Objective To investigate blood uric acid levels in health check-up receivers in Tianjin City. Methods Blood uric acid levels in 28 661 health check-up participants were tested and the incidence of hyperuricaemia was analyzed. Blood pressure, body mass index, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride were measured and compared. Results The average level of blood uric acid was (349±73 ) μ mol/L in male, and (256±59) μmol/L in female. The peak value in male was found in the 30 to 39 years old group, while in female the age was increased to 70 years old. The incidence of hyperuricaemia was higher in male ( 15. 2% vs 6. 3% ,P<0.01). The level of blood sugar, triglycerides and total cholesterol was higher in the hyperuricaemia group. Also in the hyperuricaemia group, the incidence of overweight/obesity,hyperglycaemia, hyperlipidemia and hypertension was higher. Conclusions The incidence of hyperuricaemia in routine health check-up individuals in Tianjin City could be 11.3%. Blood uric acid may be significantly associated with metabolism.

Objective To investigate the characteristics of cerebral vascular imaging and risk factors of stroke in popu?lation with family history of stroke in rural areas of Ji County, Tianjin. Methods The volunteers with family history of stroke were recruited in the study to undergo computed tomography and computed tomography angiography (CTA) of head as well as physical and laboratory examinations. A total of 281 subjects, including 153 male and 128 female, underwent exami?nation, and were divided into stroke group and non-stroke group. Results The detection rates were significantly higher in male subjects than those of female subjects, including smoking rate, drinking rate, educational level, and decreased level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), whereas the detection rate of high level of triacylglycerol (TG) was significant?ly higher in female than that of male subjects (P<0.05). There were 38 subjects in stroke group. The age, internal carotid ar?tery calcification rate (ICAC) and internal carotid artery tortuosity (ICAT) rate were significantly higher in stroke group than those of non-stroke group (P<0.05) . The results of multivariate Logistic regression analysis indicated that age, hyperten?sion, ICAC, and ICAT were independent risk factors for stroke. Conclusion For population with family history of stroke, age, hypertension, ICAC and ICAT were risk factors of stroke.

Objective Using manganese enhanced MR imaging(ME-MRI)as a standard to validate the accuracy of white matter diffusion tenor tractography(DTT)with different gradients orientations in macaque monkeys. Methods Seven adult male macaque monkeys were scanned for DTY images with different number of gradients orientations. When all data were acquired.3 μl of 0.8 mol aqueous solution of MnCl2 was injected into the primary motor cortex representing forelimb for ME-MRI scanning 48 hours later. On the images of fractional anisotropy(FA),seed region for fiber tracking was chosen according to the subcortical enhanced range on ME-MRI,then the DTT fiber tracts proiecting on axial images of FA were compared with enhancement region on T1WI of ME-MRI.Results Under the calculation method for fiber tracking in the study, different motion-probing gradients orientations led to results consistent with ME-MRI for the brain above the midbrain level. All group's concordance score of fibertracking results were good.Among them,30 and 64 orientation fiber tracking results were optimal.Below the midbrain level, there was significant difference between DTT fiber tracking and ME-MRI fiber tracking. Conclusion Different motion-probing gradients orientations do not influence DTT fiber tracking. But below the midbrain level.the results of DTT fiber tracking were not reliable according to the standard results of ME-MRI fibe tracking.
