AIM:To investigate the safety and complications of femtosecond laser corneal small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE) procedure and discuss the prevention and treatment.METHODS: We retrospectively studied the complications of 403 patients(799 eyes) with myopia and myopic astigmatism treated by SMILE.RESULTS: All the patients underwent the operation successfully.Only 1 case(1 eye)suffered from dark spot and changed to femtosecond laser-assisted LASIK(FS-LASIK), 5 cases(5 eyes, 0.6%) suffered from the suction loss, 11 cases (17 eyes, 2.1%) developed opaque bubble layer. All patients gained perfect uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA) (20/20).The best corrected visual acuity(BCVA) did not decrease after operations. The incidence of haze and diffuse lamellar keratitis was low (0.3% and 0.4%, respectively)and no other complications were observed. There was 9 eyes in 6 patients (1.1%) found regression of refraction at 6mo after surgery, while the UCVA of rest patients reached 1.0 at 3mo after surgery.CONCLUSION: The SMILE procedure has high safety for myopia and myopic astigmatism.Effective prevention and management of the complications is the key to achieve the satisfactory visual acuity.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(06):-
Objective:To explore a new way of nursing teaching round-making compatible with the nursing students at junior college, and to establish and improve the standards for its assessment. Methods:We performed a new mode of nursing teaching ward round jointly organized by nursing teachers of the school and clinical supervisors of the hospital among student nurses of Grade 2006 on four different subjects respectively,by going through the following four steps: establishing the subject, working out the plan, making the ward round and assessing the quality. Results:The average score on the quality assessment of the four subjects by teachers and students was 93.78.Conclusion:The new mode of nursing teaching ward round jointly organized by the school and hospital can make the best of nursing faculty resources, give full play to nursing students'potential and optimize this activity and facilitate the teaching of clinical nursing.
7.Efficacy of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) for menopausal insomnia and its effect on serum hormone levels
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2020;18(3):197-202
Objective: To explore the therapeutic efficacy and mechanism of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) for menopausal insomnia. Methods: A total of 80 patients with menopausal insomnia were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The patients in the control group received conventional Western medication treatment, and the patients in the observation group received TEAS on the basis of conventional Western medication treatment. The treatment for both groups lasted for 4 weeks. Before and after treatment, Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and modified Kupperman scale were evaluated, and the serum levels of estradiol (E2) and follicular stimulating hormone (FSH) were measured. The therapeutic efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05); in the control group, the improvement of PSQI score was significant (P<0.05), while the change of modified Kupperman score was insignificant (P>0.05); the PSQI and Kupperman scores in the observation group were significantly improved after treatment (both P<0.05), and there were significant differences between the observation group and the control group in PSQI and Kupperman scores (both P<0.05). After treatment, the serum E2 and FSH levels in the control group were not statistically different from those before treatment (both P>0.05); the serum E2 level was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the FSH level was decreased (P<0.05) in the observation group after treatment, and the between- group differences in serum levels of E2 and FSH were significant (both P<0.05).Conclusion: TEAS plus conventional Western medication in treating menopausal insomnia is effective, and can significantly improve the symptoms of insomnia and menopause, which may be related to the regulation of serum E2 and FSH levels.

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness on the prevention of behavior problems of life skills education combining school-based and parent-involved approaches for third-grade students in China. Methods:This research was targeted at the population of third-grade children in two elementary schools in Qinhuangdao City,Hebei Province.Nine regular school classrooms were randomly divided into three groups:the intervention group(n=208),internal control group(n=209) and external control group(n=204).The intervention included 26-hour competence promotion for students and 5-hour parent training. The Rutter Scale by parent and teacher were used to evaluate the effects at pretest, posttest and 6-month follow-up.Results:Improvement was observed among children in the intervention group than those in the control groups. The statistical difference was significant(P

A 16-year-old "female" patient presented as hypertension, hypokalemia, male pseudohermaphroditism, lowered gonadal steroids and cortisol, elevated adre nocorticotropic hormone and pituitary gonadotropin, and 46 XY karyotype. The pat ient was diagnosed as 17?-hydroxylase deficiency,a rare case of congenital ad r enal hyperplasia."She" chose to remain female appearance and social gender af te r negotiation with the parents.Cryptor-chidism of both inguinal canals was surgi cally removed for preventing canceration. After the surgery,a very small daily dose of dexamethasone(0.187 5 mg at bedtime)was enough to control hypertension and hypokalemia, and the therapy of conjugated estrogens(Premarin)was given t o promote the development of female characters. After 6 months of treatment, nor motension and normokalemia remained, and pubarche and mammogenesis emerged.

Objective To investigate the role of 15 kinds of growth regulatory factors in the pathogenesis of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods 15 kinds of growth regulatory factors involving cell proliferation and apoptosis were studied by immunohistochemistry with computer assisted quantitative image analysis. The mean percent area densities of stroma, epithelium and glandular lumen in BPH were examined by quantitative image analysis. Results Positive relations were found bewteen expressions of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF),transforming growth factor ?, fibronectin, type Ⅳ collagen and proportions of stroma (r=0.323?0.278?0.235?0.241,P
