OBJECTIVE:To observe the efficacy and safety of aerosol inhalation recombinant human interferon α1b in the treat-ment of bronchiolitis in children. METHODS:60 children with bronchiolitis were randomly divided into low-dose group,high-dose group and control group. All children were given tracheal suctioning,phlegm dispersing and other symptomatic treatment. Based on it,low-dose group was given recombinant human interferon α1b 1-2 μg/(kg·times),adding into 3 ml 0.9% Sodium chloride injec-tion,compression aerosol inhalation,twice a day;high-dose group was given recombinant human interferon α1b 3-4 μg/(kg·times), adding into 3 ml 0.9% Sodium chloride injection,compression aerosol inhalation,twice a day;control group was given ribavirin 10-15 mg/(kg·d),adding into 5% Glucose injection at ratio of 1∶1 by intravenous infusion,once a day. The treatment course for all groups was 5-7 d. Clinical efficacy,disappearance time of cough,respite,rale and three depressions,hospitalization time and incidence of adverse reactions in all groups were observed. RESULTS:Disappearance time of cough,respite,rale and three depres-sions and hospitalization time in high-dose group were significantly shorter than low-dose group and low-dose group shorter than control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Total effective rate in high-dose group was significantly high-er than low-dose group and low-dose group higher than control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions during treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Based on conventional treatment,both efficacy and safety of aerosol inhalation recombinant human interferonα1b in the treatment of bronchiolitis in children are good.

Objective To study the influence of dihydromyricetin on the oxidation and non-enzymatic glycosylation in impaired glucose tolerance rats.Methods Animal model of impaired glucose tolerance rat was built by intragastrical(i.g.) injection of D-galactose generally.After 8 weeks intragastrical(i.g.) injection of dihydromyricetin(experimental group) and metformin (positive control),the levels of fasting blood glucose and tow-hour postprandial blood glucose,the insulin level and its resistance index,the levels of glycosylated hemoglobin (GHb) and advanced glycation end-products(AGEs) were detected,and the activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px),the content of malondiadehyde(MDA) were determined respectively.Results Compared with model group,dihydromyricetin decreased the level of two-hour postprandial blood glucose (P0.05).Conclusion Dihydromyricetin can significantly improve the state of impaired glucose tolerance rats; the mechanism may be related to its effect of improving the antioxidant activity of GSH-Px,inhibiting non-enzymatic glycation,lowering body oxidative stress and insulin resistance and promoting the use of blood glucose in peripheral organizations.

BACKGROUND: Spherical Toric intraocular lens can effectively correct the preoperative astigmatism of cataract patients, but it is unclear whether the aspheric Toric lens is better than the spherical Toric lens to improve the quality of vision. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the optical quality after implantation of aspheric toric intraocular lens in cataract surgery. METHODS: Seventy-three cataract patients with corneal astigmatism (80 eyes) were enrol ed, including 37 males and 36 females, aged 47-83 years. Among them, 36 cases were implanted with aspheric Toric intraocular lens (test group), and the other 37 cases were implanted with spherical Toric intraocular lens (control group). Postoperative examinations were performed at 3 months, including axial intraocular lens, uncorrected visual acuity, corrected visual acuity, residual astigmatism, contrast sensitivity, and wavefront aberration. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Three months after implantation, the axial view, uncorrected visual acuity, corrected visual acuity and residual astigmatism showed no differences between the two groups; no shape deviation and lens decentration occurred; there was no case required to remove the lens or subjected to secondary adjustment. In the test group, the moderate and high spatial frequency contrast sensitivity at the scotopic or scotopic glare state was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05), the total higher order aberrations and spherical aberrations at a pupil diameter of 5.0 mm and spherical aberration at a pupil diameter of 3.0 mm were significantly less than those in the control group (P < 0.05). Additional y, there were no differences in scattering index, cut-off frequency of the modulation transfer function, Strehl ratio and visual acuity at 9%, 20% and 100% contrast between the two groups. These findings indicate that the aspheric and spherical toric intraocular lenses have similar effects in improving the astigmatism and raising the uncorrected visual acuity, but the former one is superior to the latter one in improving scotopic vision, and total higher order aberrations and spherical aberrations.

Objective To study correlation of the retinal nerve epithelium layer thickness measured with different optical coher-ence tomography (OCT) in vivo with histological measurement. Design Experimental study. Participants 15 rabbit eyes. Methods The retina measurement position of 15 rabbit eyes were marked by laser, and then were scanned by OSE-1800 OCT and Stratus OCT. Reti-nal nerve epithelium layer thickness was measured in retinal histological shdes of rabbit eyes. The results measured with three methods were compared and linear regression analyses were done with SPSS11.5 software. Results The average retinal nerve epithelium layer thickness measured with OSE-1800 OCT, Stratus OCT and histological method were 119.5±7.4, 118.0±5.6, and 116.3±8.8μm respec-tively(P=0.292). Retinal nerve epithelium layer thickness measured with both OCT instruments had the best correlation (r=0.914, P= 0.000), and the thickness measured with Stratus OCT and histological method had the better correlation (r=0.872, P=0.001), and the thickness measured with OSE-1800 OCT and histological method had the significant correlation (r=0.833, P=0.002). Conclusions The retinal nerve epithelium layer thickness measured with different OCTs in vivo correlate well with histomorphometry, and the measure-ment of both OCT instruments are accurate. The abnormal accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) in liver is the main feature of hepatic fibrosis,and collagen is the most important component in ECM.Collagen plays an important role in the occurrence and development of liver fibrosis.Therefore,to find traditional Chinese medicine with significant effect on collagen metabolism has become a critical approach for the treatment of hepatic fibrosis.This review summarized the role of collagen metabolism in liver fibrosis,and the research progress in traditional Chinese medicines with anti-hepatic fibrosis effect by regulating collagen metabolism was explored as well.

Objective To learn the epidemiological characteristics of syphilis in Shihezi in recent three years and to provide bases for prevention .Epidemiological analysis with syphilis was conducted in our hospital from 2012 to 2014 ,which is about the detection rate ,age ,gender ,and the distribution in the department .Methods Serum were deteceted by using three methods and the data were analyzed .Results 1 281 syphilis cases in 74 798 patients were detected in our hospital during this period .The total positve rate of three years was 1 .71% .The positve rate was 1 .35% ,1 .83% and 2 .01% respectively .The results of three years was significant differences(χ2 =39 .877 ,P<0 .05) .The rate in gender was not significantly higher or lower(χ2 =1 .670 ,P=0 .434>0 .05) .The ca‐ses were mainly distributed in Han(581 ,45 .36% ) ,Uygur(43 ,3 .36% ) ,Kazak(23 ,1 .80% ) .353 cases were negative by RPR among 1 281 patients with syphilis(27 .56% ) ,and the negative rises year by year .Conclusion The incidence of syphilis increased slightly in Shihezi since 2012 .Though the detection rate between 2013 and 2014 was no significant difference .The focus was on 20- year′s old women of childbearing age .It is necessary to take strict measures to control the spread of syphilis and to do syphilis examina‐tion for all inpatients in order to prevent the infection of syphilis .

Background Application of available technology and objective indexes are very important for the early diagnosis,monitoring and therapeutic evaluation of primary open angle glaucoma (POAG).Many studies have determined retinal damage in structure and function in POAG.However,the study on the association of structural damage and functional abnormality in early POAG is still lack.Objective This study was to evaluate the relationship between structural and functional changes of retina in early stage of POAG.Methods A prospectively pilot study was performed under the approval of Ethic Committee of Shenzhen Eye Hospital from January 2011 to June 2013.Based on Helsinki Declaration,written informed consent was obtained from subject prior to entering the cohort.Ninety-five eyes of 95 POAG patients were included as the study group,and 41 eyes of 41 non-glaucoma subjects were enrolled at the same period as controls.The structural parameters of retinas were measured using RTVue-100 OCT and Cirrus HD-OCT respectively,including macular ganglion cell complex (GCC)-Avg thickness and peripapillary retinal neural fibril layer (RNFL)-Avg thickness;and the functional parameters of retinas were obtained by Humphrey visual filed analyzer and RETI scan 3.15 system respectively,including MD of visual field and PhNR of flash electroretinogram (F-ERG).The associations between the GCC or RNFL thickness and M D or amplitude of PhNR were evaluated by linear and curvilinear regression models.Results The MD,GCC-Avg,RNFL-Avg and PhNR amplitude were (-0.68±1.72)dB,(97.17± 4.82)μm,(102.51±8.74) μm and (49.61±11.01)μV respectively in the control subjects,and those in the POAG patients were (-10.82±9.87) dB,(75.07±12.29) μm,(69.09±12.96) μm and (28.38± 11.52) μV,showing significant differences between them (t =6.549,11.118,-15.061,9.956,all at P=0.001).The curvilinear regression model appeared to better describe the relationship between GCC thickness and MD (R2 =0.595,F=97.089,P＜0.001) ;while a linear regression model seemed to be better fit for the relationship between GCC thickness and amplitude of PhNR (R2=0.437,F=103.413,P＜0.001).RNFL thickness analysis showed the similar regression models with MD and amplitude of PhNR as GCC thickness,but R2 values were higher between the RNFL thickness and MD (R2 =0.606,F =101.666,P＜0.001) or amplitude of PhNR (R2 =0.454,F=54.983,P＜0.001).Conclusions Both GCC thickness and RNFL thickness show a curvilinear relationship with MD and a linear relationship with amplitude of PhNR.Goodness-of-fit of RNFL thickness is superior to GCC thickness.

It is confirmed that chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) caused by Helicobacter pylori is the main cause of gastric precancerous lesions.CAG is also the key determinant in gastric cancer risk assessment,which affects pepsinogen and gastrin-17 secretion.Most of the gastric cancer patients have poor prognosis,and non-invasive tools for gastric cancer screening and diagnosis are lacking.Therefore,the early detection of gastric cancer in order to reduce the disease mortality is necessary.Pepsinogen and gastrin-17 are biomarkers of gastric mucosa and gastric antra.The serological testing for the stomach-specific biomarkers offers the possibility to know preneoplastic gastric mucosal conditions.

Purpose To explore the ADC value in distinguishing prostate cancer (PCa) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) by reviewing related articles. Materials and Methods The studies about the diffusion-weighted images in distinguishing the prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia were enrolled from the websites of Elsevier Science, PubMed, Springer-Link, Wiley Online Library, Medline and CNKI from 2000 to 2011, with DWI, prostate, cancer, carcinoma and hyperplasia as search terms. According to the uniform inclusion and exclusion criteria, the correct studies were chosen and the parameters including the mean values and standard deviations of ADC value were extracted. Meta-analysis was done by using Stata 11 software. Results A total of 7 studies met the inclusion criteria, including 4 English articles and 3 Chinese articles. The fixed-effect model was used due to no heterogeneity. The standardized mean difference (SMD) was-1.357 and 95%confidence interval (95%CI) was (-1.604,-1.109, P=0.000). Conclusion DWI can be helpful in distinguishing the prostate cancer from the benign prostatic hyperplasia, and the ADC value of PCa is lower than that of BPH.
