Stroke is the leading cause of death in Chinese Residents. Intracerebral hemorrhage accounts for 10-20% of all stroke, and the degree of nerve function damage is often more severe than that of ischemic stroke. The corticospinal tract injury is an important mechanism for motor function defect after stroke. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is the only functional magnetic resonance imaging to noninvasively detect white matter tracts, which can objectively evaluate the degree of fiber bundle damage. This article reviews the role of DTI in predicting the outcome of motor function in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage.Stroke is the leading cause of death in Chinese Residents. Objective To explore the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and frailty among community aged people. Methods A total of 1571 aged people in two communities in Zhengzhou, Henan, China were recruited by convenience sampling method. They were divided into normal group, overweight group and obesity group according to BMI, and were assessed with Fried Frailty Criteria. Results The rates of overweight and obesity were 38.6%and 10.9%, respectively. There was significant difference in the level of frailty among dif-ferent groups (χ2=86.659, P<0.001). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that overweight and obesity were independent risk fac-tors of pre-frailty (P<0.05), and obesity was the independent risk factor of frailty (P<0.05). Conclusion The prevalence of overweight and obesity was higher in community aged people in Zhengzhou, and normal BMI was important to postpone the process of frailty.

OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the effect of allergen specific immunotherapy (SIT) in patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma. METHOD A total of 68 patients with allergic rhinitis and asthma sensitized to dust mite were recruited into the study. They were randomly divided into two groups: SIT group n = 34 and symptomatic therapy (ST) group: n = 34. Patients in ST group received medication to treat, the symptoms, patients in SIT group received medication and 3 years of standardized allergen vaccine therapy. Evaluation index of therapy includes: rhinitis symptoms score, asthma symptoms score, drug score, skin prick test, serum specificity IgE (sIgE) , peripheral eosinophil (Eos) counting, lung function. The new sensitinogen rate was also assessed.
RESULT:
Clinical symptom scores, drug scores, lung function, blood eosinophil numbers and skin test result were all improved significantly after 3-year treatment in SIT group compared to those in ST group (P < 0.01). Although the level of serum slgE was decreased, there exited no statistic diferences between two groups. Only 8.8% patients have the new sensitization in SIT group, and 52.9% in ST group. There were no serious adverse reactions in treatment process.
CONCLUSION
SIT for patients with AR and asthma can obtain excellent clinical efficacy.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2014;32(1):23-26
OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effects of carbon monoxide releasing molecule-2 (CORM-2) on experimental periodontitis in rats.
METHODSForty-two Wistar rats were divided into three groups. Rats in the normal group (NL group) did not undergo any procedure, whereas the other rats were ligatured and treated with saline solution (NaCl 0.9%) (LO group) or treated with CORM-2 (10 mg kg(-1) per day) (CO group). A 3-0 silk suture was placed around the mandibular first molars. Rats were sacrificed after 3, 7, and 10 d. Blood samples were collected from all animals for tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) analysis. Changes in alveolar bone levels were measured clinically, and periodontal tissues were histopathologically examined to assess the infiltration of inflammatory cells.
RESULTSLigature placement increased alveolar bone loss and inflammatory cell infiltration in periodontal tissue. Alveolar bone loss in CO group was significantly higher than that in NL group, but was lower than that in LO group (P<0.05). The ratio of inflammatory cell infiltration in LO group was significantly higher than that in CO and NL groups, and that in CO group was lower than in LO group (P<0.05). Serum levels of TNF-alpha and IL-1beta in the LO group were significantly higher than those in the CO and NL groups, and those in CO group were lower than in LO group (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONSystemic administration of CORM-2 reduced periodontal inflammation and alveolar bone loss in experimental periodontitis in rats.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2011;44(10):729-730
Two cases of nevus of Ota resistant to multiple sessions of Q-switched laser treatment are reported. Both of the patients were females, who developed beige or blue patches on the left side of the face (zygomatic region, cheek)several months after birth. No conjunctiva or sclera was involved. The lesions spread to the left retroauricular region and posterior neck during pregnancy in one patient.Histopathological examination of the lesions showed scattered melanocytes and melanophages in lower dermis and subcutaneous adipose tissue as well as apparent proliferation of collagen.Immunostaining for CD34 showed no abnormality in the distribution of vascular endothelial cells in these tissues. No obvious improvement was observed in either of the patient after more than 10 sessions(12 sessions in 1 case, and 13 sessions in the other case)of treatments with Q-switched alexandrite(755 nm)or Q-switched Nd:YAG laser(1064 nm).The immediate response of lesions to laser irradiation was unusual.Purpura or errhysis was absent in the lesions after repetitive irradiation with high-energy laser, but both were visible in the adjacent normal skin even after irradiation with low-energy laser.

Journal of Kunming Medical University 2013;(10):22-26
Objective To investigate the effect of the asymmetric of masticatory force on the remodeling of bilateral mandibular condylar cartilage of SD rats. Methods The animal models were established respectively by excising the unilateral temporalis, and injecting botulinum toxin A into the unilateral masseter. Dividing three batch processing 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 9 weeks after the animal modeling, six rats were killed in each group. The expression of CTGF in condylar cartilage was observed by immunohistochemical staining. Results CTGF expressed in proliferative layer, chondroblast layer and hypertrophic layer of the condylar cartilage. The expression of CTGF in the experimental groups was increased than control groups (<0.05) . There was no significant difference between the left and right side in the experimental groups ( >0.05), the expression of CTGF after 6 weeks of operation was stronger than the group after 3 weeks of operation, the expression of CTGF after 9 weeks of operation was the strongest than all of other groups ( <0.05) . Conclusions The asymmetric of masticatory force can up-regulate the expression of CTGF mRNA in rat mandibular condylar chondrocytes. CTGF induces the effect of stress-mediated on the mandibular condylar cartilage remodeling.
