Objective To determine the diagnosis and the prognosis of acute bilineal leukemia(aBLL).Methods The cases who had been morphologicaUy diagnosed as acute leukemia were retrospectively screened. The characteristics of aBLL blasts and the patients'responses to chemotherapy and the survival rate were identified based on the analysis of both their clinical and laboratory data. Results From total of 352 cases screened,11 cases of aBLL were identified. The incidence of aBLL was 3.1%.Among them 4 were male and 7 female. The median age was 38 years old.The median counts of white blood cell at the onset of the disease was 56.3×109/L.There were more My/B aBLL subtype cases than My/T aBLL (8 cases vs.3 cases). Cytogenefie analysis data were available for 7 cages. All were standard karyotypes except 1 who had complex karyotypie change. The complete remission(CR)rate of chemotherapy was 45.5%(5/11)and the response rate(CR+PR)Wag 54.5%(6/11).Only 2 patients achieved CR after the first course of induction chemotherapy. The median of remission duration was 11 months, ranged from 3 to 14 months. The median of survival time was 10 month. ranged from 1 to 23 months. 1 patient died during the induction course. Conclusion aBLL is a rare subtype of acute leukemia. The diagnosis of the disease could be based on the combinational analysis of morphology and immunophenotype study. The patients'responses to the conventional chemotherapy regimens were not satisfied. Therefore, the prognosis of the disease was poor.

Objective To investigate the effect of the replication-deficient adenovirus carrying miR-138(Ad-miR138) on the pro-liferation of human gastric cancer cell line BGC-823 and the possible mechanism .Methods The human gastric cancer cell line BGC-823 was infected with Ad-miR138 .Then the expression level of miR-138 was measured by RT-PCR .The growth curve of BGC-823 was measured using CCK-8 method .The ability of cell invasion was measured using Transwell chambers .Results After infected with Ad-miR138 ,the expression of miR-138 in BGC-823 cells was up -regulated significantly (1 .07 ± 0 .07 vs .4 .89 ± 0 .45 ,P<0 .05) .Absorbance of the 6th day decreased significantly (0 .52 ± 0 .06 vs .0 .77 ± 0 .06 ,P<0 .05) ,and the invasion ability was de-creased obviously (32 .00 ± 11 .00 vs .56 .00 ± 12 .00 ,P<0 .05) .Conclusion miR-138 can effectively suppress the proliferation and invasion of human gastric cancer cell line BGC-823 in vitro .

Objective Through the analysis of influenza ( Flu ) monitoring data, to grasp the epidemiological characteristics of influenza, effective response to influenza pandemic in our province, to provide scientific basis for the development of influenza prevention and control strategies. Methods To analyze the surveillance data of influenza from 2011 to 2015.Results From the 14th week of 2011 to the 13th week of 2015, the average percentage of influenza-like illness(ILI)visits (ILI%) was 2.01%in Jilin province. The age group of 0 to 4 was the highest in the age groups of ILI cases.2173 positive strains were isolated from 13 sentinel hospitals, and the positive rate was 8.28%.The main three viral types were:seasonal A ( H3N2 ) 45.24%, A ( H1N1 ) 32.31%, B 22.14%.The dominant strains in different monitoring years were significantly different, the dominant strains of 2011-2012 was B while 2012-2014 were H3N2 and H1N1, the dominant strains of 2014-2015 was H3N2.Conclusion The seasonal characteristics of influenza in Jilin province were obvious, and the dominant strains in different monitoring years appeared alternately.

Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, response, and prognosis of splenic diffuse red pulp small B-cell lymphoma (SDRPL) .Methods:Eight cases of SDRPL were diagnosed and treated at Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, between May 2017 and April 2022. Data on the clinical features, laboratory results, bone marrow and spleen biopsy results, response, and prognosis were collected and analyzed. Results:The median age at diagnosis was 54 (42-69) years. Splenomegaly and lymphocytosis were present in all cases, and PET/CT revealed normal to slightly elevated splenic FDG uptake. All cases were in stage Ⅳ, with spleen, peripheral blood, and bone marrow but no proximal lymph nodes involved. The cytoplasm of neoplastic villous cells was abundant, and splenic pathology showed that small homogenous lymphocytes permeated the splenic sinus and splenic cord, and the white pulp atrophied. Immunohistochemistry was not typical, and B-cell markers including CD19, CD20 and CD79α were positive. After a median follow up of 35.5 (4-60) months, 7 cases were alive after splenectomy with or without chemoimmunotherapy. The patient with CCND3 P284A and MYC S146L mutation developed to B-cell prolymphocytic leukemia (B-PLL) 1 month after splenectomy and died at 16 months of follow-up.Conclusion:A rare indolent B-cell lymphoma that primarily affects the elderly, SDRPL. Most patients achieved long-term survival, but the prognosis of patients who progress to B-PLL was poor.

BACKGROUNDFollicle stimulating hormone is necessary for normal reproduction in men. The biochemical actions of follicle stimulating hormone result from binding to the follicle stimulating hormone receptor in the plasma membrane of Sertoli cells. Here, we investigated the expression of the follicle stimulating hormone receptor in different testicular histological phenotypes of patients with idiopathic azoospermia.
METHODSFifty-seven cases of idiopathic azoospermia were classified into three groups according to the results of testicular biopsy: patients with hypospermatogenesis, patients with maturation arrest, and patients with Sertoli cell-only syndrome. Thirteen azoospermic patients identified by testicular biopsy as being capable of completing spermatogenesis acted as the control group. Immunohistochemistry and real-time quantitative reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction were performed in each case, and the serum hormone level was also measured in all patients.
RESULTSThe serum follicle stimulating hormone level in patients with Sertoli cell-only syndrome was significantly higher than in patients with hypospermatogenesis, maturation arrest, and complete spermatogenesis (P < 0.01). The serum follicle stimulating hormone level in patients with maturation arrest was significantly higher than in patients with hypospermatogenesis and complete spermatogenesis (P < 0.05). There was no difference in serum follicle stimulating hormone levels in patients with hypospermatogenesis and complete spermatogenesis. The follicle stimulating hormone receptor expression level of testicular samples with Sertoli cell-only syndrome was significantly higher than in those with hypospermatogenesis, maturation arrest, and complete spermatogenesis (P < 0.05), but no significant difference was observed among hypospermatogenesis, maturation arrest, and complete spermatogenesis testicular samples.
CONCLUSIONSDifferent serum follicle stimulating hormone levels and follicle stimulating hormone receptor expression were found in the different testicular histology phenotypes in azoospermic patients. Differential follicle stimulating hormone receptor expression in testicular tissue of patients with idiopathic azoospermia may be associated with the degree of spermatogenesis.
