3.Serum p2PSA derivative indexes in prostate cancer: an update.
National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(1):74-77
Serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is composed of the PSA precursor protein (proPSA) in the absence of the leader peptide induced by human kallikrein 2 (hK2). There are many forms of PSA in the blood, including free PSA and bound PSA. Serum proPSA, as a free PSA, has many isoforms, among which, [-2]proPSA (p2PSA) cannot be activated by hK2 and therefore exists stably in the blood. Serum p2PSA is a homologous isomer of PSA. Serum prostate health index and % p2PSA, as the derivative indexes of p2PSA and molecular markers associated with the development and progression of prostate cancer, can reduce serum PSA test-induced excessive diagnosis and treatment of the malignancy and improve the accuracy of its prediction. This review summarizes recent progress in the studies of serum p2PSA and its derivative indexes in prostate cancer.

4.Is the location of acupoint unchangeable?.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2015;35(11):1194-1202
Acupoint,as the special body surface part where the qi of zang-fu and meridians infuses, arouses the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion. Through the exploration for the origin and the evolution of acupoint, and the integration of the related data about acupuncture-moxibustion theory and modern research, it is believed that acupoint is not fixed and it may be in a state of dynamic change. Also, it is bound up with body function. Acupoint is relatively static and the location is immobile while the body is in normal physiological status. When the body is under pathological condition, however, it is activated and the position is correspondingly changed.

5.Effect of telbivudine on serum IL-18,IL-12, IL-37 and TNF-αlevels in patients with HBV-related hepatocirrhosis
Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2015;(11):130-132
Objective To explore the effect of telbivudine on serum interleukin-18(IL-18),IL-12, IL-37 and tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α) levels in patients with HBV-related hepatocirrhosis. Methods 66 cases of patients with HBV-related hepatocirrhosis were collected and divided into treatment group and control group according to the different treatment method , 34 cases in control group were treated with routine treatment , 32 cases in treatment group were treated by telbivudine on the basis of routine treatment. The serum IL-18, IL-12, IL-37, TNF-αlevels and adverse reactions were compared post-treatment.Results Compared with control group, the levels of IL-18, IL-12, IL-37 and TNF-αdecreased significantly post-treatment (P<0.05).The above levels were significantly lower in treatment group post-treatment than that in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Telbivudine adjuvant therapy could suppress viral replication, and improve liver function and immune response in patients with HBV-related hepatocirrhosis.
6.Roles and mechanisms of β-catenin in cerebral ischemia
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2015;23(11):870-876
β-Catenin is an adhesion molecule that mediates intercellular adhesion. It can be activated by the classical Wnt signaling pathway and promote cell survival.During cerebral ischemia, the stability of β-catenin decreases and the phosphorylated β-catenin level increases.Up-regulation of β-catenin can inhibit the schemia-induced neuronal apoptosis, promote neurogenesis, maintain the stability of blood-brain-barrier,and protect against cerebral injury.
7.The clinical value of combining early peak temperature with 48 h-△sequential organ failure assessment score in predicting prognosis for patients with sepsis in emergency department
Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2016;25(1):68-72
Objective To investigate the joint value of early peak temperature and 48 h-△sequential organ failure assessment (SOFA) score in predicting the prognosis for patients with sepsis in emergency department. Methods Two hundred and thirty-one patients with sepsis admitted from January 2013 to January 2015 in Emergency Intensive Care Unit of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Medical University were enrolled.Clinical features, early peak temperature,SOFA scores, the length of stay in EICU and the mortality in 28 days were studied. The patients were divided into two groups according to the 48 h-△SOFA.Each group were divided into three subgroups according to the early peak temperature. For example, hypothermia subgroup had temperature below 36 ℃,normothermia subgroup had temperature between 36 ℃ and 38 ℃,and hyperthermia subgroup had temperature above 38 ℃.The relationship between peak temperature plus 48 h-△SOFA and the length of stay in EICU as well as mortality were analyzed. Results Of 231 patients,in 48 h-△SOFA>0 group (n =142) 27 (19.0%) patients died, and in 48 h-△SOFA≤0 group (n =89) 33 (37.1%) patients died (P < 0.05).Hypothermia subgroup had a higher odds ratio value in predicting nonsurvival in 48 h-△SOFA≤0 group (OR =4.51,95%CI:1.33-2.17,P =0.01).Hyperthermia subgroup had a longer stay in EICU than hypothermia subgroup and normothermia subgroup (P < 0.05).Conclusion The combination of the early peak temperature and 48h-△SOFA score is an effective indicator to evaluate the prognosis and to stratify patients with sepsis in emergency department.More attention should be paid to the patients with an early peak temperature < 36 ℃ and 48 h-△SOFA ≤0 because of higher mortality. The condition of patients should be reassessed and try to make a more rational treatment for the patients with an early peak temperature >38 ℃ and 48 h-△SOFA >0 because of its longer stay in EICU.
8.Changes and correlation of lymphocyte subsets and serum levels of IgE in children with allergic rhinitis
Chinese Journal of Immunology 2016;32(4):550-552
Objective:To investigate the changes of lymphocyte subsets and the serum levels of IgE in the children with allergic rhinitis, and to analyze the relationship between lymphocyte subsets and IgE.Methods:CD3+,CD4+,CD8+CD19+,CD4+CD25+,CD16+56+lymphocyte subsets were measured by flow cytometry ,IFN-γ,IL-4,IL-5 of serum were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and the serum level of total IgE was detected by immuno turbidimetric assays in 86 cases of children with allergic rhinitis and 76 cases of healthy children.Results:CD19+B lymphocyte subsets ,the ratio of CD4+and CD8+,IL-4 ,IL-5 and the serum levels of IgE were increased in the children with allergic rhinitis groups as compared with healthy children , the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05);CD3+,CD4+,CD8+,CD4+CD25+,CD16+56+lymphocyte subsets and IFN-γwere lower than the control group ( P<0.05 );there was a correlation between B lymphocyte subsets and IgE in the children with allergic rhinitis.Co nclusion:Lymphocyte dysfunction and Th1/Th2 ratio imbalance may be related to the pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis ,and IgE,IFN-γ,IL-4 and IL-5 play important roles in children with allergic rhinitis.
9.25S rDNA genotype and antifungal susceptibility of vaginal Candida albicans
Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2016;51(4):279-284
Objective To investigate 25S rDNA genotype distribution of vaginal Candida albicans and its relationship with antifungal susceptibility. Methods A total of 954 isolates of Candida albicans were subjected to genotype analysis according to the presence and the size of transposable groupⅠintron in 25S rDNA with PCR; 156 isolates were enrolled to detect their antifungal susceptibility of 5 antifungal agents with the M27-A3 broth microdilution method. Results Totally 876 isolates were determined to be intronless genotype A (91.8%,876/954); 58 (6.1%, 58/954) and 20 isolates (2.1%, 20/954) were intron-containing genotype B and genotype C, respectively. The minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of itraconazole and fluconazole against the intron-containing group were significantly higher than those of the intronless group (0.25 versus 0.125μg/ml, P<0.05;0.25 versus 0.125μg/ml, P<0.01), whereas the MIC of nystatin against the intron-containing group was lower than that of the intronless group (4 versus 8μg/ml, P<0.01). The resistance rate of Candida albicans to itraconazole of the intron-containing group was significantly higher than that of the intronless group [24% (19/78) versus 3% (2/78), P<0.01]. Cross-resistance analysis revealed 5 of the 21 (24%) itraconazole resistant isolates were cross-resistant to fluconazole ,and 5 of the 6 (5/6) fluconazole-resistant strains were cross-resistant to itraconazole. Besides, all the five strains simultaneously resistant to itraconazole and fluconazole belonged to the intron-containing group. Conclusion The presence of the transposable group Ⅰ intron in 25S rDNA of vaginal Candida albicans might be important in affecting itraconazole, fluconazole and nystatin susceptibility.
10.Research Progress of TCM Medicinal Herbs and Their Active Ingredients in Anti-bacterial Biofilms of Caries
Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;(7):125-127
Caries is one of the most common chronic progressive oral diseases. TCM medicinal herbs have many advantages compared with traditional dental drugs for caries (such as fluoride). In recent years, cariogenic TCM medicinal herbs have attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign scholars. Caries is not caused by a single factor. The development of caries is closely related to bacterial biofilms that are formed by streptococcus mutans, streptococcus sanguis, actinomyces inside, actinomyces and lactobacillus. Therefore, this article took a brief overview of TCM medicinal herbs and their active ingredients that inhibit the bacterial biofilms.
