1.Progress on human acid-labile subunit deficiency
International Journal of Pediatrics 2011;38(6):551-553
Acid-lable subunit (ALS)plays an important role in stablizing the insulin-like growth factor ( IGF),which has an great impact on the process of human growth and develepment.Mutations of the human IGF ALS gene result in ALS deficiency. Some degree of insulin insensitivity,as well as high level of insulin, low serum concentrations of IGF- Ⅰ and IGF binding protein ( IGFBP)-3,short stature, growth retardation, was generally found in patients with human ALS deficiency.Meanwhile, bone mineral desity reduction only occures in some cases. However, the exact mechanisms of insulin insensitivity and bone mineral density reduction have still remained unclear.

Objective To investigate the effects of oral calcium and active vitamin D on bone mineral density and balance function in senile osteoporosis patients. Methods A prospective casecontrol study was conducted on 216 senile osteoporosis patients who met the inclusion criteria.Patients were given oral calcium and active vitamin D for 12 months. The data values of BMD,balance function, falls incidence and bone pain were compared before versus 6 and 12 months after treatment. Results There were significant differences in BMD of lumbar vertebrae and femur neck, static balance function assessed by the single-leg stance timed tests with closed eyes, dynamic balance function assessed by the Star Excursion Balance Test(SEBT) in directions of east, southeast, south and southwest(all P<0.05).The incidence of falls was decreased 12 months after treatment as compared with pre-treatment(5.6% vs.12.5%).The bone pain had no significant difference before versus after treatment(P>0.05).Conclusions Oral calcium and active vitamin D could increase BMD,improve the balance function and decrease the risk of falls in senile osteoporosis patients. However,it has no significant improvement on bone pain within a short period.

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry 2001;49(4):403-405
A sensitive method for the determination of inorganic mercury and total organomercury in chemical waste water by cold vapor generation-atomic fluorescence spectrometry (CVG-AFS) was proposed. Inorganic mercury was directly determined by CVG-AFS. Organomercury was oxidized by potassium persulfate to its inorganic form prior to analysis. The difference between the two data was the value of total organomercury. Parameters affecting the sensitity in the process for the determination of mercury had been studied and optimized. Detection limit of mercury chloride was 8.2 ng/L.

Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2015;(3):295-298
Autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD) had a low incidence, and mainly in neonates or infants. It is caused by mutations of the polycystic kidney and hepatic disease 1 gene (PKHD1). The pathogenesis of ARPKD is still not clear. The principal of treatment is focused on the control of complications and slow down the progression. In this article, the research advances in the pathogenesis and treatment of ARPKD was reviewed.

Crohn’s disease( CD)is a gastrointestinal progressive granulomatous disease with unknown etiology. It is characterized as active stage alternating with remission stage,long-term course with many complications, sometimes needing surgery and having the tendency of relapse in patient ’s whole life. Therefore,it is important to define an effective therapeutic endpoint to ameliorate the natural course of CD. This article reviewed the progress in defining treatment endpoint of CD.

Inflammatory bowel disease( IBD)includes ulcerative colitis( UC)and Crohn’s disease( CD),its incidence is increasing yearly in our country. With the progress of molecular biology, genetics, the understanding of IBD is deepen, however, the exact pathogenesis of IBD is still not fully clear, and it may be related to gene, environment, immunity, microorganism. Studies have shown that smoking, vitamin D,sex hormones, emotions, diet may be related with the occurrence of IBD. This article reviewed the role of environmental factors in IBD.

Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2014;33(3):331-334
Objective To determine the contents of fluoride and tea polyphenols in brick-tea and to understand the utilization ratio of qualified brick-tea in fluorosis regions in Inner Mongolia. Methods The investigation was carried out in Chenbaerhuqi Country and Eweukeqi Country.Seventy-two households of four villages in Chenbaerhuqi and 11 households of three villages in Ewenkeqi were selected as study subjects. The brick-tea in each household was sampled. The contents of fluoride and tea polyphenols were determined by using fluoride selective electrode method and Forint-Ciocalteu oxidation method, respectively.T test and linear correlation were used to analyze the data. Results The fluoride content in qualified brick tea ranged from 114.82 mg/kg to 290.23 mg/kg with an average value of 171.78 mg/kg,while tea polyphenols content was between 56.15 g/kg and 132.18 g/kg with an average value of 95.44 g/kg.In unqualified brick-tea,the average fluoride content was 459.86 mg/kg with the range from 304.71 mg/kg to 660.76 mg/kg and the average of tea polyphenols was 67.48 g/kg with the range from 36.03 g/kg to 102.15 g/kg.The content of tea polyphenols of qualified brick tea was significantly higher than that of unqualified brick tea (P < 0.05).The content of tea polyphenols was negatively correlated with fluoride content(r =-0.636,P < 0.05).The content of tea polyphenols was 396 times more than that of fluoride in brick tea.The utilization ratio of qualified brick-tea in the investigation areas was 53.0%(44/83).Conclusion The fluoride content in qualified brick-tea was less than unqualified brick-tea,and the tea polyphenols of qualified brick-tea was higher than the unqualified brick-tea.The utilization rate of qualified brick tea is not high and further actions are needed to be taken to supply more qualified brick-tea for controlling of drinking brick-tea type fluorosis.

Objective To investigate cause and prevention of dysuria after hyperplasia of prostate operation. Methods To analyze 66 cases of dysuria after hyperplasia of prostate operation retrospectively. Result The most common reasons to dysuria are orderly stenosis of bladder neck; inflammatory edema of bladder neck; urethral stricture; rehyperplasia of remained prostate tissue; neruogenic bladder; prominence of ureteral crest; clot obstruction. Conclusion Prevention of dysuria after hyperplasia of prostate operation consists in preoperative satisfied diagnosis and correct treatment in operation and after operation.

Objective To investigate the proliferative response of peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMC) and its depressant effect on small cell lung cancer(SCLC)cells(H446) in patients with paraneoplastic neurological syndrome(PNS).Methods PBMC of 7 patients with PNS and 6 patients with SCLC were cultured with interleukin(IL)-2 in vitro, then cultured separately or mixed with H446 respectively. The proliferation index(PI,the ratio of cellular score which had proliferated and that had not proliferated) of H446,PBMC,CD4+,CD8+ T cell and the ratio of CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+ were analyzed with flow cytometry and compared with normal control group. Results Compared with cultured separately, the PI of H446,PBMC,CD4+,CD8+T cell in PBMC of PNS and SCLC groups cultured with H446 were not significantly different.Stimulated by IL-2,the ratio of CD4+ T cell in PNS patients [(76.54 ? 3.96)%]was higher than that in normal control group[(51.75 ? 17.3)%](P
