Objective:To study the mechanism of moxibustion therapy on diabetic peripheral neuropathy for the peripheral neuroprotection. Methods:The DPN model was induced by intraperitoneal injection with streptozotocin (STZ).The rats were given moxibustion at the acupoint Yishu (Extra) and the acupoint Zusanli (ST 36).The treatment was carried out once a day and 15 minutes per acupoint, lasting for 56 d in total. The clinical effect of moxibustion was evaluated by detecting blood sugar, urine sugar, body weight and dietary intakes,as well as nerve conduction velocity with neuroelectrophysiological method. The structure variation of sciatic nerve was observed by HE staining and light microscopy, and the level of NGF in the sciatic nerve Was determined by ELISA.Results:Compared with the model group, the plasma glucose was significantly lower in the moxibustion group (P<0.01),with significantly faster nerve conduction velocity (P<0.01),more notably changes in pathological appearance (P<0.01) and higher level of nerve growth factor (NGF)(P<0.01).Conclusion:Moxibustion could improve the symptom and signs of peripheral neuropathy in rat models with DPN,which may relate to the increased NGF and enhanced peripheral nerve protection.

Objective:To detect the expression of BTLA on Treg cells of HIV-infected patients and investigate the role of BTLA in HIV infection. Methods: Forty-four HIV-1-infected patients (twenty-four early HIV infection, fourteen chronic HIV-infected patients with CD4+ T counts> 200 cells/μl,AIDS patients with CD4+T counts<200 cells/μl) and nine healthy people served as normal controls were selected to detect the expression of BTLA on Treg cells by flow cytometry. The correlations between BTLA expression on Treg cells and disease progression or immune activation were studied. Results: There was a higher percentage of BTLA on Treg cells in chronic HIV patients and AIDS patients than that in early HIV infected patients(P<0.05,P<0.01),and the expression of BTLA on Treg cells in AIDS patients was higher than that in normal controls(P<0.05).The expression of BTLA on Treg cells was negatively correlated with CD4+T lymphocyte counts and positively correlated with viral load (P<0.001,P<0.01).The percentage of BTLA on Treg cells was positively correlated with CD4+CD38+T lymphocytes and CD4+HLA-DR+T lymphocytes(P<0.001,P<0.001).Conclusion: Increased BTLA expression on HIV-infected Treg cells is associated with disease progression, suggesting that it may accelerate disease progression by enhancing Treg cells inhibitory function and may provide intervention information for HIV infection in the future.

Objective By exploring the relationship between the gene polymorphism of tumor related gene CD44 and the occurrence of breast cancer, the pathogenic gene or genetic predisposing gene of breast cancer was studied so as to provide theoretical basis and technical support for the screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Methods Samples from 265 cases of breast cancer and 290 healthy female were collected. Multiple polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification and two generation sequencing were used to analyze the genetic polymorphism of 4 loci of CD44 rs11607862,rs13347,rs7116432 and rs8193.T he size and metasta-sis of 235 patients were compared. Results There was no significant difference in the expression of four sitesloci in breast cancer patients. However,in the analysis of cancer patients, the GG genotype of rs13347 lo-cus was lower than that of CC/CG type, and the lymph node metastasis rate was lower. Conclusion There is a certain correlation between the rs13347 loci of CD44 and the metastasis of breast cancer. The correlation be-tween the genetic polymorphisms of 3 loci of rs11607862,rs7116432 and rs8193 and the development of breast cancer needs more clinical samples and further research.
