Objective To retrospectively analyze the cardiovascular outcomes of the elderly patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) and the influence factors. Methods According to polysomnography examination, 79 OSAS patients and 60 patients without OSAS were selected and divided into 3 groups: elder OSAS group [39 patients older than 65 years, respiratory apnea index (AHI)≥5], non-elder OSAS group (40 patients less than 65 years old, AHI≥5) and elder control group (60 patients older than 65 years, AHK5). All patients were followed up by telephone and clinic consulting. The median follow-up duration was 25 months. All patients received the following studies: (1)Flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD), which was assessed by high-resolution ultrasound technique. (2)The sleep-related breathing events and serum biochemical indexes. (3)The death due to cardiovascular disease (CVD), angina, myocardial infarction and stroke. Results (1) FMD was significantly lower in elder OSAS group than in elder control group (P<0. 01). (2)In elder OSAS group versus elder control group, BMI was significantly higher (P<0. 01), while both lowest pulse oxygen saturation (LSpO_2 ) and mean series pulse oximeter ( MeanSpO_2 ) were significantly lower (P< 0.01 and P<0. 05, respectively). Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that impaired fasting plasma glucose was the primary injury factor for FMD (OR=1. 83, 95% CI:1. 11~3.03), and LSpO_2 was the secondary injury factor (OR = 0.92, 95% CI: 0. 85~1. 00). (3) The incidence of cardiovascular events in the 3 groups: the incidence of cardiovascular events was significantly higher in elder OSAS group than in the other 2 groups (χ~2= 7. 339, P<0. 05). Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that FMD (OR=1. 33, 95% CI:1. 06~1. 66)and hs-CRP (OR = 0.51, 95% CI: 0. 34~0.76) were closely related with prognosis. Conclusions Compared with non-elder OSAS group and elder control group, vascular endothelial function impairment is more serious and the incidence of cardiovascular events is higher in elder OSAS group. So OSAS may influence the prognosis of the patients by injuring the vascular endothelial function.

Objective To investigate the adjuvant effect of dimo-thylidioctyl ammonium bromide (DDA) and/or DDA-BCG polysaccharide nucleic acid( BCG-PSN), which was combined with a Mycobacterium tuberculosis fusion protein AMM ( Ag 8 5 B - MPT64190-198 - Mtb8.4 ) to boost BCG primed immunization. Methods DDA with or without BCG PSN was mixed with the fusion protein AMM to construct the boosting vaccine. Mice were immunized with BCG and then boosted twice with AMM formulated with the adjuvant DDA with or without BCG-PSN. PBS or BCG vaccination without boosting was used as control. The humoral and cell-mediated immune responses were analyzed by ELISA and ELISPOT. Moreover, the protective efficacy of BCG prime-AMM subunit vaccine boosting against Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection was analyzed. Results With in vitro stimulation of Ag85B and PPD( purified protein derivative) antigen, the number of IFN-γ secreting cells from the mice boosted twice by AMM/DDA/BCG-PSN and AMM/DDA were higher than BCG and PBS group (P <0.05). The CFU in lungs of mice boosted with AMM/DDA/BCG-PSN was less than that of PBS group(P <0.05), while the CFU of AMM/DDA-boosted mice was less than that of BCG and PBS group(P < 0.05).However, fewer lesions were seen in lungs of mice immunized with BCG alone or BCG-prime-AMM/DDA/BCG-PSN boosting than the other groups. Conclusion DDA is an idea adjuvant for tuberculosis subunit vaccine;BCG-PSN might play a role in alleviating the immunity-mediated pathology.

Objective To explore the effect of uhrasound-phoresis of Chinese herb in the treatment of frac- ture healing on rats. Methods The animal model of femur fracture was established in 36 rats, who were divided in- to 4 groups after operation. The rats in the ultrasound group were given ultrasound treatment daily. The herbal group was given Chinese herb applied on the fracture site. The experimental group was given uhrasound-phoresis of Chinese herb on the site of fracture. The control group was housed without any treatment. All rats were sacrificed at 30 days and the bony callus were harvested and observed with histological anti immunohistoehemical examination. Results The histological examination showed that the appearance of cartilaginous and bony callus in the experimental group were earlier than those in other groups,Immunohistochemical examination showed that the expression of collagenⅠin the experimental group was significantly higher than that in ultrasound group and herbal group(P
5.AIDS discrimination in junior college students and the effect of AIDS knowledge on discrimination
Chinese Journal of School Health 2020;41(2):209-212
Objective:
To analyze the situation of AIDS knowledge and discrimination among freshmen in Chengdu city, and to explore possible effects of AIDS knowledge on discrimination.
Methods:
A cluster random sampling was employed to investigate 1 053 college students from 11 universities in Chengdu about their HIV/AIDS knowledge and discrimination. The scores of AIDS knowledge and discrimination of students with different characteristics were analyzed, and the influence path of AIDS knowledge on AIDS discrimination were further analyzed based on different peer relationships.
Results:
The total scores of AIDS knowledge was negatively correlated to AIDS discrimination( r s =-0.13, P <0.01). After adjusting for confounding factors, the total score of AIDS knowledge was associated with the total score of AIDS discrimination( β =-0.12, P <0.01). AIDS knowledge played a role in AIDS discrimination in intimate, general and unfamiliar peer relationships, with standardized path coefficients of -0.20, -0.24 and -0.18 respectively( P <0.01).
Conclusion
AIDS knowledge are correlated with discrimination among freshmen under different peer relationships. More anti-AIDS discrimination courses should be added to AIDS education to reduce the students’ fear and stigma of HIV/AIDS patients and related risk groups.

Objective:
To evaluate the effects of standardized management of hypertension on blood pressure control of hypertension patients with diabetes mellitus in workplace population.
Methods:
Taking the type and size of workplace into consideration, 61 work sites were selected in different provinces by using epidemiological field trial method. In each selected province, 2-4 work sites with similar economic and medical conditions were chosen, among which 1-3 were designated as the intervention group and the other one as the control group. In total, 443 patients with hypertension and diabetes mellitus were included, with 347 patients in the intervention group and 96 patients in the control group. After training, doctors conducted standardized management for patients in the intervention group for a period of 24 months, following up with them regularly once a month, and recorded changes in blood pressure, risk factors, target organ damage, and treatment, while the control group had no special intervention, and relevant information was collected only at baseline and 24 months. Blood pressure, blood pressure control rate, and blood glucose changes were compared between the two groups.
Results:
After receiving standardized management of hypertension, the control rate of hypertension for patients with both hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the intervention group increased from 24.2% to 63.7% (
