1.Effects of G-CSF and SCF on ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction

Objective To study the effect of G-CSF and SCF on ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction in rats. Methods Left anterior descending coronary artery ligation was performed on 78 rats and after 6 hours there were 60 rats survived. The 60 rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: 30 rats received the treatment of G-CSF and SCF while the other 30 rats served as the control. The treatment group was injected subcutaneously with G-CSF and SCF and the control group was given saline. The treatment and control groups were randomly divided into 3 subsections and were killed in the 1~(st), 2~(nd) and 4~(th) week respectively. Comparison between the two groups was made in terms of ratio of ventricular weight to body weight, percentage of the infarction area to the total surface area of the LV as well as HE and immunohistological staining of the myocardium. Objective To investigate the trend of the national Kaschin-Beck disease condition, and provide the scientific basis for the government to make preventing strategy. Methods The data were collected from national surveillance on Kaschin-Beck disease(KBD) condition from 2000 to 2007 by restrospective method. The national X-ray detective rates and KBD condition in the eastern and western areas of China were analyzed. Results Monitoring data were collected from 189 monitoring points in 14 provinces of China, and 21 287 X-ray films were photographed of right hands of children from 2000 to 2007. X-ray detective rate was decreased significantly of national KBD from 2000 to 2007. The condition in the west of China is slightly more serious than the eastern areas, but the average of X-ray detective rate was also decreased from 21.75% to 7.30%. National condition is basically controlled. X-ray detective rate had been controlled below 5%, exept for Qinghai, Tibet and Inner Mongolia and so on. Conclusions Ninty percent of the wards have reached the controlled level according to the X diagnosis standard. In terms of the severity of the disease, most of the wards are occupied by patients with slight condition, 10% ward with moderate condition, less than 1% ward with serious condition.

Quality of ulcer healing (QUH) was applied to explore the mechanism of the recurrence of peptic ulcer. The relationship of QUH and epidermal growth factor, prostaglandins, heat shock proteins, immune function and Helico-bacter pylori was assayed. Mechanism of Chinese herbal medicine for the recurrence of peptic ulcer was presented as follows: improving blood circulation and barrier function of gastric mucosa, eliminating Helicobacter pylori and increas ing QUH.

Aim To investigate the reversal effect of cinobufacine(Cino)on adrimycin(ADM)resistant human breast cancer cell line MCF-7/ADM.Methods The cytotoxic effect of Cino or ADM and the sensitivity of ADM to cells was determined by MTT assay.The intracellular concentration of ADM was detected by HPLC. The expression of P-glycoprotein(P-gp)was examined by flow cytometric(FCM) .Results The maximum non-toxic dose Cino(15 mg?L-1) increased the sensitivity of ADM in MCF-7/ADM,decreased the IC50 of ADM in MCF-7/ADM from 38.14 mg?L-1 to 12.93 mg?L-1, and significantly increased the intracellular concentration of ADM in MCF-7/ADM and reduced the expression of P-glycoprotein.Conclution The results showed that Cino can partially reverse multidrug resistance(MDR)of MCF-7/ADM cells and the mechanism might be associated with the increase of intracellular accumulation of ADM and the reduced expression of P-glycoprotein(P-gp)in MCF-7/ADM cells.

AIM:To investigate the effects of recombinant rat augmenter of liver regeneration (rrALR) on apoptosis of renal tubular cells (NRK-52E cells) induced by gentamycin sulfate (GM). METHODS: The cultured NRK-52E cells were divided into four groups: normal control cells, cells with GM (GM 1.6 g/L) or GM and rrALR (15 mg/L or 25 mg/L) treatments. The apoptosis of cultured cells were assessed at 24 h, 48 h by AO/EB staining, DNA agarose gel electrophoresis analysis and flow cytometry using Annexin V-FITC and propidium iodide (PI) staining. Objective To explore the titre of serum anti-phospholipase A2 receptor antibodies (anti-PLA2 R antibodies) detected by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to provide a more specific serological index for clinical diagnosis and disease judgment of membranous nephropathy (MN).Methods Thirty-four cases of MN confirmed by kidney biopsy ,32 inpatients with autoimmune diseases ,nephrotic syndrome and renal insufficiency in the nephrology department of our hospital and 12 persons un-dergoing physical examination were selected.The serum was collected for detecting anti-PLA2 R antibodies level.Then its diagnostic performance for diagnosing MM was analyzed by combining with serum TP ,ALB ,IgG ,IgA ,IgM ,C3 and C4 indicators.Results The medians of anti-PLA2 R antibodies titres in the MN group ,disease control group and healthy control group were 22.1 ,2.0 ,2.0 RU/mL respectively ,which had statistical difference between the MN group and other two groups (P<0.05).Seventeen cases of anti-PLA2R antibodies positive were in the MN group(positive rate50% )and 17 cases were negative,the disease control group and healthy control group all were negative.Its specificity and positive predictive value were 100% ,TP ,ALB and IgG had statistical difference between the MN group with the disease control group and healthy control group (P<0.05);the relative coefficients of anti-PLA2 R antibodies with TP ,ALB and IgG ,IgA ,IgM ,C3 and C4 were in turn -0.382 ,-0.344 ,-0.502 ,-0.295 ,0.062 , 0.005 and 0.241 respectively ,anti-PLA2R antibodies were negatively correlated with TP ,ALB ,IgG and IgA(P<0.01) ,positively correlated with C4(P<0.05) and had no relation with IgM and C3(P>0.05).Conclusion Anti-PLA2 R antibodies have higher specificity for the diagnosis of MN and can serve as the necessary and specific serologic detection indicator in the patients unable to conduct renal biopsy.Quantitative detection helps to condition judgment.

Objective Utilization of proteome method,by observing differences on protein expression of hypothalamus in the hyperthyroidism rats with hyperactivity of liver-yang and normal rats,to search the differential protein.Methods Models of animal were prepared by ip L-T4 and Fuzi Decoction.Both the quantitative and qualitative changes of the protein expression were compared between model group and treated group by protein technique.Results Proteins were mainly displayed at range of pI 3~8,Mr(14.4~75)kD.18 protein increased and 24 protein decreased in model group compared with treated group, included Thioredoxin,Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase isozyme L1,Platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase IB gamma subunit,glutamate dehydrogenase,dihydropyrimidinase-related protein 2, NSFL1 cofactor p47,Tubulin beta 5.Conc(?)sion There were 18 spots high expressed and 24 spots low expressed in the hyperthyroidism with hyperactivity of liver-yang,that maybe related with the develepment of the hyperthyroidism with hyperactivity of liver-yang.
9.The Time Distribution of Physical Activity per Working Day of Non-agriculture Employed Population in China

Objective To study the time distribution of non-agriculture employed population spent in a working day in China, and to provide basic information for intervention strategies.Methods The data of 2002 China Nutrition and Health Survey were used. The information on daily activities including occupation,transportation,exercise,housework,sedentary activity and sleep was described.Results Non-agriculture employed population spent 8.41 h,0.58 h,0.09 h,3.11 h,1.40 h and 7.89 h on occupation, transportation,exercise,sedentary activity,housework and sleep,respectively.Administrator,technologist and clerks spent less time on occupation activity than service workers,production and transportation workers and others did,and they spent more time on sedentary activity.Male spent more time on occupation activity and less time on housework and sleep than female did.People in rural area spent more time on occupation activity than those in urban area,but less time On transportation and sedentary activity.Conclusion Differences in time use among different employed groups,gender and area were found,which should be considered when intervention measure is developed.
10.Association study between schizophrenia and human frizzled 3 gene( rs2241802 ,rs2323019 ,rs352203 ) polymorphism in Yunnan Han population

Objective To explore whether the polymorphism of human frizzled 3 (rs2241802 ,rs2323019,rs352203) is associated with schizophrenia in Yunnan Han population. Methods PCR-RELP was used to detect the polymorphism of human frizzled 3 (rs2241802 ,rs2323019, rs352203 ) in 153 patients and 100 controls. All patients were evaluated with positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS). Following a linkage disequilibrium test in the 3 loci ,association analysis was carried out between the polymorphism, including haplotype,and schizophrenia in all samples. Results No significant difference of genotype and allele frequency of the 3 loci were observed in 2 groups. There was no difference in genotype and allele frequency of rs2241802 ,rs2323019,rs352203 in Han samples (P>0.05) . The polymorphisms of the 3 loci had been observed no difference in case-sibling control study of normal group. A-A-C haplotype and G-A-C haplotype were observed with a higher frequency in both samples (P<0.05). There was no difference in patients and controls in PANSS scores (P > 0.05 ). Conclusions There is no association between polymorphisms of human frizzled 3 ( rs2241802, rs2323019, rs352203 ) and schizophrenia in Han. A-A-C and G-A-C haplotype might possibly associate with schizophrenia in Yunnan Han population.
