) was 76.3%,and the specificity was 93.5%.The sensitivity of D-dimer +HDL+LP(a) was 84.2%,and the specificity was 92.3%.The sensitivity of D-dimer +HDL+CEA was 87.1%, and the specificity was 85.8%.The sensitivity and specificity of HDL +LP(a) +CEA were 85.6%and 92.3%, respectively.The sensitivity of D-dimer +HDL+CEA +LP(a) was 89.9%while the specificity was 92.3%.Conclusions Plasma D-dimer and lipoproteins can serve as tumor markers in gastrointestinal cancer .Combined detection has higher sensitivity and specificity .

Objective To explore the effect of 3M Tegaderm transparent film on prevention of puncture complications in patients underwent aortocranial angiography via the femoral artery.Methods A retrospective analysis was carried out on 200 patients underwent aortocranial angiography via the femoral artery from February 2012 to February 2014.Eighty patients without using the transparent dressing paste were as the control group,and other 120 patients using 3M Tegaderm transparent film for fixation of arterial sheath were as the observation group.The occurrences of complications,such as arterial sheath breakage,angiographic tube breakage,femoral artery spasm,bruises at the puncture site and subcutaneous hematoma were analyzed,and the feasibility and effectiveness of 3M Tegaderm transparent film for fixation of arterial sheath were assessed.Results The incidence rate of arterial sheath breakage,angiographic tube breakage,femoral artery spasm,bruises at the puncture site and subcutaneous hematoma were significantly reduced in observation group compared with those in control group [5.8％ (7/120) vs.26.2％ (21/80)] (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Application of 3M Tegaderm transparent film with a low price and good security for fixation of femoral artery sheath can effectively reduce the occurrence of complications related to femoral artery puncture,which is worthy of wide spreading.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the radiological findings of labyrinthitis and evaluate the diagnosis value of HRCT and MRI. METHODS The HRCT and MR images of 27 cases ( 31 ears) with labyrinthitis,suggested by clinical examinations and abnormal changes on images coexisting,were studied. RESULTS In the 22 ears which underwent HRCT examinations,6 ears showed increase of the density of one or more structures of inner ear,8 ears showed increase of the density of structure as well as change of the shape of the inner ear,1 ear showed change of the shape only. Labyrinth inner cavity appeared local or total sclerosis and disappearance in 7 ears. Among the 22 ears,there was bony incompleteness in 4 besides the changes mentioned above. In the 9 ears which accepted HRCT and MR scanning,7 ears showed abnormal changes of different degree in the inner ear on HRCT images and the other 2 appeared normal. On MR images,all 9 ears showed decrease or disappearance of the signal of T2WI in one or more structures of membranous labyrinth. Among the 6 ears which performed contrast scanning,markedly enhancement was seen in 4 and no enhancement in 2 ears. Of all the 31 ears,cochlea was involved in 30,of which only basal turn involved in 5,upper and second turns in 2 and all turns in 23,semicircular canal involved in 26,vestibule in 20,oval window in 18 and round window in 19. CONCLUSION HRCT can demonstrate the abnormal changes of bony labyrinth,and MRI is helpful to detect the changes of labyrinth inner cavity. They have important value in the detection and diagnosis of labyrinthitis.

ObjectiveTo observe the effects of intravesical electric stimulation (IVES) on bladder sensation of neurogenic bladder.Methods28 patients with neurogenic bladder was evaluated, which all underwent intravesical bladder stimulation. Their bladder sensation were analyzed before and after the treatment.Results57.1% of the patients increased bladder sensation after treatment, 32.1% appeared the first sensation and urge sensation after treatment, 42.9% remained stable.ConclusionIntravesical bladder stimulation is effective to improve bladder sensation in a majority of the patients with neurogenic bladder.
