1.EFFECT OF DRY HEAT TREATMENT AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES ON THE NUTRITIVE AND BIOLOGICAL VALUES OF BEEF PROTEIN
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
1. The nutritive and biological values of the dry heat-treated beef protein were estimated by the growth and the nitrogen balance methods, using weaning and young rats respectively.2. At a 10 per.cent level of protein intake in the diet, the digestibility and biological values of the beef protein dried at two different temperatures were respectively as follows: at 60℃, 94.1 and 85.5; at 140℃, 88.3 and 76.1.3. The protein efficiency of beef dried at 60℃, 80℃, 100℃ and 140℃ obtained at a 10 per cent level of protein intake during a period of 4 weeks were as follows: 60℃, 2.70 + 0.09 g; 80℃, 1.79?0.12g; 100℃, 1.78?0.13 g; and 140℃, 1.33?0.35g.4. The higher the temperature, the lower the nutritive and biological values of dried beef protein. This decrease appears to be the result of lowered digestibility of the dried beef protein due to a change in the peptide linkages which renders them less susceptible to enzymatic hydrolysis.

China Oncology 2001;0(05):-
Background and purpose:Epirubicin is one of the fi rst line chemotherapy drugs in the treatment of breast cancer, and liposome doxorubicin is a new antitumor drug that has been reported to have less cardiotoxicity and myelosuppression compared to free doxorubicin. Dentritic cells (DC) play important roles in tumor immunity. Our experiment investigated the impacts of epirubicin and liposome doxorubicin on different human breast cancer cell lines and dentritic cells, and evaluated their roles in the treatment of breast cancer. Methods:Human breast cancer cell lines, Bcap37 and MDA-MB-231, along with human dentritic cells isolated and induced into maturation, were cultured with epirubicin and liposome adriamycin at different concentrations (0, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 10.0 ?g/ml), respectively. The inhibitory effects were detected by MTT method after 24, 48, 72 h. Results:Epirubicin and liposome adriamycin could inhibit the proliferation of Bcap37 cells, MDA-MB-231 cells, and human dentritic cells. Liposome adriamycin exhibited a lighter inhibition on dentritic cells than on human breast cancer cell lines (Bcap37 and MDA- MB-231) (F=22.208, P

Isolated pancreatic islet cells from neonatal rats were cultured in vitro. Insulin release was significantly inhibited by interleukin-1?. Addition of testosterone to the IL-, 1?-impaired pancreatic islets could increase insulin release, suggesting a protective effect of testosterone on pancreatic islet cells. Testosterone also significantly increased the insulin content in islet cells, and this effect could be blocked by actinomycin-D, indicating that testosterone promoted the synthesis of DNA and insulin may be one of its major protective mechanism.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(21):3386-3390
BACKGROUND:Healthy human umbilical cord jel y is a mucous connective tissue without vessels and has been used in eye plastic operation because of its elasticity and toughness. It contains lysozyme, placental globulin, hyaluronic acid enzyme, AMP antibody and complement, and also contains a lot of mesenchymal stem cells, so it is not prone to infection and rejection. OBJECTIVE:To observe the histocompatibility and histopathological changes of human umbilical cord jel y as a tarsal substitute transplanted for eyelid reconstruction in guinea pigs. METHODS:The mucous connective tissue of healthy neonate umbilical cord jel y was made into tissue blocks at even thickness. Models of tarsal defects were established in guinea pigs, and then the mucous connective tissue of healthy neonate umbilical cord jel y was implanted. Samples of implanted materials were col ected for histological examination at 1, 2, 3 weeks postoperation under light microscope. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:There were no obvious rejection, infection and eyelid deformation observed, the corneas of al the animals were clear, corneal epithelial shedding did not occur, and the eyelid could move normal y. One week after implantation, there was no infection and rejection on the conjunctiva and the incision of the eyelid, the eyelid could move normal y, and partial inflammatory cells were observed between the human umbilical cord jel y and the muscle of the eyelid with microscopy. Two weeks after implantation, there was no infection and rejection on the conjunctiva and the incision of the eyelid, the cornea was clear, the eyelid and eye could move normal y, and no symblepharon occurred;umbilical cord jel y showed the tendency of absorption, and the inflammatory cells were reduced at 2 weeks after implantation. Three weeks after implantation, the incision of the conjunctiva healed wel , the cornea was clear;there was no difference in the eyelid form and movement between the two eyes;the umbilical cord jel y was absorbed partial y, normal fibrous tissues formed and there were no inflammatory cells. With low immunogenicity, human umbilical cord jel y can guide the growth of new col agen and serve as an ideal tarsal substitute.

Objective To prepare 2-[18F]fiuoropropionic acid (18F-FPA) and evaluate its biodistribution and imaging capacity in Lewis lung carcinoma-bearing mice. Methods 18F-FPA was prepared by nucleophilic substitution reaction, and its hydrophilicity was analyzed.18F-FPA (7.4-11.1 MBq) was injected into Lewis lung carcinoma-bearing mice via tail vein.MicroPET imaging was performed at 20,80 min after the injection. The biodistribution of 18F-FPA in organs was analyzed. The blocking effects of sodium propionate and dichloroacetate to 18F-FPA were tested in vivo.Data were analyzed by two-sample t test using GraphPad Prism software. Results The synthesis of 18F-FPA took 40 min.18F-FPA had high radiochemical purity (>99%) and hydrophilicity.18F-FPA was mainly distributed in the carcinoma, the urinary bladder and the caecum. The radioactive uptakes in muscles, brown fat and bones were relatively low.Quantitative analysis showed that the uptake of 18F-FPA in Lewis lung carcinoma from 20 min to 80 min was slightly increased ((17.03±2.87) %ID/g vs (19.33±2.45) %ID/g) without significant difference (t=1.100,P>0.05).Neither sodium propionate nor dichloroacetate could block the uptake of 18F-FPA in Lewis lung carcinoma (t=1.544,0.894;both P>0.05).Conclusions 18F-FPA can be quickly synthesized and has good physicochemical properties. It can be used as a tracer to visualize Lewis lung carcinoma in mice, and its tumor uptaking can not be blocked by propionate and dichloacetate.18 F-FPA PET has the potential to detect lung cancer noninvasively in clinic.
