OBJECTIVETo study retrospectively the clinical efficacy on pediatric recurrent pneumonia treated with point application in summer for the prevention in winter, as well as the relationship of age, sick duration, attack frequency and skin reaction with the clinical efficacy.
METHODSOne hundred and thirty-five cases of pediatric recurrent pneumonia were divided into a one-year group, a two-year group and a three-year group, 45 cases in each one according to the duration of treatment. The acupoints for the application were Dingchuan (EX-B1), Feishu (BL 13), Gaohuang (BL 43) and Danzhong (CV 17) with the same herbal plaster (prepared with rhizome corydalis, semen brassicae, euphorbia kansui and asarum sieboldii at the ratio of 2:2:1:1) on the first day of each of the three periods of the hot season, 2 to 4 h in each treatment. The attack frequency and change rate were observed before and after treatment in the three groups. The clinical efficacy was assessed in the three groups.
RESULTS(1) After treatment, the attack frequency of pediatric pneumonia was reduced apparently in the three groups (all P < 0.01). The result in the three-year group was less than that in the one-year group and the two-year group and the change rate was the highest (all P < 0.01). (2) After treatment, the sick duration was shortened apparently in the three groups (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). The result in the three-year group was the most remarkable, statistically and significantly different as compared with the other two groups (both P < 0.01). (3) The total effective rate in the three-year group was better than that in either of the other two groups [84.4% (35/45) vs 51.1% (23/45, P < 0.01), 84.4% (35/45) vs 71.1% (32/45, P < 0.05)]. (4) The total effective rate in the children aged from 4 to 7 years was better than that in the group aged from 8 to 10 years and the group aged from 11 to 14 years [79. 7% (47/59) vs 71.7% (33/46, P < 0.05); 79.7% (47/59) vs 43.3% (13/30, P < 0.01)]. (5) The total effective rate in the children with the sick duration ≥ 4 year was lower than that in the group with the sick duration <2 years and that 2 to 4 years (both P < 0. 01). (6) The total effective rate in the children with the annual attack frequency of 2 to 4 times was better than that with the frequency ≥ 4 times (P < 0.01). (7) For the cases with skin reaction after treatment, the total effective rate was better than that in the cases without reaction (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe point application in summer for the prevention in winter reduces the attack frequency of pediatric pneumonia, shortens the sick duration and has achieved the better significant efficacy in the cases of lower age, shorter sick duration, less attack frequency and moderate skin reaction.

Objective:To investigate the clinical features and prognosis of patients with pancreatic metastasis from clear cell renal cell carcinoma(CCRCC).Methods:From Jan 2000 to May 2020, the clinical data of patients pathologically diagnosed as CCRCC with pancreatic metastasis and admitted in Cancer Institute and Hospital of Tianjin Medical University were analyzed retrospectively. The gender, age, metastasis time, relapse time, metastatic sites, numbers of metastatic lesions and whether metastatic pancreatic lesions should be surgerically removed were recorded and the influencing factors were analyzed. Results:Among the 20 patients, there were 12 males and 8 females. The median age of diagnosis was 50 years. There were 12 patients(60%) of left renal carcinoma and 8 patients(40%)of the other side. 12 cases(60%) had single pancreatic metastatic lesion and the other 8 cases(40%) had multiple metastatic lesions. Seven patients(35%) had other organs metastasis besides pancreatic metastasis. Two patients(10%) had simultaneous pancreatic metastasis and renal cancer, and the other eighteen patients(90%) had pancreatic metachronous metastasis after being diagnosed as renal cancer. The median time from the diagnosis of CCRCC to pancreatic metastasis was 102 months. Thirteen patients(65%)had recurrences within 10 years and the other seven patients(35%)had recurrences after 10 years. Pancreatectomy was performed in nine patients(45%) and targeted therapy was conducted in thirteen patients. The mean follow-up was 122.9 months (1-256 months). Three patients (15%) died and 17 patients (85%) survived. The median overall survival was 75.9 months, and the 5 year-survival rate was 66.7%. Simultaneous metastasis and extra-pancreatic metastasis were prognostic factors in patients with CCRCC with pancreatic metastasis. Conclusions:Pancreatic metastases from renal clear cell carcinoma were rare, but the prognosis was good, especially in patients with only pancreatic metastases several years after renal carcinoma was diagnosed.

Objective To explore the clinical and pathological features, diagnosis and treatment of eosinophilic cystitis in children. Method The clinical data of 7 patients with eosinophilic cystitis admitted from 2012 to 2016 were retrospectively analyzed, and the related literature were reviewed. Results The median age of the 7 patients was 9 years, and clinical manifestations were urgent urination, frequent micturition, odynuria, hematuria, abdominal pain and nocturnal enuresis. Ultrasonography and CT examination showed thickened bladder wall and space occupying lesions. All the 7 children received bladder biopsy, and pathology was consistent with eosinophilic cystitis. Six of them were cured after 2 months of drug therapy, and the other one was cured by repeated drug treatment for 1 year. All patients were followed up for 3 months to 4 years until the abnormal symptoms of voiding disappeared and the abnormal changes of bladder disappeared by imaging examination. Conclusion Eosinophilic cystitis in children is a benign lesion, having extremely similar clinical manifestations to bladder tumor. Without biopsy, the diagnosis of eosinophilic cystitis can also be made according to the clinical manifestation, laboratory examination and treatment effect. The treatment for this disease mainly includes hormone, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory drugs.
