Objective To investigate the role and prognostic impact of E-cadherin( E-cad)on in-vasion and metastasis of gastric carcinoma by analyzing E-cadherin expression at DNA,RNA and protein levels. Methods RNA and protein expression of E-cad were tested in 60 cases of gastric carcinoma and adjacent tissues by streptavidin peroxidase( SP )immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. DNA methylation of E-cad was tested with methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction( MSP). Results The positive rates of E-cadherin protein and mRNA in gastric carcinoma were significantly lower than those in adjacent tissues. DNA methylation of E-cad negatively correlated with the E-cad protein and RNA expres-sion in gastric carcinoma respectively(r= -0. 355,r = -0. 271). DNA methylation of E-cad negatively correlated with the 5-year survival rate of gastric carcinoma(r = -0. 381,P ﹤0. 01). However,E-cad protein positively correlated with the 5-year survival rate of gastric carcinoma(r=0. 378,P﹤0. 01). Con-clusion The decreased expression of E-cad is one of the most important biological features in gastric car-cinoma. Methylation of E-cad DNA may be an important agent causing low expression of E-cad protein and mRNA and it can be used as an important indicator in predicting invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer.

Objective To explore the clinical diagnostic value of high frequency ultrasound on finger parenchyma tumor. Methods Twenty-two patients with finger parenchyma tumor were analyzed retrospectively by clinical and ultrasonographic characteristics including location, size, shape, echo, and color flow signals of tumors. Those findings were compared with pathological data after surgery. Results Out of 22 parenchyma tumor patients, tendosynovial giant cell tumor were present in 7 patients, fibrous tumor in 3 patients,glomus tumor in 5 patients, and ganglia in 7 patients. Differences between ultrasonographic appearances and pathologic features were found in parenchyma tumor. The tendosynovial giant cell tumors were demonstrated plentiful color flow signals and heterogeneous echoic mass without capsules. There was not found color flow signal but an intact membrane in tendosynovial fibrous tumors. Glomus tumors were hypoechoic with an intact membrane, abundant color Doppler signals, and Ⅲ level was classified by Alder. Ganglia were expressed in cystic structure. Conclusions Characteristic features of ultrasonographic appearance were found in different kind of parenchyma tumors. High frequency ultrasound is an effective method to diagnosis finger parenchyma tumor.

Objective To evaluate the left ventricular function and the synchrony of myocardial ischemic segments in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) after PTCA and stent implantation by quantitative tissue velocity imaging (QTVI). Methods Thirty-six patients with isolated left anterior descending stenosis (≥75%) were examined by QTVI three days before, one week and one month after successful PTCA and stent implantation to measure the following items of 5 different left ventricular segments: peak systolic velocity( Vs), early diastolic velocity (Ve), late diastolic velocity (Va), time to peak systolic velocity(Ts). Then the coefficient of variation (SD/mean) of the 5 different Ts were calculated.Results The value of Vs,Ve and Va were decreased and the Ve/Va ratio was reverses three days before PTCA + stent. Compared with that before PTCA + stent,the value of Vs and Ve were increased significantly in one week ( P ＜0. 05) and one month( P ＜0.01 ) after PTCA + stent,respectively,the value of Va was not statistically significant. Ve/Va ratio was recovered in one week after PTCA treatment. Ts and Ts-SD were shorted dramatically in one week( P ＜0. 05) and one month( P ＜0.01 ) after PTCA + stent compared with that before PTCA + stent in which Ts were prolonged more than 33 ms. Conclusions QTVI can quantitatively assess the left ventricular function and the synchrony of myocardial ischemic segments, and can be used to real-time detect the changes of function and synchrony of left ventricle after PTCA and stent implantation.

Pang Zanxiang was a famous ophthalmologist of Chinese medicine. Based on his family experience and combined with his clinical practice, he has written the book Clinical practice of ophthalmology in traditional Chinese medicine. In the book, the theory of stagnation of Qi and blood leading to disease was put forward, and radix stellariae was used most frequently in treating eye disease. From literature interview, we found that pang’s experience of radix stellariae in treating eye disease was its function of replenishing vital essence to improve eyesight.

Objective To explore the relationship between interleukin(IL)-13 RS20541 gene polymorphism and susceptibility of enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection in children's hand-foot-mouth disease.Methods Blood samples were collected from 123 children with EV71 infection from the Central Hospital of Xiangtan (experimental group),and they were divided into mild EV71 infection group (n =62) and severe EV71 infection group (n =61) according to their severity.And 52 healthy children without EV71 infection were selected as the controls,with age and sex matched.Two mL blood samples stored in the-80 ℃ freezer,were collected from all subjects,and DNA was extracted by Beijing ubiolab genetic technology company limited.The SNaPshot was used to determine genotype for G/A polymorphism at RS20541 position of IL-13 gene.SPSS 18.0 software was used to analyze the data.Results IL-13 RS20541 loci had 3 genotypes:AA,GA,GG;the frequency of AA,GA,GG in the experimental group was 4.07％,44.71％,51.22％,which was significantly lower than that in the healthy control group (the frequency of AA,GA,GG were 11.54％,32.69％,55.77％),there was no statistically significant difference in genotypes (x2 =4.676,P ＞ 0.05);there was no statistically significant difference in allele frequency (the frequency of A,G in experimental group was 26.42 ％,73.58 ％,and that of the healthy control group was 27.88 ％,72.12 ％;x2 =0.080,P ＞ 0.05).EV71 infection caused by mild group,severe group and healthy controls genotype frequencies between the 3 groups [(AA + GA) were 53.22％,44.26％,44.23％;GG were 46.78％,55.74％,55.77％;x2 =1.294,P ＞ 0.05] and allele frequency (A were 30.65％,22.13％,27.88％;G were 69.35％,77.87％,72.12％;x2 =2.349,P ＞ 0.05) among the mild group,severe group and healthy control group had no statistical significance.Conclusion There is no correlation between the IL-13RS20541 gene polymorphism and EV 71 infection in children with the hand-foot-mouth disease.

Objective To explore the relationship between the interleukin-6 (IL-6) RS1800796 gene polymorphism and susceptibility of Enterovirus 71 (EV71) infection.Methods One hundred and twenty-three children with EV71 infection were selected as infection experimental group from March 2012 to December 2014 in the Central Hospital of Xiangtan,and they were divided into mild EV71 infection group (62 cases) and severe EV71 infection group (61 cases).And 52 age-and gender-matched healthy children were selected as the healthy control group.Two mL blood samples were collected from all subjects,and DNA was extracted by Beijing Optimal Boland Gene Technology LTD.The SNaPshot was used to determine the genotype for G/C polymorphism at RS1800796 position of IL-6 gene.Results The genotype frequency of IL-6 RS1800796 GG in the infection experimental group [73.2％ (90/123 cases)]was significantly higher than that in the healthy control group[48.1％ (25/52 cases)],and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =10o 215,P =0.002,OR =2.945,95 ％ CI:1.500-5.782).No significant difference was found in the distribution of genotype frequency of the IL-6 RS1800796 GG between the mild EV71 infection group and the severe EV71 infection group[71.0％ (44/62 cases)vs.75.4％ (46/61 cases),x2 =0.309,P =0.685].The G allele in IL-6 RS1800796 G/C was more frequent in the infection group (85.0％)than that in the control group (70.2％),and the difference was statistically significant (x2 =10.183,P =0.002,OR =2.399,95％ CI:1.389-4.143).No significant difference was found in allele frequency of the IL-6 RS1800796 G between the mild EV71 infection group and the severe EV71 infection group (83.1％ vs.86.9％,x2 =0.703,P =0.477).Conclusion The G allele of IL-6 RS1800796 confers susceptibility to infection of EV71.But G allele carrier will not increase the risk of severity after infection.

Objective To study the changes of plasma cystatin C level (PcyC),and evaluate the effects of the joint use of atorvastatin and probucol on PcyC and severity of coronary lesion in patients with borderline lesion of coronary artery.Methods One hundred and thirty consecutive patients with borderline coronary lesion assessed by quantitative coronary angiography were enrolled into borderline coronary lesion group (BCL),and another 136 subjects without coronary lesion were enrolled as controls (CTR).And in the meantime,the subjects in BCL group were randomized (closed envelope method) into routine treatment subgroup ( RTT,n =60),and combined treatment subgroup in which patients were treated with atorvastatin 20 mg plus probucol 1.0 g daily in addition to routine medication ( CBT,n =70) for 6 months.There were no statistical differences in basic clinical features between two subgroups.PcyC,high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP),total cholesterol (TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ( HDL-C ) and triglycerides (TG) were determined.Of them,104 patients in BCL group rechecked by coronary angiography.Comparison of biomarkers carried out between two groups by using a number of independent-sample t-test and analysis of variance.For enumeration data,chi-square test was used to compare mean values of biomarkers between groups. P ＜ 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results PcyC levels were significantly higher in BCL group than those in CTR group ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Compared with RTT subgroup,levels of PcyC,TC,LDL-C,TG and hs-CRP were more significantly decreased in CBT subgroup (P ＜ 0.05,P ＜ 0.01 ).Moreover,there was a trend of slight decrease in the mean percent of stenosis (MPS) of coronary artery with borderline lesion in RTT subgroup treated for 6 months,whereas more marked decrease in the MPS of coronary artery with borderline coronary lesion in CBT subgroup treated for 6 months ( P ＞ 0.05 ; P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusions Cystatin C plays an important role in the pathogenesis of coronary artery,and PcyC is associated with severity of coronary lesion,the combination of atorvastatin and probucol decreases the PcyC level,and it may be the treatment of choice for borderline lesion of coronary artery.

Ceramide is a kind of sphingolipid with complex function, which is involved in cell growth, differentiation, stress response, inflammatory signal transduction and apoptosis as a second messenger. In recent years, many studies have shown that it is closely related to the occurrence and risk prediction of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, hypertension and so on. In this paper, the related research progress is summarized.

Asprosin is a newly discovered fasting-induced glucogenic adipokine, which is involved in regulating appetite, glucose and fat metabolism and oxidative stress. Recently, it has been found that asprosin is related to metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, nonalcoholic fatty liver, polycystic ovary syndrome, and cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease and dilated cardiomyopathy, and plays an active role in heart protection. In this paper, the related research progress is summarized.

Bruton's tyrosine kinase(BTK)inhibitors are novel drugs targeted for the treatment of B-cell lymphoma.BTK inhibitors have pro-duced strong curative effects,especially for mantle cell lymphoma(MCL),chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma(CLL/SSL),and Waldenstr?m's macroglobulinemia(WM).However,the adverse effect of bleeding has gradually been noted with the wide-spread use of BTK inhibitors in clinical practice.Bleeding events are caused by the off-target effects of BTK inhibitors,which affect platelet function through multiple signaling pathways during use.Bleeding affects patient treatment and threatens their quality of life.As such,the clinical management of bleeding should be strengthened.This paper provides a review of the mechanisms of action and clinical manage-ment of bleeding caused by BTK inhibitors.
