1.Research progress of glypican 3: a marker for hepatocellular carcinoma
Journal of International Oncology 2008;35(4):294-296
Tumor markers lay the foundation of early diagnosis for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Besides alpha-fetoprotein, glypican 3 is confirmed to be a novel tumor marker for HCC with high specificity and sensitivity, especially at immediately early stage of small carcinoma. Glypican 3 has high value of clinical application and may bring new hope for precise diagnosis of HCC.
2.Early prediction of breast cancer
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(2):118-120
Between 40 to 60, especially after menopause, breast cancer have a higher incidence in women population. CA-153 ( carbohydrate antigen-153 ) is a tumor marker commonly used for monitoring breast cancer in clinic. However, CA-153 appears to have no clinical value for early diagnosis of breast cancer. Gene expression profiling technology becomes hot-spot through which some breast cancer related genes have been found. Moreover, the methods used for diagnosis of breast cancer also has certain shortcomings, and it is still uncertain that breast cancer is likely to be found at the early stage or be predicted in advance.
3.Trans-scleral ocular drug delivery for the treatment of posterior segment eye diseases
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2017;33(2):213-217
The human sclera accounts for 95% of the surface of the eyeball, providing ample contact area which is suitable for targeted trans-scleral ocular drug delivery.Currently there are several tans-scleral sustained-release strategies, including intra-scleral delivery, episcleral delivery,as well as tans-scleral iontophoresis.Different devices and methods have their own advantages and disadvantages, for example, intrascleral delivery is somehow invasive, and episcleral delivery device needs to be made thin to prevent erosion of conjunctiva, iontophoresis needs to be frequently repeated as of its short-term effect. With the development of bio-material engineering technology, episcleral microfilm could become an ideal drug delivery route for posterior segment ocular diseases.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(6):1377-1383
There have been problems in the existing multiple physiological parameter real-time monitoring system, such as insufficient server capacity for physiological data storage and analysis so that data consistency can not be guaranteed, poor performance in real-time, and other issues caused by the growing scale of data. We therefore pro posed a new solution which was with multiple physiological parameters and could calculate clustered background data storage and processing based on cloud computing. Through our studies, a batch processing for longitudinal analysis of patients' historical data was introduced. The process included the resource virtualization of IaaS layer for cloud platform, the construction of real-time computing platform of PaaS layer, the reception and analysis of data stream of SaaS layer, and the bottleneck problem of multi-parameter data transmission, etc. The results were to achieve in real-time physiological information transmission, storage and analysis of a large amount of data. The simulation test results showed that the remote multiple physiological parameter monitoring system based on cloud platform had obvious advantages in processing time and load balancing over the traditional server model. This architecture solved the problems including long turnaround time, poor performance of real-time analysis, lack of extensibility and other issues, which exist in the traditional remote medical services. Technical support was provided in order to facilitate a "wearable wireless sensor plus mobile wireless transmission plus cloud computing service" mode moving towards home health monitoring for multiple physiological parameter wireless monitoring.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of combined acupuncture and medicine in treating kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome in obese polycystic ovary syndrome. Method Sixty-four patients were randomly allocated to two groups. The treatment group received combined acupuncture and medicine and the control group, oral administration of metformin. The course of treatment was three months. Pre-treatment and post-treatment indicators were statistically analyzed in the two groups of patients. Result BMI, waist to hip ratio, fasting insulin, fasting blood glucose and HOMA-IR improved significantly in the treatment group of patients after treatment; there were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences (P<0.05). Post-treatment BMI and waist to hip ratio improved more markedly in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Combined acupuncture and medicine has a better therapeutic effect on kidney deficiency and phlegm dampness syndrome in obese polycystic ovary syndrome.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(03):-
Valproate (VPA) has long been used for the treatment of bipolar mood disorder. VPA is effective in control of mania and depression. Recent studies have demonstrated that VPA has profound neuroprotective effects in against various apoptotic stimuli. Moreover, VPA can promote neurogenesis, neuronal proliferation and differentiation. Although intensive research has been dedicated to VPA′s neuroprotection, the molecular mechanisms by which VPA protects neurons are still not fully understood. In this paper, recent progresses in the study of VPA′s neuroprotection and underlying mechanism are reviewed.
