1.Effective of Preoperative Personalized Psychological Care on Operative Patients

Objective To investigate the effect of preoperative individuation mental nursing on operative patients. Methods 56 cases of patients with operation were randomly divided into experiment group and control group.The patients in the experiment group were applied with preope rative individuation mental nursing and routine nursing care ,while only received routine nursing care in the control group. The alteration of blood pressure,heart rate and anxiety of patients before and after intervention was evaluated. Results The blood pressure,heart rate and anxiety level of experimental group became better than the control group. Conclusion Personalized preoperative psychological care can to stabilize mood and reduce anxiety, so it was an effective way to make operation successful.
2.Effect of procyanidins on carcinogen-induced DNA damage and topoisomerase

AIM To observed the effect of procyanidins on DNA damage induced by carcinogen or hydroxyl radical (OH?),and inhibitory effect on topoisomerase. METHODS Using labeled TdR uptake assay and single cell gel electrophonesis. Topoisomerase was extracted from B16F10 cell lines, used agarose gel electrophoresis assay. RESULTS It was showed that hydroxyl radical (OH?) or different doses of MNNG can induce severe DNA damage of L 929 cell lines. Procyanidins can alleviate the damage induced by MNNG or OH?. It shows certain dose dependent effect relationship . But there is no significant inhibitory against Topo Ⅱ activity by procyanidins even at a dose of 50 ?mol?L -1 . CONCLUSION Procyanidins from grapes seeds can protect DNA damage,but not inhibit topoisomerase activity. This is one of cancer chemoprevention mechanism of Procyanidins.
3.The trend of cancer mortality from 1988 to 2005 in Kaifeng county, China.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the time trends of cancer mortality among residents in Kaifeng county, Henan province.
METHODSData on cancer mortality from the vital registration system in Kaifeng county from 1988 to 2005 was analyzed. A total of 9543 death records (5974 males and 3567 females) due to malignant tumors were studied. A two-year-period age-specified standardized mortality rates were directly adjusted by the world standard population, and the annual percentage change (APC) of mortality were estimated by a linear logarithm regression.
RESULTSThe crude cancer death rate for male was 95.09/100,000 and its age-standardized death rate was 117.41/100,000. While, the crude cancer death rate for female was 59.13/100,000 and the age-standardized death rate was 57.15/100,000. There was a significant growth tread for lung cancer (APC: 6.54%), liver cancer (5.07%) in males and breast cancer (7.04%) in females in the groups aged over 18. On the contrary, the decreasing treads for esophageal cancer in both of sexes (-7.09%, -13.53%) were also observed in this study. Meanwhile, there was no other significant changes in the trend, either in the tumor sites or mortality, was observed.
CONCLUSIONIn the past two decades, there has been a significant increasing trend for cancer mortality in Kaifeng county, of Henan Province. Hence, it is necessary to enhance epidemiological survey to identify risk factors at the earlier stages.

4.Effects of different assemblages with components of Shengmai Powder on glucocorticoid receptor in liver of thermal injured rat.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of different assemblages formed by components of Shengmai Powder (SMP) on glucocorticoid receptor (GR) in liver of thermal injured rat to find the optimal ratio of assembling for GR regulation.
METHODSWith a orthogonal design adopted, the dosage of each component of SMP, including the total saponins of Ginseng (G), the water extract of lilyturf root (L), and the water extract of schisandra fruit (S), was ranked in three levels, namely, no participating, low dosage (G 7.1 mg, L 17.2 mg, S 9.6 mg), high dosage (G 14.2 mg, L 34.4 mg, S 19.2 mg). The components were assigned by L9(3(4)) orthogonal table and grouped, the best assembling ratio was determined through direct and variance analysis.
RESULTSAfter being acted by the different assemblages, the maximum binding volume of GR in rat's liver cell suspension was 161 +/- 26 fmol/mg protein in group 1, 271 +/- 40 fmol/mg protein in group 2, 166 66 fmol/mg protein in group 3, 222 +/- 45 fmol/mg protein in group 4, 192 +/- 26 fmol/mg protein in group 5, 194 +/- 23 fmol/mg protein in group 6, 166 +/- 15 fmol/mg protein in group 7, 165 +/- 47 fmol/mg protein in group 8 and 211 +/- 79 fmol/mg protein in group 9. The optimal GR level appeared during the dosage of G, L and S was 7.1 mg, 17.2 mg and 19.2 mg, respectively.
CONCLUSIONThe best assembling ratio of SMP for regulating GR in the liver of thermal injured rat was G:L:S = 3:3:4.

5.Effects of storage time on quality of Desmodium styracifolium seeds.

The dynamic changes of germination percentage, germination potential, thousand-seed weight, antioxidase activity in Desmodium styracifolium seeds with different storage time were tested, and electrical conductivity, contents of soluble sugar, soluble protein, starch in seed leach liquor were also determined in order to reveal the mechanism of seed deterioration. The results as the following. (1) The germination percentage, germination potential and thousand-seed weight of D. styracifolium seeds declined, while the seed coat color darkened with the extension of storage time. (2) The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) decreased with the prolongation of storage period. The SOD activity declined fastest in 1,095-1,185 d of storage, while the POD activity declined significantly in 365-395 d of storage. (3) The electrical conductivity and the contents of soluble sugar, starch in seed leach liquor increased, while the content of soluble protein declined with the extension of storage time. (4) Correlation analysis indicated that the germination percentage, germination potential and thousand-seed weight of D. styracifolium seeds have a significantly positive correlation with SOD and POD activity, while have a significantly negative correlation with the electrical conductivity, contents of soluble sugar and starch. It can be concluded that during the storage of D. styracifolium seeds, physiological and biochemical changes including decrease in antioxidase activity, rise in electrical conductivity, degradation effluent of soluble sugar and starch, degradation of soluble protein were the main factors leading to the seed deterioration.

6.Construction and identification of a yeast two-hybrid bait vector and its effect on the growth of yeast cells and the self-activating function of reporter genes for screening of HPV18 E6-interacting protein.

By using a yeast two-hybrid system, a yeast two-hybrid bait vector was constructed and identified for screening of the HPV18 E6-interacting proteins, and its effects on the growth of yeast cells and the activation of reporter genes were investigated. Total mRNA extracted from Hela cells was reversely transcribed into cDNA. Fragment of HPV18 E6 cDNA was amplified using RT-PCR and directly ligated to the pGBKT7 vector. The recombinant plasmid was confirmed by restriction endonuclease analysis and DNA sequencing. The recombinant pGBKT7-HPV18 E6 plasmid and empty pGBKT7 vector were transformed into the yeast cell AH109, respectively. After they were cultured respectively in YPDA liquid medium and nutrition-deficient culture medium, their toxicity and transcriptional activation were tested by both the phenotype assay and the color assay. The bait plasmid HPV18 E6 was successfully obtained. After being cultured in YPDA liquid medium for 16h, the A (600 nm) values of two yeast fluids were 0.98+/-0.03 and 0.99+/-0.02, respectively. The recombinant pGBKT7-HPV18 E6 plasmid and empty pGBKT7 vector could grow to white colonies on SD/-Trp/X-alpha-gal plates, while no colony could survive on SD/-His/-Trp/X-alpha-gal, SD/-Ade/-Trp/X-alpha-gal plates, indicating that the bait plasmid pGBKT7-HPV18 E6 was constructed successfully and expressed correctly, and could not activate the transcription of reporter gene alone. The yeast two-hybrid GAL4 system 3 can be utilized to find HPV18 E6 interacting proteins.
7.Regulatory effect of ginsenoside on glucocorticoid receptor in mice with ischemic liver damage.

OBJECTIVETo study whether ginsenoside (GS) can regulate the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) in mice with ischemic liver damage, and to preliminarily observe its dose-effect relationship for providing an experimental bases in seeking a new way to relieve the damage from view of GR.
METHODSAdult male SD mouse was used to establish liver ischemia model, and different doses (100, 50, and 25 mg/kg) of GS was given via gastric infusion before modeling. The maximal GR binding capacity (Bmax) of liver and the level of GR mRNA expression in liver were dynamically determined at various time points (2 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h) after modeling.
RESULTSCompared with the normal control group, GR Bmax and GR mRNA expression in model rats were lower obviously (P < 0.01). As compared with the control group, GR Bmax and GR mRNA expression in model rats treated with 50 mg/kg GS significantly raised at 2 h, 6 h, 12 h (P < 0.01), while the changes in modeling rats treated with other two doses of GS were of no statistical significance.
CONCLUSIONGS in dose of 50 mg/kg can elevate the GR Bmax of liver and the level of GR mRNA expression in liver of rats with ischemic damage.

8.Clinical study on integrative medicine for preventing and treating post-transcatheter arterial chemoembolization.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of ginsenosides (GS) and low dose glucocorticoid for preventing and treating the post-transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) syndrome.
METHODSAdopting randomized, double blinded, controlled method, 80 patients with primary liver cancer were divided into 4 groups, placebo group, dexamethasone (Dex) group, Ginsenosides (GS) group, and Dex combined with GS group to observe the clinical effect of the patients after TACE.
RESULTSDex combined with GS could markedly lower the occurrence of nausea, vomiting, fever and pain, and the median time of symptoms persistence, also alleviate the bone marrow inhibition of chemotherapy.
CONCLUSIONDex combined with GS could effectively prevent and treat TACE syndrome.

9.Efficacy of combined therapy with ginsenosides and prednisone in treating systemic lupus erythematosus--a randomized, controlled and double-blinded trial.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic efficacy of combined therapy with ginsenosides (GS) and prednisone on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
METHODSSixty patients with SLE were assigned to 2 groups randomly by a randomizing digital table, the treated group and the control group, 30 cases in each group. All patients were treated with routine administration of prednisone, but to the treated group GS Capsule (50 mg) was given additionally twice every day, while to the control group placebo capsule of equal dosage was given instead. The total clinical efficacy, and changes of systemic lupus erythematosus disease activity index (SLEDAI), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), complement 3 (C3) and anti-ds-DNA were observed after 3-month-treatment.
RESULTSThe total clinical efficacy rate was 89.28% in the treated group and 66.67% in the control group, showing a significant difference between them (P<0.05). The improvements of SLEDAI, ESR and C3 in the treated group were more significant than those in the control group (P<0.01, P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe combined therapy of GS and prednisone could enhance the clinical efficacy, reduce the SLEDAI and promote the recovery of laboratory indices in SLE patients.
