1.Relationship between temperature of cornea and evaporative dry eye

Objective To investigate the impact factors for temperature of cornea(TOC) and analyse the relationship between TOC and evaporative dry eye. Methods Two hundred and fifty-seven patients(405 eyes) with normal lacrimal secretion received dry eye tests.Patients were divided into positive group and negative group according to the results,and were randomly subdivided into 4 groups with different environment temperature(T) and relative humidity(RH).For all eyes,TOC,body surface temperature(TBS) of forehead and center corneal thickness(CCT) were measured right after blinking.The impact factors for TOC and the differences in TOC between positive group and negative group were analysed.Results TOC was positively correlated with TBS(r=0.89),T(r=0.75) and RH(r=0.60)(P

The growth-propagation and decolorization-degradation systems for the model dy e Biebrich Scarlet by Trametes hirsuta were established preliminar ily. It was showed that 30℃ and the static culture were better; the effects of compo nents in culture media on the efficiencies of decolorization and degradation wer e not significant; considering the convenience of observing the changes of dye c o lors and shortenig the culture period, the potato liquid medium had the advantag e of others as a preferable medium for reaction systems of Trametes hirsuta . The decolorization and degradation of all dyes Biebrich Scarlet and Direct Deep Blu e L-3RB, Reactive Blue X-BR, Basic Violet 5BN, and Methylene Blue by Tramete s hirsuta were better.
3.Analysis on mycoplasma infection and drug sensitivity of female urogenital tract

Objective To investigate the incidence and the drug-sensitivity results of mycoplasma infection in genital tract from the gynecological outpatients,in order to provide a laboratory evidence for clinical rational use of drug.Methods The drug sensitiv-ity kit was used for isolation and culture of mycoplasma,reproductive tract secretions samples of 1 067 cases of gynecological pa-tients were collected to do mycoplasma identification and drug sensitivity test.Results In 1 067 samples,the positive rate of myco-plasma were 659 samples,including ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu)positive rate was 72.99%(481/659),mycoplasma hominis (Mh) positive rate was 3.79%(25/659),Uu and Mh positive rate accounted for 23.22%(1 53/659).The drug sensitivity results of 12 kinds of antimicrobial agents showed that single infection Uu was more sensitive to josamycin,doxycycline,minocycline,tetracy-cline,clarithromycin,azithromycin and roxithromycin.Single infection Mh was more sensitive to doxycycline,josamycin,minocycline and tetracycline.Mixed infection of Uu and Mh was more sensitive to josamycin,minocycline and doxycycline.Conclusion The main pathogen isolated from patients infected with plasma in our hospital is Uu,whether single Uu or Uu,Mh mixed infection,there are differences in the sensitivity of antimicrobial,clinicians should use drug rationally according to the conditions of patients and drug sensitivity results to reduce drug resistance rate.
4.Expression of MMP-11 in serum of gastric cancer and its significance

Background and purpose:Matrix metalloproteinase11(MMP-11)is an interesting member of the MMP family,and its overexpression has been demonstrated in human cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer and oesophageal adenocarcinoma.Furthermore,strong MMP11 gene expression is correlated with both increased aggressiveness of tumors and a poor clinical outcome,but there was no related reports on gastric cancer.We focussed our study on the significance of MMP-11 expression in gastric cancer.Methods:MMP-11 was selected and confirmed at both mRNA and protein level in 130 cases of gastric cancer serum specimen by RT-PCR,enzyme-linked-immuno-sorbent-assay(ELISA)techniques,respectively.Results:The total positive rates of serum MMP-11 mRNA in gastric cancer and healthy people were 68.4% and 5%,respectively.Our data demonstrated that MMP-11 protein levels in gastric cancer were(44?27)ng/ml,significantly higher than those in control subjects(P=0.001).MMP-11 protein levels in 30 cases with recurrence were(51?27)ng/ml and(27?28)ng/ml in 30 patients without recurrence.MMP-11mRNA positive expression was consistent with MMP-11 protein levels in gastric cancer patients.Conclusions:Serum MMP-11 may play an important role as a biomarker in diagnosis and prediction of recurrent gastric cancer.
5.Prokaryotic Expression of eBCMA-Fc Fusion Protein, a Soluble BLyS Receptor, with Computer-aided Molecular Design in E. coli

B cell maturation antigen (BCMA) is a receptor of B lymphocyte stimulator (BLyS). Human IgG1Fc fusion proteins with the extracellular domain of BCMA(eBCMA), also called decoy receptors, have beenused as a potential BLyS antagonists to block BLyS activities. In order to design novel BLyS antagonistpeptides, computer-aided homologue modeling was used to construct an eBCMA-Fc fusion protein based on thecrystal structures of BCMA and Fc fragmant. To ensure the activity of eBCMA not to be interfered by Fcfusion, the root mean square distance (RMSD) for eBCMA and Fc were calculated to be 0.036 nm and 0.064nm, respectively, based on molecular docking modeling. An eBCMA-Fc fusion gene was constructed andintroduced into E. coli for expression. As expected, the purified 36 kD eBCMA-Fc fusion protein was able tobind BLyS in vitro at a dosage-dependent manner and demonstrated an anti-proliferative activity induced byBLyS in Daudi cells. The results have provided useful information on the evaluation of computer modeling andthe in vitro biological activity for the design of potential BLyS antagonist peptides.
6.The effects of 17-β estradiol on hepatocyte apoptosis and expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in the liver-resected-rats with ischemia reperfusion injury

Objective To investigate the effects of 17-β estradiol on hepatocyte apoptosis and the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax in hepatic tissue after reduced-size ischemia reperfusion injury and its mechanism in liver protection.Methods A rat model of reduced-size hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury was established in 75 male Sprague-Dawley rats.They were randomly allocated into three groups:Sham group,ischemia-reperfusion(IR)group,and 17-β estradiol(E2 + IR)group.Liver functions,liver histology and hepatocellular apoptosis rates were observed after reperfusion.Hepatocellular ap optosis was determined by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL)method and the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax were determined by Western blotting.Results The levels of ALT and AST were higher and peaked after 12 h of reperfusion in the IR group compared with the sham group.The histological changes in the liver of the IR group consisted of hepatocyte swelling,hepatic sinusoids narrowing,inflammatory cell infiltration and hepatocyte necrosis in some areas of the livers.The IR group also exhibited an increased rate of hepatocellular apoptosis at 12 h after reperfusion.The protein expression of Bcl-2 decreased while the expression of Bax increased.In the 17-β estradiol group,the levels of ALT and AST were lower,the pathological changes were milder and the rate of hepatocellular apoptosis was lower at 12 h in comparison to those of the IR group.The expression of Bcl-2 was higher and the expression of Bax was lower in the 17-β estradiol group in comparison to those of the IR group.Conclusions 17-β estradiol can relieve the hepatic ischemia reperfusion injury in rat livers.17-β estradiol may inhibit apoptosis in hepatic tissue by up regulating Bcl-2 and down-regulating Bax,thus producing a protective effect on hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury.

8.Clinical value of serum procalcitonin in the diagnosis of bacterial infections in the critical patients

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of serum procalcitonin (PCT) in the diagnosis of bacte-rial infections in the critically ill patients. Methods A loud d 100 cases of critical patients were divided into bacteri-al infection group(56 cases) and non-bacterial infection group(44 cases). Serum PCT was measured by immunolu-minometric assay. Results The concentration of PCT in bacterial infection group(21.54 ±5.72) μg/L, was signifi-cantly higher than non-bacterial infection group (11. 95±4. 58)μg/L (t =2.291,P<0.05);The APACHE Ⅲ score of bacterial infection group(62. 44 ± 19. 55) cent was significantly higher than non-bacterial infection group(44. 56 ± 25. 88) cent(t = 2. 195 ,P < 0. 05). The concentration of PCT of 1.0μg/L and 2. 0 p.g/L compared to the former sensitivity (96. 5) % higher than the latter (55.2) % (X2 = 3. 94, P < 0. 05), the former specificity (41.7) % lower than the latter (95.8)% (X2 = 4. 02 ,P < 0. 05);1.5μg/L as a positive standard Youden index and the Agreement (83.0 % ,0. 65), were significantly higher than 1 μg/L and 2 μg/L(71.7%, 0. 38 ;73.6% ,0. 51) (X2 = 3.84, X2=3. 90,X2 = 3.992 = 3.91 ,P < 0. 05);The concentration of PCT in death group (38. 9 ±12. 6)μg/L was signifi-canfly higher than the survival group(11.8± 8. 3) μg/L(t =2. 398 ,P <0. 05). Conclusion Serum PCT has clinical values in the diagnosis and therapy of bacterial infections in the critical patients.
9.Shuxinyin for Angina Pectoris in Coronary Heart Disease:A Randomized,Double-blind,Multicenter Clinical Study

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Chinese herbs Shuxinyin(SXY)in the treatment of angina pectoris in coronary heart disease(CHD).METHODS:This was a double-blind,randomized and multi-center clinical trial.A total of 133 patients with CHD complicated with angina pectoris were assigned to receive Shuxinyin(treatment group)or Shengmaiyin(control group)for 4 wk.The outcome measures were frequency of angina pectoris attacks,symptoms & signs,ECG etc.RESULTS:The total effective rates for angina pectoris in the treatment group was 90.91%,which was significantly higher than in the control group(74.63%)(P0.05).CONCLUSION:SXY is safe and effective in relieving angina pectoris in CHD.
10.Antibacterial agents resistance and typing of ?-lactamases in moraxella catarrhalis

Objective To distinguish BRO ?-lactamase by use of restriction endonuclease analysis and investigate antibacterial agents resistance of Moraxella catarrhalis(M. Catarrhalis) with different BRO ?-lactamases .Methods Nasopharyngeal swabs of children with respiratory tract infections from the outpatient department of Beijing Children's Hospital were cultured for isolating M.Catarrhalis. BSAC(british society for antimicrobial chemotherapy) agar diffusion test was used to determine antibacterial agents resistance of M.Catarrhalis.Nitrocefin disk was used to detect ?-lactamase. Restriction endonuclease analysis was used to distinguish BRO ?-lactamases . Antibacterial agents resistance of M. Catarrhalis with different bro genes was compared.Results (1)95.0% of the 80 strains were beta-lactamase positive. MIC 90 of ampicillin was 32 ?g/ml and MIC 90 of cefuroxime,cefaclor and cefotaxime were 4 ?g/ml,8?g/ml and 1?g/ml respectively,MIC 90 of tetracycline was 16?g/ml. Among the antibacterial agents,ciprofloxacin was the most sensintive agent.(2)Among 80 strains,6(7.5%) Strains were bro negative,55(68.8%) were bro-1 positive,19(23.8%)were bro-2 positive。Except 2 strains,the results of ?-lactamases were same as the results of nitrocefin disk and restriction endonuclease analysis.(3)Compared with bro-2 positive strains,the MIC value of ampicillin and cefaclor for bro-1 positive strains were higher.Conclusions Antibacterial agents resistance of M. Catarrhalis to ampicillin was sierous in China. It should be strengthened to monitor antibacterial agents resistance of M.Catarrhalis. Restriction endonuclease analysis can play an important role on characterizing bro genes,evaluating antibacterial agents resistance of Moraxella Catarrhalis to ?-lactam and investigating molecular epideminology
