1.Primarily using fine needle aspiration for diagnosis of liver tumor at the Huu Nghi Hospital
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):23-25
Fine needle aspiration under the ultrasound has been applied for the first time at the H÷u NghÞ Hospital on 25 patients with liver tumors. The results showed that number of patients with liver carcinoma, abscess and cysts were 18, 2, and 1, respectively; 4 patients were unable to be diagnosed because the samples could not be collected. Only 6 patients felt mild pain during aspiration. No complication happened

2.The role of serum alpha feto-protein in the diagnosis and management of hepatocellular carcinoma
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;458(8):42-45
Review and update some knowledge of alpha feto-protein (AFP) value in the diagnosis, prognosis and management of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and the role of AFP in monitoring of response to medical and surgical treatments. Serum AFP tests give sensitivity of 50% and specificity >90% at cut-off value of 500 ng/ml in the diagnosis of HCC in patients who had underlined hepatic diseases

3.To evaluate the results of treatment of liver cell carcinoma by method of chemical plug of liver artery on 134 patients at Bach Mai Hospital
Journal of Medical Research 2004;27(1):99-104
The study was performed on 134 patients of primary liver cell cancer, treated through 294 episodes of chemical plug using lipiodol through the arteries, in order to evaluate the efficacy of treatment by the method of chemical plug of liver artery and to give some imaging diagnostic factors related to the effect of treatment. Results showed that all cases were intervented favorably, without death by the technique. In majority of cases, chemical improvements were notified (weight gain, pain relief in the liver...) > 6 months survival reported in 82.35%, > 12 months survival 48.24%, mean survival duration 16 months. In comparison with palliative treatment, the method of liver artery chemical plug gave higher efficacy

4.Imaging Evaluation Following ⁹⁰Y Radioembolization of Liver Tumors: What Radiologists Should Know.

Korean Journal of Radiology 2018;19(2):209-222
Radioembolization using beta-emitting yttrium-90 microspheres is being increasingly used for the treatment of primary and metastatic liver cancers. It is a form of intra-arterial brachytherapy which delivers intense radiation to liver tumors with little embolic effect; this mode of action results in unique post-treatment imaging findings. It is important to understand these imaging findings to avoid misinterpretation of tumor response and to determine further management of the disease. Herein, we discuss the current concepts for assessing tumor response, common post-treatment imaging features, and associated complications following radioembolization.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1998;39(4):773-777
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is the second most common primary malignant hepatic neoplasm. We describe twocases of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma which initially presented as liver abscess both clinically andradiologically. Mucin-hypersecretion from the tumor cells and extensive necrosis or secondary bacterial infectionwas responsible for the radiologic appearance of a liver abscess.

7.Ultrasonic image and value for primary malignant hepatic tumor
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):40-42
A study on 91 patients with hepatic tumors by ultrasound and operation has shown that the ultrasound was a method that can be widely used in the diagnosis of hepatic tumor, generally, and primary malignant hepatic tumor. The sound increase or equal as well as the sound homogenous or inhomogeneous were not a specificity of diagnosis of disease. The study concluded that the ultrasound had a high value in the determined diagnosis of the primary malignant hepatic tumor as well as evaluation of lesion of cirrhosis that usually accompanying with the primary malignant hepatic tumor.

8.Hepatic lesion with images liked the liver tumor
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 1998;230(11):5-8
A study on 348 cases of hepatic lesion during 1997-1999 found that there were 10 patients with localized hepatic inflammatory with images liked a liver tumor. This paper introduced a case of hepatic inflammatory and tuberculosis and a case of hepatic pseudotumor. The pathology of these diseases should be taken care and combination in the diagnosis (a case of pseudotumor required the cytological tests). It should be awareness with the imaging diagnosis

9.Hepatitis B virus and primary liver cancer
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):58-60
Incidence of primitive liver cancer has the regularly increased in Asia as well as in Vietnam. Hepatitis B virus is proved as the most important causative factor by many epidemiological and molecular studies. In the pathogenesis, HBV acts via two mechanisms. The hepatitis B vaccination efforts, for all the new born babies and as well as for all the people HbsAg negative, is very necessary and urgent to reduce the incidence of PCL in the next decades

Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):25-27
Beside of causative agents of hepatitis B virus, recent studies start discovering the causative agent of hepatitis C virus for etiology of primary liver cancer. This virus plays a very dangerously because of its potential clinical conditions as well as having no effective vaccine for active prevention. The Hepatitis C virus impacts by both indirect and direct mechanism. A synergic impact of Hepatitis C virus and alcoholism as well as Hepatitis B virus has been proved
